Sorry, I'm beginning to enter a vacation period and while I will try to check-in at least daily, I cannot promise that I will always be able to do so. From September 1, I should be back to normal.
Milo has a sudden brain wave. "In the desert we would get little dust storms and tge centre of them is always calm. I bet the wind's sweet nothings refers to the centre of the room."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
As soon as Hunteros and Myrla step into the room, they are immediately deafened by a cacophony of sound. It appears that somehow, a barrier of some sort muffled the worst of the sound from escaping the threshold of the room. The sound of howling wind is painful and Hunteros and Myrla's ears start to bleed. Their muscles freeze in place and they nearly topple over as their entire body is paralyzed by the pain the sound invokes.
{{Hunteros and Myrla, you are both deafened and paralyzed. Both of you also take 2 psychic damage.}}
Seeing both Hunteros and Myrla stumbling and stopping in pain, both Inge and Wadi rush into the room to help them. The sound assaults them, but it doesn't seem to have as much an effect. But here, they can hear the sound more clearly. There are definitely two distinct sounds. One of them is the one causing the painful sensation deep in their mind that sounds like the howling of a hurricane right beside their ears, and the other, muffled by the sound of the blasting wind, is almost soothing and sounds like a song.
Just before Inge enters the howling sonic maelstrom, she hears Milo's comment about the center of a storm being calm and decides that all things being equal (if she perceives no obvious other hazards or clues), she may as well try to head there.
She notices Myrla and Hunteros struggling near her but is too distracted by the cacophony to understand exactly what has happened to them.
Inge and Wadi walk to the middle of the room after Milo's advice, but find that the sound is still greatly muffled by the screaming wind. However, as they walk toward the centre of the room, they notice that the sound is indeed different in volume in certain places. It is a matter of finding where.
Looking at the other's struggle, Brix braves himself into the room. He flinches and grimaces as the sound of howling wind buffets his ears, but quickly pushes through the pain and initial discombobulation. Having heard and seen his father use the layout of the room to increase the volume of his voice during council meetings, he manages to continue Inge and Wadi's search by using the difference in volume to find the place where the sound of the wind is non-existent. He breathes in relief as a soothing song seems to pervade his ears.
Where he now stands, about 55 ft north and 15 ft west of the entrance, there is only the sound of a song and none of the sound of the harsh wind. It is a melodious tune, but catchy and easy to whistle through his lips. As soon as he tries whistling the song, the room falls silent with only Hunteros and Myrla's pained groan breaking it. Looking up, he can see that the two birds have disappeared into motes of spectral blue light. The sound of grinding stones can be heard from the corridor.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"thank gods that horrible sound went away." he clutches his earholes pulling his hands away bloodsoaked. grunting he stands up and looks for where the grinding sound is.

Inge shakes her head to clear the ringing in her ears from the sonic overload of wind, then grins.
"Yeah! Good job Brix!" She thumps the gnome, half her height, hard on the shoulder in congratulations. "Milo, you were right! There was a quiet center. It just wasn't in the... center. Anyway, you want to check the angels again? You all right, Myrla? And Hun-, oh..."
Realizing belatedly that the dragonborn is already gone, maybe checking if one of the closed doors has opened, Inge feels her belly rumble again in hunger. She goes back and pulls the cart closer so supplies, including healing potions and just as importantly, rations, are close by.
Walking out of the room, the grinding sound seems to come from the stone door to the south, the one whose opening mechanism wasn't apparent before. The door slowly slides downward and opens to a hallway about 20 feet long that leads to another room.
{{Before moving to another room, I need to know the marching order. The corridor/hallway is 10 feet wide as a reference. Who is at the front and who is at the back?}}
Once Myrla recovered and learned what had happened, before passing through the stone door, she'd investigate the metal door that seemingly lead to the same room from both sides. "What was the purpose of this door? and why can't it be opened?" Then, she'd follow the others into the new corridor. She'd hesitate to go first this time as she still feels pain throbbing in her ears from the awful sound. (I'd say she covers the rear with only her shield in hand, dodge-ing but prepared to draw a weapon, either dagger or rapier, should it be necessary.)

As Myrla looks at the metal door on the east side of the room and wonders about its purpose, she notices that there is a handle there. She almost misses it, but it's there. It seems while there is no handle on the other side of the door, the one facing the corridor outside, there is one on this side. The door appears to be a one-way door that can only be opened from inside the room. When she tries to open it, the metal door swings open easily.
If she could be sure there would be something ordinary to strike with her glaive instead of more traps or puzzles, Inge would have no hesitation about proceeding first. As it is, she feels out of her element. And hungry. She feels hungry, as always of course.
Nevertheless, Inge volunteers to go first, glaive held in one hand, taking the dodge action.
"Any chance for your primal guidance if you're going to be right behind me, Nature Walker?" She grins at Wadi again as she asks.
With Myrla bringing up the back with Brix, she cranes her neck to get a look at what lies ahead. With about an hour inside this monument, she feels that they progress too slow. Surely, they already got farther than the previous conquerers but she thought it would be different. So far this monument seems more like a trial where they are tested for something rather than an actual threat that must be defeated.
