This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Kirinar nods in agreement. "Sounds like a fair distribution of assets. And I concur that a quick rest can be a benefit to us all!" He will drag the corpses into a corner of an adjacent room and lock or bar the entrances/exits the best he can, then finds Faen and sits next to her.
"So you can transform into an elk?!? That is amazing! I wonder if you'd let me ride you?...Oh...oh no...I didn't mean...not like that...I mean, not that I wouldn't like to, but...that's not helping...I'm...I...just...need to stop talking now..." A brighter shade of red could not possibly exist on the young man's face!
Keyleth rolls her eyes as Kirinar somehow manages to put more feet in his mouth than he has, stepping over near the two and pulling out her eagle-eye goggles. Looking at the goggles she says in elven, as if muttering to herself, "You okay with this? Want me to sit with you?" Looking at Faen for a nonverbal response she will sit with her back against the wall, depending on the druid's body language, either next to her or at the opposite corner of the room, examining the goggles as the group rests.
Faen’s face is displaying a mixture of pity, confusion, and maybe a hint of just “why is this me right now.” Ignoring the latter part of the question, Faen says, “Um yes, I can turn into an elk among a few different things and yes I would agree that it is pretty cool,” posture a bit more stiff and uncomfortable.
Also Faen was going to examine the wand that we found
Ransyl finds a place on the floor, sits, crosses his legs and removes the luckstone from his pack. He closes his eyes and concentrates on the stone he is now holding in his hands. At the same time he takes large breaths - inhaling and exhaling. Through this time of meditation, he regains, strength, energy, and feels bonded to this small artifact.
The flustered fighter will shuffle over a bit, giving the poor elf some room to study her new wand and himself some room to recover from the near-fatal wound he had just caused himself! He will spend the rest of the time tending to his wound, applying some salve and wrapping a bandage around it under his armor. He will meditate on the previous fights, going over them in his mind to learn from them. (Ready to go - no magic items here.)
When the group is done resting, Keyleth says, "Is everyone feeling restored and ready to continue? I'm assuming the inner sanctum or whatever it is is through the northern door there." She gestures toward the door. "I'm going to go invisible and try to get myself behind the leader, or failing that, find a good hiding spot, once we get in there. I assume we'll try talking first, but if you think it's gone south, put your left hand over your mouth as though you're considering what's being said. I'll use that as my cue to attack. I'll go through the door in the middle of the group so it doesn't look like it's being held open on its own, but once we're through I'll slip out in front so I can keep an eye out for any... environmental hazards that might be between us and them."
She pulls out the potion of invisibility from her bag. When they are ready to move on, just before the group opens the door, she will drink the potion.
Kirinar will nod that he is ready and take the lead position, opening the door and stepping through. He steps in far enough to let the invisible rogue step past, only to have her goose him and make him squeak in a very unmanly way!
You step out the door and find yourself on another balcony that is 5 feet wide. A 15 foot long bridge is before you and it leads to another 5 foot wide balcony.
A reptilian stone head, toothy jaws opened wide, dominates the far side of this short stone bridge, the carved coils of the creature forming an impassable barrier framed by scenes of writhing and rearing serpents. The entire door has been roughly colored over with charcoal, blackening the stone.
Standing guard before the door is a kobold of a more impressive build than most, her face smeared with charcoal in a skull-like pattern and a set of small wings folded like a cloak around her shoulders. Barking something, she brandishes a spear but remains on guard, waiting.
Ransyl takes a strip of leather from his belt and threads it through the silver serpent ring, tying it around his neck as a prize (and as a warning to any who would cross him). With his new necklace swinging from his neck, he sheathes his axes, picks up a Kobold spear and heads out the door.
At the sight of the guard, he mutters “here we go again.”

Yes
Go ahead and mark a short rest on the character sheets. You can each attune one item if you have one that needs it.
When you are all ready to go post what you did during the rest and what your next move is.
It will be late afternoon after the short rest.

“Faen, would you have the ability to detect magic in items? I’m curious if there is anything - blessing or curse - special about this ring.”

OoC: Did she bark something in Draconic, by any chance? I think Faen speaks that...

No one in the party understood what was said. It was basically a barking sound drawing your attention to her.

For reference you came through the door at the bottom. The kobold is standing in front of the door at the top.
OoC: So the guard is just standing watching us approach, neither talking to us nor making an aggressive move?

Correct. She is just standing guarding the door watching you, well maybe not you since your invisible, but you *collectively*.
“Greetings! We wish an audience with your leader. We attempted a peaceful negotiation with Wruenele, but he decided not to take us up on our offer.”
Ransyl pauses and admires his new jewel, then resumes - standing tall with his new spear as a walking stick.
He continues, “We seek peace between Lizardfolk, Kobolds, and the people of Mire’s Edge. Would you please pass this word along?”
