"Get your fish on a stick, fish on a stick! Fresh from the ocean and fresh from the fire! Fish on a stick here!" A young boy goes about the arena holding up freshly cooked fish on a stick.
Attack: 25 Damage: 10
Attack: 16 Damage: 10
Attack: 23 Damage: 12
The goliath charges forward, unfazed as the lizardfolk whacks at him with his staff. He brings down his sword down upon the lizard, giving him a nasty gash down his chest as he continues to assault him with another across his chest.
"And it seems like this will be a quick match folks as The Giant hit Scalefist hard seems like his scales aren't doing much against brute strength!"
Blegh! says Hatt. Fish on a stick? You'd spend so much time searching for bones, you'd miss half the fight. He looks around for something less likely to cause death by choking.
After Hatt walks away, Bennett leans over to Gasp and whispers, "I'm glad the rings are working so far. Maybe once Crispy and Ashley return, we can report to our employer and get out of this city."
(I feel like Hatt is looking for like a turkey leg or something so I'll tell you this right now. You're in the desert, livestock like that is more of a rare commodity, usually more reserved for nobles or rich merchants. And it's not a big fish, more like a skinny fish, cooked enough that the bones have turned brittle and won't bother you much even if you swallow it. )
Hatt would be happy with lizard, snake or most rodents, but will accept the fish if it's as you describe. He pays for three, and returns to Gasp and Bennett, handing their food to them.
Ashley smiles at the guard; he has no idea how much he isnt dead right now. She trots up to a brooding Crispy and gives her a tight hug. She wispers sweetly in Crispys ear Your so cute when your mad.

"God..DAMMIT. How the..******* guard..really!?" She grits her teeth, but eases up as Ashley always knew how to push those secret "calm" buttons in her. "Now what do we do?" she asks absently. She sits down on a bench or something on the lower floor and thinks out loud. "Maybe we wait to see which room she comes out of? Or goes into."
Hatt bites into his food and watches as the competition progresses, wondering how Ashley and Crispy are getting along. I reckon we'd do okay against the lizard guy. Maybe not the goliath so much. Do you think they allow magical healing as part of the combat, or just when it's finished?
The lizardfolk tries to push back at the goliath, not able to harm the mass of muscles as it bellows with rage. Even as the lizardfolk tries to dodge the greatsword, the goliath still comes into contact. And he manages another good blow while he follows up once more, hitting him away like a ragdoll. The goliath looks over to the fallen lizardfolk as it raises a single hand up then the goliath cheers as the crowd follows.
"And I was right folks, fighting The Giant is too much for one man. And Scalefist just couldn't keep up with the barrage of attacks the berserker does. And as always, check with Juliet for your winnings while we set up for the next match."
Some people head off back to the entrance while you see below, the goliath and lizardfolk are helped towards their respective gates.
"The next match to bet on will be the Dancing Flame, the survivor from the desert, versus the Exiled Songstress, Expelled from her home yet still pining for it."
Bennett doesn't say a word during the match, studying the two fighters. "I think I can take the goliath. He seems useless at a range while deadly up close." After the goliath wins, "Expected." At the mention of "Exiled Songstress" Bennett perks up a bit and casually looks around the arena, looking for the fighter.
The members of church start to clean up for the day and get ready for the next. And some of them head upstairs to retire for the evening while others head out. Father Marx is also headed for the stairs with the help of a sister.

"Now the bets are in. At the Axe Gate, we have the survivor who was thrown into the vast desert and came back despite all odds. Guards say that they could see a fire in a distance, grow closer and closer until it was clear that it was her, fighting off the ants by herself and win. She breathes the flames while her blades weave through them, the Dancing Flame!"
From a gate bearing a statue of an axe, comes a red dragonborn. She is slightly smaller than Sargt but bigger than Opsola, her frame more muscular than lean. At her hips are two longswords she unsheathes and raises in the sky. She breathes out a small spout of fire covering the blades as she waves them through the air. She gives a slash as it extinguishes the flames.
"And at the Bow Gate, we have the triton who has been expelled from her people and is to never return. Yet she remains close by to watch over her home and await the day she can return. But for now, she will entertain us with her sword skills and her musical prowess."
From the respective gate, comes a small triton. Her blue skin tinged with a bit of green as she walks out. A rapier at her side while she strums lute. Her green hair pulled into a ponytail as it bounces to her rhythm. She gives a slight curtsy as she straps her lute to her side and brandishes her rapier.
Why in the Goddess's name would she bring her lute out with her to the fight? It's probably going to get smashed to pieces, even if she wins. Hatt is still munching on his food, which is surprisingly good, if a little salty. I guess if we join the amateur fights tomorrow, I should come with a hamper of fresh laundry?
"I've seen a few bards that use their instruments for magical means. Maybe she is one?" Bennett takes a bite and chews on his food, "I don't think Crispy will be down to fight." He takes another bite TRYING SO HARD to keep a straight face and not laugh.
Find another solution. This man is just doing his job and you will not kill him. Ashley's signing is a little on the angry side.

Crispy groans very loudly, frustrated, pushing the guard away roughly.
"Fine." She sheathes her blades. "Such bullshit. This is so ridiculous. Come on, let's go."
After Hatt walks away, Bennett leans over to Gasp and whispers, "I'm glad the rings are working so far. Maybe once Crispy and Ashley return, we can report to our employer and get out of this city."

Might be our only option right now. Unless you could scale the walls without getting caught Ashley replys as she sits next to Crispy.

Crispy sighs, calming down. "Lets hang out for a bit and see what happens." she says. "Then i'll consider wall scaling."

That's it? Nothing else?
