"A rightful place awaits you in the Realms Above, in the Land of the Great Light. Come in peace, and live beneath the sun again, where trees and flowers grow."
— The message of Eilistraee to all decent drow.
"Run thy sword across my chains, Silver Lady, that I may join your dance.”
Iólinder feels a bit overwhelmed. For all of his focus on mastering war he may be missing more important things between comba.
As he enters the room with the lava and rune he tries to shake the fog from his mind and look around for anything that could be useful... Any way that HE could prove useful... After a quick prayer...
(If Zarbyn looks carefully, he concludes this is not a traditional type of key. The Rune is the key. He will need to find a template of a rune in the main room that matches. It is a runic alphabet of sorts)
Iólinder begins looking about the room. He sees an assortment of tools used in smithing. On the workbench, he also sees a collection of Runes on blocks of stone, that potentially could be used to mark weapons and armor. (maybe over 30). Perhaps one of them will match that of Rune Zarbyn is examining. He also sees something strange. In a corner is a rack holding both finished and unfinished weapons. (swords, axes, etc). He thought he saw something move.
Iólinder gets a bit closer to the weapon rack. He thinks he sees a battleaxe and maybe a long sword, move just slightly. Almost as if they were touched by something. Lira feels a bit uncomfortable in the room. Her cold resistance has helped her in the outdoor tundra and mountain environment but it is uncomfortable for her in this room, the lava naturally heating it. She has an uncanny feeling that they are being watched. (Lira Perception check but tell me where you are looking in the room)
Lev
Lev experiences another vision, which does not come as a surprise to him. He sees a tall, imposing male figure, either human or dark elf, dressed in black, forcing a dwarven warrior clad in plate armour to kneel. There appears to be a psychic battle taking place, but ultimately, the dwarf's eyes turn black as his will is overcome. The elf is observed casting various spells or enchantments within the room. As Lev surveys the surroundings, seemingly from the perspective of the dwarf, he notices a finely crafted anvil on the workbench, which is absent from the room at present. The elf approaches the anvil and continues casting spells, evidently attempting to manipulate its magical properties. Suddenly, Lev feels a forceful push and perceives himself falling into lava, unable to move or scream. As you falls in helplessly, you see something that stands out, more than the anvil.
A scale, with a center piece, an arm going out left and right, and two saucers hanging, but one side is heavily weighted with....
The vision abruptly ends, and Lev finds himself back in the room, lying on the ground. "Free me." (He hears the dwarf say in his mind, yet nothing is spoken out loud by the paralyzed soul)
Lev sits up gingerly, hand going to his head as his eyes remain fixed on the floor ahead of him. Another vision? Why was he not surprised.
"I'm... alright," he says to Lira. In spite of his words he stays seated for a moment, trying to piece together what he just saw and heard and what it all meant. He runs a hand over his eyes and lets out a breath before slowly climbing to his feet.
He takes a moment, brow farrowing slightly when he sees Iolinder swinging his staff at the axe, "What...are you doing?"
Shaking his head, his eyes go to where he'd seen the workbench and anvil and then he walks towards it. Gritting his teeth he wonders if he should even bother saying what he saw. After all, no one saw the ghostly woman while they were dealing with the child spirit. Yet... that time he hadn't passed out. That's what happened just now right? He put his hand to his head again, the image of the scale flashing across his mind once more. What in the world is happening to him... and why?
Vydar glances around the room. "There's a lot of residual magic here." He says glancing around, wiping some sweat off his forehead as he does so. What happened here? Is this magic from enchanting weapons? Or is it something else?
Perception: 18 Arcana: 20
He glances over at Lev with a bit of surprise. What's wrong with him? Is the heat getting to him that much?
Zarbyn feels the residue of arcane power and wonders for a brief moment before asking Vydar, "Hey Vydar, have you ever heard of the leyline theory, that some places which are located where two or more of these leylines cross over each other are places where ancient magic resides? Think about all the wonderfully magical weapons that were created here, in this very place."
Zarbyn spins around slowly facing every direction of the compass, just to bask in the essence of it all.
"It's like we're bathing in it!"

"Run thy sword across my chains, Silver Lady, that I may join your dance.”
Lira examines Lev, who seems fine, just a bit dazed. Just then, Iólinder strikes at the weapon rack. (gonna give advantage on first hit and I rolled for you a 16+5), hitting the battle axe that was sort of balancing on itself. As the cleric swings again, the battle axe flies up in the air, and misses the evasive weapon.
A long sword launches up as well, as does the shaft of another axe (club).
Combat started:
Lira: 20
Vydar: 20
Amdaeng: 18
Weapons: 16
Morric 15
Zarbyn 13
Lev: 12
Iólinder: 6 (last attack was a surprise round for him only).
Note: the first attack on the axe was Binning Blade... That having hit the target (three axe) will take 1d8 thunder damage if it moves 5 feet from where it is.
Vydar looks at Zarbyn with an almost offended look. "Of course I have."He replies, "I'm sure it's possible that there could be a layline here, but the magic in this room - "
His words are cut off as the loud clang of Iolinder's staff hitting the battle axe reverberates through the room. His hand goes to his sword, but before he draws it his eyes flash and suddenly everything in the room becomes outlined in a red glow.
Casts Faerie Fire on the Battle axe (hoping that since it can't see it won't gain advantage on any of us). Dex save for being unaffected: 11
(unless I’m misreading the spell, all players and creatures make a dc11 Dex save.)
Fairie fire:
Each object in a 20-foot cube within range is outlined in blue, green, or violet light (your choice). Any creature in the area when the spell is cast is also outlined in light if it fails a Dexterity saving throw. For the duration, objects and affected creatures shed dim light in a 10-foot radius. Any attack roll against an affected creature or object has advantage if the attacker can see it, and the affected creature or object can’t benefit from being invisible.

Lira notices Iolinder looking ready for combat and trails behind him, subtly drawing Needle in case she needs to assist.

(The battle axe seems to be not touching the back of the rack, it is standing on just the shaft, impossibly balanced)
Lira tilts her head slightly when she notices the weapon balancing somehow. Is the axe itself animated, or held by an invisible creature perhaps?
Arcana: 21
"Iolinder, there," she murmurs, gesturing to the axe.

Vydar/ Zarbyn
Vydar and Zarbyn feel like the room is heavy in a sort of residue of magic. A sense of enchantments, rituals. A lot has happened in this room.
iólinder raises his staff and brings it down onto the axe itself while casting booming blade.
7 to hit... I doubt it does. But 6 force damage if it does.
War priest bonus action attack
13 to hit for 6 force damage
While (ineffectively) swinging his staff at the axe Iólinder begins considering possible enemies that could moving invisibly to trip his allies.
"Lev?" Lira hurries over to him, trying to figure out what is wrong. The oppressive heat of the room makes it difficult for her to concentrate.
