After a night of deep rest at the inn, Fuifui felt her strength fully restored, her wounds from the previous encounters now just a dull memory. Her mind was clear and focused as she prepared for her next venture into Deadman’s Canyon. The thrill of hunting criminals, as opposed to dealing with demons, had given her a sense of purpose, and she wasn’t one to back down easily.
Fuifui gathered her gear, adjusting the straps of her pack and ensuring her weapons were in place. With the two healing potions tucked safely at her side, she set off once again toward Deadman’s Canyon. The bounty posted by Liam Stonehand still weighed on her mind—there were criminals hiding in the canyon, and Fuifui was determined to bring them to justice.
As she traveled south toward the canyon, the rugged terrain became familiar. The King’s Road stretched far in the distance, but Fuifui knew the quicker route was through the Badlands. Her muscles felt strong, and her movements light, as she recalled the narrow escape from the goblins. This time, she was ready for anything the canyon might throw her way. Stealthily, she wandered the canyon on the outlook for face she might recognise from the posters.
Encounter (201): 60 Two Hobgoblins Stealth: 17 Initiative: 20
Moving with practiced stealth, Fuifui scouted the rough terrain of Deadman’s Canyon, her senses keen as she searched for signs of the wanted criminals. Her patience was rewarded when she spotted two hobgoblins who matched the descriptions from the bounty posters. They stood talking near a rocky outcrop, unaware of her presence.
Her eyes narrowed in focus as she silently crept closer, every movement calculated and controlled. The hobgoblins were still oblivious to her approach, and Fuifui knew this was her moment to strike. With the element of surprise on her side, she swiftly closed the gap, launching herself at the nearest hobgoblin. Her fists flashed in a blur as she aimed her first blow, determined to down him before they could react.

Fuifui's first attack landed with precision—three decisive strikes aimed to disable the first hobgoblin. Two connected solidly, one to the ribs and another to the jaw, sending him crumpling to the ground before he even had a chance to react.
Without pausing, Fuifui spun toward the second hobgoblin, her strikes swift and sure. However, the hobgoblin was quicker than she anticipated, ducking and sidestepping her blows. Both of her strikes missed their mark, leaving her momentarily off balance as the second hobgoblin prepared to counterattack.
Longsword attack with disadvantage (luck) 21 for 11 damage
The hobgoblin’s counterattack came fast and brutal, his blade slicing through the air and striking Fuifui with a force that sent a shock through her body. She barely managed to twist away, avoiding a killing blow by sheer luck, but the pain from the hit was sharp and real.
Grimacing, Fuifui steadied herself, her breath coming in controlled bursts. She tightened her fists and focused, gathering her strength and preparing to strike back. Her eyes locked on the hobgoblin, her body coiled like a spring, ready to unleash a series of rapid, retaliatory blows.

Fuifui took a brief moment to assess the situation. The hobgoblin was strong, and her body was still reeling from the blow. Rather than risk further injury, she opted for a more calculated approach. With a swift, precise strike, she aimed at a vulnerable spot on the hobgoblin, landing a solid hit that caused him to stumble.
Without hesitation, she reached for her healing potion, uncorking it with one hand while keeping her eyes on her opponent. She downed the liquid quickly, feeling the soothing warmth spread through her body as her wounds began to mend. Reinforced and ready, Fuifui braced for the next exchange, determined to outlast her foe.
The hobgoblin's strike missed, his blade whistling past Fuifui as she dodged to the side. Sensing an opening, Fuifui moved quickly, eager to finish the fight. However, in her haste, her strikes lacked their usual precision, and the wiry hobgoblin managed to evade her blows with surprising agility.
Frustration flickered in her chest, but she kept her focus, stepping back to reassess. She couldn't afford to lose control, knowing that even one mistake could turn the battle. Determined, she prepared herself for the next opportunity, her movements now more measured.

The hobgoblin swung wildly once more, but this time, Fuifui was ready. Seizing the moment, she slipped past his guard and landed a quick, light blow to destabilize him. Without hesitation, she followed up with a devastating kick to the chest, sending him crashing to the ground, motionless.
Fuifui took a quick breath, scanning the area to ensure there were no other threats. Satisfied that the danger had passed, she swiftly collected the hobgoblins' belongings and the necessary proof of her victory. With her spoils in hand, she set off back to town, her mission complete, the weight of her successful hunt driving her forward.

