Myrla's attack glances off the bone and she can feel the impact reverberates up to her shoulder. The bone is unusually hard despite being made of many bone fragments.
Nearby, Brix can be seen stirring a little. It's quite a relief to see him still alive, but someone has to get to him just in case his condition turns for the worse.
LG21 keeps trying to damage Wadi. There is a certain mindlessness to its movement now that it has no other friends around it. Just like with Myrla before, a burst of green sheen appears around Wadi a moment before the creature's claw would have hit him.
After receiving Milo's attack, the skeletal creature turns toward Milo. It appears to swivel for a moment before deciding on a target. It disregards Milo and focuses on Myrla. Two sharpened and spear-like limbs rush toward Myrla, the first glancing harmlessly off of her armour while the other finds a weak point in her armour.
LG21 uses its Claw at Wadi: 17 to hit [Miss because of the +1 bonus AC] SC attacks Myrla using its limbs twice: 12 to hit [Miss]; 23 to hit for 4 piercing.
"The big one keeps getting stronger every time we knock down one of the little ones. Maybe leave the last little one alone and focus on the big one?"
Inge's voice sounds as uncertain (which she is), though it's clear, with her Rage gone, she is clearly concerned what the "final" version of the amalgamation may turn into if the last of the smaller abominations is destroyed.
(Assuming she can circle LG21 to get within 10' of SC without provoking an opportunity attack from LG21):
Action: Inge lunges awkwardly at the amalgamation with her glaive, her balance thrown off a bit by switching targets. Glaive to hit SC: 10 Glaive damage: 13 slashing
Bonus Action: Inge then swings the haft of her glaive around to thump the amalgamation in its torso with a bit better luck (Polearm Master bonus attack): Glaive back-end to hit SC: 18 Glaive back-end damage: 8 bludgeoning
Milo will be doing a bit of self preservation. He will be staying 20ft away other than attacking (40ft movement, and no AoO from anyone he attacks, regardless if it hits, so on all turns until this thing dies, he will be moving in 20ft, attacking, and then moving back 20ft).
He swipes another two times, but the bones are just too tough. He is used to fighting living enemies. (10 and 9 to hit. Not rolling damage as Myrla missed with a 10)
„The little one could easily take out one of us if we are not careful! If you agree with keeping it busy, Wadi, until we finish his large brother, be doubly careful and best dodge their attacks.“ Myrla advices while dancing around the large monstrosity and trying to bring in a hit of her own after it got her good.
Action: attack with rapier @SC, hit 8 for a miss I guess.
Wadi looks questioningly at his hand in surprise at what happened. He turns his attention to Brix and with the same feeling stretches out his arm and reaches out to heal the little redheaded gnome. (4 points of healing)
Feeling as though the same healing energy was transferred to Brix, he again turns his attention to the creature in front of him (presuming it is still up) (18 to hit with 7 damage). NEVER MIND; already used my BA - Swinging the end of the staff back into the creature's groin. (14 to hit and 7 damage)
{{10 is indeed a miss. And Wadi, are you attacking LG21 or SC? I assume SC because Inge suggested it?}}
Inge lunges at the skeletal creature, leaving the last ghoulish creature in fear of its death giving the skeletal creature more strength. In her brief moment of hesitation, the skeletal creature parries away her first strike. Filled with determination, she swings the back of her glaive toward the centre point of the skeleton, causing a hairline fracture on the bone.
Distracted by the many limbs of the skeletal creature, both Myrla and Milo fail to find purchase with their blades. Sometimes, the limbs are erratic in their movement and it appears to add a layer of protection to the skeletal creature's centre point.
Wadi reaches deep within himself for that same energy, and it once again obeys his query and wraps around Brix. Trusting his instinct that this energy will heal Brix as it had healed Inge before, he focuses on fending off the ghoulish creature and attacking the skeletal creature at the same time. His strike shatters one of the skeletal creature's limbs. Despite knowing how brittle bones are to bludgeoning, this skeletal creature doesn't appear to have the same weakness. The shattered bones slowly reform and form another limb. It is shorter than the rest but appears more compact to probably counter the fractures and brittleness along its length.
