The 3 of you rush into the cab and sees the engineer and boilerman franticly trying to slow the train down.
The engineer yells of loud locomotive "What in the Hells are you doing here? Can't you see we are in a crisis."
There is a panel set in the floor that can be lifted to reach the mechanic workings of the locomotive. The groan of metal continues, and it is clear that if this train does not slow down soon it will come apart at the seams.
"Remind me if this doesn't ene badly to tell them so called geniuses to stay in their damn seats and do nothing else." Hyalithza says as she moves to try and discern if she can figure out anything about the various additions that had been added.
Eirikur, not knowing exactly what the modifications are, will identify the nearest thing that looks 'sciency' and, jamming his newly purchased crowbar into the space between it and the train, he will do his best to pry it free. "Gyyyyahhhh!"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Hyalithza glares at the objects as her hand hovers between her revolver or the large hunting knife(dagger) on her belt. Deciding it would be wiser to avoid causing an explosion with her firearm, she draws her knife and begins to stab at the nearest invention she can reach. "Is anyone else regretting recently made choices or is that just me?"
OOC: I'm just tickled at the thought of three random people barging into an engineer's cab on a train during an obvious crisis and they just start randomly tearing crap up lol.
The Engineer is in a panic 'Do you even know what you're doing!?"
Modoc pries at the device with his bare hands but it does not budge.
Hyalithza has the undesirable job of handling the magnetic coils underneath the train. Her knife causes a mounting bracket to come loose, but the magnetic coils still stay operational.
Erikur channels his strength and rips off the cyclonic projector. There is a loud hiss as steam escapes and a pressure valve comes flying off almost hitting Erikur as it spins away off of the train. The Train begins to slow but you're not out of the woods yet.
The Boilerman yells "You just made my job harder as I now have to do a patch job on the boiler!"
"I hope that's a good thing!" Eirikur shouts out, partly in response to the lurch and slowing of the train and partly in response to the boilerman. Eirikur then follows up. "Do you recognize everything here? Nothing looks new or... uncommon in design?"
He watches Modoc rebuffed by whatever device he was prying at and assumes it is because the object is meant to be there."Point my friend at whatever you don't recognize and he'll rip it out. I'll go check on Hyal."
Eirikur crawls below, warily watching railway sleepers whiz by at such a speed, that they seem little more than a terrifying blur of brown. A slip here would grind him to pieces between the railway sleepers, ballast, and the train. His grip tightens on the boxcar flooring as he carefully lowers himself below to see the drow. "How goes it?" He yells with a voice that shakes a bit more than he would like.
"Other then having thoughts of throwing these so called scientists off the train I think I am doing fine." Hyalithza says as she pulls her knife back and attempts to jam the blade at the right angle to deal with the magnetic coils.
"Are you alright Hyalithza? While you're down there can you wipe off the pistons or do you want Eirikur or me to clean them?". Modoc calls out to Hyalithza.

Everyone in the cab please roll intelligence check DC 15 to see if you can figure out how to safely dismantle the inventions.
OOC: 5 on that Intelligence check. "It seems to run on some form of electricity!"
IC: "We gathered that. That's why we're here. How can we help?" Eirikur shouts over the sound of the thundering locomotive.

"Let me think, one dude added magnic thingamabobs to the wheels and another added a bicycle project to the steam tank." Modoc says confidently.
The engineer looks pissed "This train was never designed to travel at theses speeds. Darn screwball scientists."
The party can try more brute force approach of destroying the modifications. You can use your strength or weapons to destroy each modification.
If using the more forceful approach, then roll athletics or weapon attacks.
Please also roll a 1d6 - a 1 or 2 will mean an unintended result. Such as the modification blowing up. 3 or above is a pass.
"How did they manage to install these modifications without you knowing?" Modoc questions before getting to work.
Not knowing how his weapons might affect things, Modoc will try to tear out the offending modifications.

The last problem is the lubricant on the pistons needs to be wiped off somehow while the pistons are in motion.
Anyone who tries to remove the lubricant please roll Sleight of Hand and a 1d6
"Are you alright Hyalithza? While you're down there can you wipe off the pistons or do you want Eirikur or me to clean them?". Modoc calls out to Hyalithza.
