Hyalithza will make her way up to Gaelan upon reuniting with the party, drawing her revolver. Not saying a word she will hold it up and point the barrel so it is aimed right in his face. "Gonna say this once and only once. If you ever touch me like that again then I'm gonna unload the entire cylinder right between your eyes." With little fanfare she lowers her revolver and holsters it, giving him an overly cheerful grin her she makes her way towards Modac and Eririkur.
"So we got the doc on the train guess now all we need to do is keep an eye on em. I'm fine with keeping back to deal with anyone that tries to get close since yall seem to already know and trust each other. But regardless of that I am going to be in on any planning so we can at least try not to have any mistakes."
Eirikur watches the group approaching with a sense of accomplishment. The body language confirms that the objective had been completed successfully. As Hyalithza pulls iron on Gaelan, Eirikur tenses up, prepared to leap into action like a coiled spring, but resists the urge. If Gaelan had been truly in danger, he would have reacted decisively. His delayed response tells Eirikur that Gaelan already has deemed the pointed gun as little more than a threat, empty or real. Eirikur relaxes some, though he curses at Mr. Harrington again under his breath.
As Gaelan scans the area and Modoc gives Eirikur an update, Eirikur feels a sense of relief wash over him. One less thing to worry about. He offers Modoc an approving smile as he steps away from Silas. "You are great with probing questions. Spend some time with Dr. Bailey. See what you can learn of the man. I'll stay with the freight. I... may have given someone the impression that I work here and should do my best to connect the man to someone who can actually help." After a momentary pause, he continues. "Dr. Bailey is used to people serving him. Do whatever you want, but I made it clear to him that serving him is not your job and he will address you with respect. If he crosses a line, you can ignore his requests. I trust your judgement. We are to get him to his destination alive, not in comfort."
Eirikur regards Hyalithza for a moment. "You are part of our crew now and it will disrupt our mission to treat you as anything but. Any initial concerns I had about your addition was more a consequence of important details not being communicated to us when we took the job. It is not a reflection on you so much as our employer. Dr. Bailey has requested that two watch the freight and I need someone to scout the train for suspicious persons. I am sure we have saboteurs aboard already. Normally, that is work for Gaelan, but I would like to see what you can do. Would you prefer to watch some boxes with me or perforate potential assassins in the shadows?"
Gaelan smiles, nods, and tips his hat to Hyalithza, "I already owe you one, lookin' forward to the others."
Returning to seriousness, he waits to see where he'll be assigned. Guard a man or guard his treasures? Either would be fine. It would probably look suspicious if he were to work with his Drow companion right away though - others must have seen the scuffle.

"I am fine with scouting out the train. I would like one other person to join me since two sets of eyes are always better then one." Hyalithza says as she leans against the wall of the car, turning to look at Gaelan with a very obvious glare. "Just not with that one. It would not be wise to have us near each other until my trigger finger isn't itching."

Hyalithza says as she leans against the wall of the car, turning to look at Gaelan with a very obvious glare. "Just not with that one. It would not be wise to have us near each other until my trigger finger isn't itching."
"Well," Eirikur frowns, "I want Modoc with Dr. Bailey initially because he is surprisingly skilled at being friendly and in particular, Modoc is thoughtful. I am anchored here for the moment until I can ensure that there will be no retaliation from a mislead and very angry individual. Your options are to enjoy watching some boxes with me, spend time enjoying conversation with Dr. Bailey and Modoc, or to run through the train. If you would like to spend time with Modoc, we can get by with Gaelan searching the train while I stand guard over our crates until I can get this issue sorted."
He leans back against a crate, crossing his arms as a long coil of wavy white hair falls in front of his face. "Someone must always be with the crates and someone must always be with Dr. Bailey. This leaves us few options to proactively search for enemies, and our current circumstances limit our options further."
"That is fair. I can walk the train for the time being, but I will not stray to far from the good Doctor. It would be wise for us to all be able to reach him or his cargo if needed." Hyalithza says as she pushes herself off the wall, slowly making her way towards the door to the next car. "Since it is possible for one of us to catch on to something another may miss perhaps we should have a set schedule for how long each of us performs a specific task. Merely a suggestion but one to consider I think."
"A good one. We will use your first run through the train as a benchmark." Eirikur nods to Hyalithza, then to Modoc to indicate they are free to complete their tasks. He then turns to Gaelan. "Since you are a bit free now, help me come up with some ideas on how to deal with my new problem..."
OOC: Eirikur then updates Gaelan on his sticky situation with Silas, since they only have until all items are loaded to come up with a solution.
"... So, I think finding the actual person in charge is a start, but if that doesn't work, what are your thoughts?"
Modoc will nod to the others and catch up to Dr. Bailey and assist him with finding a seat. He'll sit where he will be between the doctor and the rest of the car and have a good view of the other passengers. "We've completed your requests. Are you excited for this journey?" Modoc starts professional, but ends in a friendly tone.
*Is the passenger car(s) more privately divided, like separate cabins, or completely open?
Those watching the crates, notice the porters here must be new as they shakily load the crates. They seem rather clumsy, and you begin hearing the clinking of glass in Dr. Bailey's crates as they mishandle it. If allowed any further, they assuredly would break part of Dr. Bailey's invention.
Silas started barking at the porters making them even clumsier.
Gaelen as you watch the people there are indeed an assortment of people boarding including other scientists and rough looking folks with assortment of weapons. Some with guns, others with blades. You definitely get the vibe that this trip will be an interesting one where you may need stay on your toes.
Dr. Bailey nods to Modoc's question "I am indeed excited. This is a chance of a lifetime. The winner will personally see they invention be mass produced by the renowned Hellstromme Industries. It is not the money that excites me but having my name in the history books and to share my invention with the world."
"You've already done quite a lot with I.C.E. and the Omni-Enhancer. Was this yours too?" Modoc shows him the empty bottle. "But for that much glory there must be a lot of people competing for it. Anyone you recognize?" Modoc looks at the other passengers, specifically the more nicely dressed ones.

Eirikur rushes over to Dr. Bailey's crates. "Steady now." He says in a calming voice as he places his hand on the leading crate. He then holds the other out to halt the others from being loaded. "One at a time. These ones are fragile. I will help."
Eirikur, being the paranoid sort, eyes the porters working Dr. Bailey's crates suspiciously, searching for any ill-intent or deception.
He also stares threateningly at Silas. "Sir, you will let them do their job or you will find another train."
OOC: Not sure how you want to have me roll a 'steadying' assist, strength or dex, so I'll wait for your call on that. But the Insight is... 9 and the Intimidation is 9. I just am beside myself at how badly I roll with Eirikur. Outside of combat, my average roll is a 7 lol. I do decent in combat though, so the gods are telling me to slay Silas and the porters. :P
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Hyalithza will begin her walk through the train, making sure to keep an eye on anyone that seems to be either suspicious or heavily armed for a passenger locomotive. If she finds nothing of interest after her trek she will return to Eririkur to report her findings.
Not sure which to go for so here is a roll for both Perception and Investigation.
Hyalithza does indeed find heavily armed people. Perhaps they are pioneers ready to settle the strange lands to the west or they may be here for other less than inspiring reasons.

The Hellstromme Express is divided into
The passenger car has open seating with enough seats for 50 people.
