Milo, the door is a plain wooden one. There are no inscriptions whatsoever.
As Wadi moves to close the door, the spinning dust stops and three creatures appear. It is small, akin to the fairies in storybooks, however these are not as beautiful. They are tiny humanoids, flying in the air with a pair of leathery wings. All three of them appear old with wrinkled skin and bowed postures. Dust and sand seem to coil around them, even dripping from their very skin. They screech and blast out a cone of dust storm, stronger than even the lazy spin of the cyclone previously, toward the door as everyone exits and Wadi attempts to close it.
Myrla, Milo, Wadi, and Inge all recognize these creatures. They are commonly found in the White Waste since the Emergence. The locales are calling them mephits.
{{I need Myrla, Wadi, and Inge to make a Dex save as you escape the room.}}
Sorry, I'm beginning to enter a vacation period and while I will try to check-in at least daily, I cannot promise that I will always be able to do so. From September 1, I should be back to normal.
Closing the door, Myrla, Inge, and Wadi cough and try to clean themselves from the dust and sand. As the last person out, Inge takes the brunt of the dust storm, blinding her for quite some time before her vision returns.
"While I am all for killing those mephits, I am not sure if it is as simple as that. It hopefully is, but none of these rooms have been as simple as that so far." while talking, Milo will attempt to help remove some of the dust, but being short, can't do much.
"I've killed mephits before and they don't look any different. I'd say we can try and take them out and then we sort out what to do to continue. They've attacked us, first. But yeah, so far there was always more to the rooms but I guess nothing bad can come from killing a few aggressive mephits... or so I hope." Myrla helps to keep the door shut until Inge confirms that her vision has returned. "If we go in there again, we have to be on our guard. They likely try that stunt again." Once we open the door (and Myrla waits for someone else to do that), Myrla will prepare to dodge incoming attacks before stepping inside.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
When Myrla opens the door again, there is no sight of the mephits. The dust cyclone in the middle of the room seems to have reappeared, thinner and less powerful. With less build-up of dust in the air, it is easy to spy an archway at the southern side of the room. However, Myrla has experienced mephits enough to know that they are only hiding and bidding their time.
True enough, as soon as Myrla steps into the room again and her boots makes some dust fly upwards, the dust cyclone disappears and the mephits reappear. They let out another screech and Myrla prepares to dodge away, but nothing comes out of them. Instead, one of them blows out a sparkling cloud of sand over Myrla. A severe drowsiness quickly overcome her, and she falls backwards out of the room, unconscious. She seems to be asleep. Some who are standing close to the door also starts to feel drowsy that they also start falling asleep while standing before the others who stand the furthest from the door could wake them up.
The mephit could be seen chittering angrily that their target is once again out of the room. Their form becomes hazy before the dust cyclone reappears and the mephits disappears into the cyclone.
{{OOC, the roll doesn't show up, but the Mephit is casting the Sleep spell for 28.}}
Myrla feels the magic targeted at her but she can resist it easily enough. Her kind isn't one to fall asleep. Nevertheless, some in her group won't resist so easily so she prefers to step back and outside the chamber again to help wake them up. "Dastardly mephits play with us. I'll try to sneak in next time. Or is there some way to block line of sight? Can anyone of you conjure illusions? Or some of us could hide on the cart under a tarp and someone pushes us in. Perhaps, there is some way to surprise them and bring in a shot."

With the door open, this is also the first time anyone notices that the dust does not come out of the room. It is as if there is a mystical barrier on the door blocking the dust from coming out. It appears the corridor is a safe space.
With the door open once again, Myrla ventured a shot at a location where she thought she saw the dust deflecting oddly.

The dust still billows and seems unchanged. When both of Wadi and Myrla's attacks go through the dust cloud, there is a faint chittering from within the dust cloud followed by a clatter. There is no response to the attack and the dust remains unchanged. The mephits are still not visible and there are no signs that the attacks reached them.

Dust gets in her eyes, mouth and nose and she has an uncharacteristic coughing fit.

As soon as his companions are through the door Brix slams it closed. "Is everyone okay? What should we do now?"

Inge is cursing a blue streak as she exits the room. Starting to get angry. (Still blinded for a few more moments...)

Just pop out... come on... one time... try to put Myrla and me to sleep again...
