Eirikur watches Gaelan deftly dodge the shower of bone fragments with a smile. However, his breath catches as a hail of bone peppers Modoc's flesh. Eirikur grits his teeth and resists the urge to rush in to heal just yet. He quickly cycles through his options and, finding them limited, repeats his casting.
Eirikur watches in horror as Gaelan dodges the array of bony fragments that are launched at him. Eirikur can see the lack of confidence in his friend's movements - something is wrong. Perhaps a stumble that he is still regaining his balance from, a twisted ankle, or simply the sheer volume of lethal shards flung at him, but something causes Gaelan to appear slow... uncertain. Gaelan is caught by a bone fragment and lurches, then bones come upon him like ants overtaking some hapless prey that had unwittingly wandered into the anthill. His body is riddled with the bones of countless creatures, causing Gaelan to reel in pain. Footing no longer secure, he is unable to get under the pull of the vacuum as the bony creature sucks Gaelan into its belly. As the flaps that make up its mouth slap shut with satisfaction that comes with having finally won its prize, a silence falls upon the battlefield, which is broken first by the anguished cry of his friend.
"GAELAN!!!"
Eirikur advances, rushing up to be just outside the range of where the bony fragments have tilled the landscape. He utters his prayer and creates his divine gesture as again, necromantic energy flows through him and out from pores in his soul.
OOC: Action, Toll the Dead! Wisdom save 14 or it will take 16 necromantic damage.
Eirikur then draws his sword from his half-scabbard with a wild yank, then readies it over his shield in preparation for his advance. "I'll carve him right from your belly, you vile, cankerous slug."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Seeing the creature eat one of their group, Hylizatha curses in her native tongue, deciding to continue to stay back as far as she can. "If we come out of this in one piece I'm gonna cut out the doc's tongue! Man needs to just keep his damn mouth shut!" As she finishes she fires off another two shots.