With a shuddering breath, Brix slowly opens his eyes, feeling a little bit better. Still feeling the heat around him, he rolls toward cooler ground before attempting to stand.
LG21 keeps trying to claw at Wadi, but still cannot find a weak spot that its claws can pierce through.
After getting into Myrla's defences before, the skeletal creature tries again. With the help of its many limbs, it manages to confuse Myrla enough that one of its lance-like limbs pierces through Myrla's stomach. Without pulling out its limb, it carries Myrla's limp body with it as it moves toward Ingeand attempts to curb-stomp her. Inge manages to move quickly enough.
LG21 attacks Wadi with Claw: 8 to hit [Miss] SC attacks Myrla with Pike Limb: 25 to hit [crit; 18 piercing damage] SC moves toward Inge and attacks with Hoof Limb: 11 to hit [Miss]
{{My first crit in this campaign and I feel bad about it. Well, Myrla, death save for you. The rest of you, it's your turn. Also, I hope you don't mind me taking some liberty with Brix's movement and Wadi's attack target. Let me know if you want to change the movement or attack target.}}
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
{{No need to feel bad about it. Any normal blow could have taken her out. First levels are always tough. And it is totally my fault, Myrla attacked when she should have dodged, that would have been much smarter.}}
When the bone lance pierced right through her leather into her stomach, Myrla drops her rapier and looks down incredulously, her mind still refusing to accept the situation as her vision blacks out.
Finding more courage than he thought he possessed, Brix rushes toward Myrla. I don't think he can make it this turn but if he does he will use spare the dying
Milowill repeat his darting forwards, attacking, and darting back, his rage at Myrla being impaled leading him to a focussed precision, aiming to cut the arm holding her off from the mass.
In her rage at seeing Myrla's unconscious body, Inge roars and attacks the creature. Her strikes are uncontrolled, causing the creature to easily parry them. Fortunately, it makes the creature distracted and Milo manages to sneak behind its back to pierce several critical points on the central sphere. Several limbs fall down to the ground before they turn to fine white bone dust. The pinkish hue of the creature also starts to lose its vibrancy.
Seeing Brix rushing to take care of Myrla, he changes focus back to the enemy in front of him. He swings his staff down at the shoulder of the creature (24 to hit for 6 damage). He brings the staff around and with the butt end he stabs it into the creature (12 to hit for another 6 damage).
Wadi hits the creature with one end of his staff and double back to hit it with the other end. The staff bashes the creature's head and midsection with a loud and deafening crack. Its skin peels off and melts, revealing finely crushed bone fragments. Parts of the fragments are immediately absorbed by the skeletal amalgamation, but some of them, the ones that are almost like dust, remains on the ground.
The skeletal creature ambles south toward Milo, knowing that he is the one that has been doing the most damage to it. The creature drags Myrla's body with it as she is still partially lodged to one of its limbs. With the same fervour as when it attacked Myrla, the limbs move in a flurry as the creature attempts to hit Milo. Eventually, the many limbs confuse Milo enough for one sharp limb to stab him. Noting Milo's fallen form, the creature turns toward Inge and detaches one of its limbs before throwing it at Inge like a spear. In her anger, Inge easily bats away the limb before it reaches her.
LG21 is dead. SC attacks Milo with Pike Limb: 21 to hit [12 piercing] SC attacks Inge with Spear Limb: 13 to hit [Miss].
{{Before the end of Round #7, Inge and Wadi get to make an Attack of Opportunity as SC leaves their range. Top of Round #8. Death save for Milo. No need for death save for Myrla because I assume Brix will continue his action to use spare the dying on her on the new round (#8) because this round (#7) he is not quite close enough.}}
Brix body convulses as the little redheaded gnome clings to the mortal world.