After a few intense days of hunting criminals and honing her skills, Fuifui felt a shift within herself. Her experiences in Deadman's Canyon and the near-fatal encounters had strengthened her resolve and honed her mastery of the Way of Mercy. She had learned to better balance her healing abilities with her deadly strikes, bringing harm and healing in perfect harmony.
Returning to town, she handed over seven gold coins to the innkeeper for another week’s stay, her mind focused on reflection. She spent the entire day in quiet meditation, centering herself, reviewing her past battles, and aligning her mind and body in harmony. Her wounds had healed, but now her focus was on perfecting her control over both destruction and restoration.
The next morning, refreshed and at peace, Fuifui felt ready for a new challenge. The Darkwood Forest loomed on the horizon, teeming with all manner of creatures. Warden Thorne's bounty on monstrosities called to her, a chance to further test her growing abilities. With her senses heightened and her body in sync with her mind, she ventured into the Darkwood, moving with the silent grace she had cultivated.
Her goal was simple: track down her quarry and strike before the creature even knew she was there. The forest was vast, and the hunt could take hours, but Fuifui was patient and focused, knowing that her new skills would guide her in this latest hunt.
Encounter Table 302: One Peryton Stealth: 25 Initiative: 22
Height: 60 feet high in the tree (5+1d12*5) - perhaps require some check if there is a natural 1 or 20 in the attack rolls? Athletics (1 roll per 30 feet, DC 10?): 13, 18
Fuifui moved silently through the Darkwood Forest, her sharp eyes catching the silhouette of a Peryton perched high in a massive tree, its antlers and birdlike wings making it an unmistakable monstrosity. She paused, her breath steady, assessing the situation. The creature was 60 feet above, and she knew the danger the height posed if she were to fall.
Undeterred, Fuifui began her ascent. Her hands gripped the rough bark as she climbed, her muscles coiled and ready, each movement precise and deliberate. She made her way up, 30 feet at first, testing the tree’s sturdiness and making sure her footing was secure.
As she reached the 60-foot mark, her heart pounded, not from fear but from the thrill of the hunt. The Peryton remained unaware, perched in its lofty position. Fuifui steadied herself, her body poised to pounce. She was fully aware of the danger—one wrong move could send her plummeting to the forest floor below, a fall that could easily be fatal. But her resolve was firm.
When the moment came, she would leap at the Peryton, ready to grab hold of the creature with all her strength. If they fell together, she was determined to hold on for dear life, using her training to control the descent and avoid the worst of the impact. She inhaled deeply, preparing for the leap, every sense attuned to the challenge ahead.

Fuifui seized the moment, using her element of surprise to strike the Peryton with a quick, solid blow. The creature screeched in shock, its wings flaring as it twisted to face its attacker. Fuifui followed up by attempting to grapple the beast, but the first attempt slipped off its feathered body. Undeterred, she adjusted her grip and, on the second try, locked her arms around the Peryton's torso, holding it tight.
With the creature now in her grasp, Fuifui delivered two more powerful strikes. Though her fists landed solidly, the Peryton’s tough hide absorbed much of the force. The beast, still reeling from the unexpected assault, flailed in a rage. It whipped its antlers toward her, trying to break free as it turned to attack its assailant.
Fuifui braced herself, fully aware that the battle was far from over.

The Peryton flailed in its fury, attempting to gore Fuifui with its sharp antlers and slash with its talons. She twisted and dodged within the entanglement, barely evading the dangerous attacks. Fuifui managed to land a punch, but it barely made an impact on the creature's resilient form.
As the struggle intensified, the Peryton finally tried to gore her but she could easily deflect he attempt but then it also lashed out, its talons raking across her side. Fuifui grunted in pain, feeling the sharp sting of the wound. In her moment of distraction, her attempts to strike back missed their mark entirely.
Despite the pain coursing through her, Fuifui knew she had to stay focused. She tightened her grip, determined to outlast the beast and turn the fight in her favor.

After another round of exchanged blows, both combatants visibly worn down, the Peryton managed to break free from Fuifui’s grip with a powerful twist of its body. Bloodied and injured, the creature spread its wings and fled into the sky, leaving Fuifui perched high in the tree, watching as her quarry escaped.
Frustration gnawed at her, but she knew there was no sense in chasing it further. Carefully, she began her descent, each movement deliberate as she navigated the branches and bark to reach the forest floor. Once grounded, Fuifui took a moment to catch her breath, her body aching from the fight. Empty-handed and wounded, she made her way back to town, her mind already turning to the lessons learned from the encounter.
Fuifui spent the night tossing and turning, her thoughts troubled by the missed opportunity. The encounter with the Peryton played over in her mind, and though her body ached, her determination remained strong. As dawn broke, she made up her mind—she would not let failure hold her back.
The next day, she rose with a renewed resolve. After a quick meal and some basic preparations, Fuifui once again set out into the Darkwood Forest, determined to make the most of this second chance.
Encounter Table 302: One Grick Stealth: 23 Initiative: 4
Perception: 15 Initiative: 20
Order: Fuifui (S), Grick (20), F, G, ...
As Fuifui moved quietly through the dense underbrush of Darkwood Forest, her eyes caught sight of something slithering across the forest floor—a Grick, its serpentine body coiling and uncoiling as it moved through the foliage. The creature’s tentacles twitched, unaware of her presence as it searched for prey.
Fuifui's heart quickened, but her movements remained slow and deliberate. She crouched low, her steps barely making a sound as she carefully crept closer to the creature. Her training kept her focused, every muscle in her body prepared to strike at the opportune moment. The Grick, oblivious to the danger, continued its hunt, while Fuifui closed in, ready to make her move.

Fuifui’s first two strikes connected, but the Grick’s tough hide resisted much of the force. As the creature lashed out with its tentacles, Fuifui deftly deflected them, sidestepping the dangerous beak strike. Seeing her chance, she focused her Ki, channeling it into her next strike to magnify the pain upon impact.
Her critical blow landed with precision, and the Grick slithered desperately in a futile attempt to escape. With a swift, well-placed kick, Fuifui finished it off. Breathing heavily, she stood over the fallen creature, satisfied with her victory. After catching her breath, she made her way back to town to report her success and collect her reward.
After finishing her short rest, Yuno takes her rope back and returns to the marble floored room where the bodies of the imp and the quasit still lay. Now she needs to figure out where she is going to go next. She first climbs the ladder rungs up to the strong wooden hatch in the ceiling. She pushes it but it doesn't budge. "Stuck?" Yuno says confused, "But this place is in active use! What's with all these stuck doors?" She only has one hand since she's on a ladder. She takes out her smith's tools and gets to work on the door to see if she can get it open.
Smith's Tools: 10
Yuno messes with the hatch but she can't get it open. She heads down the ladder and looks at her options again. The door to the north seems promising so she begins heading up the stairs toward it.
Perception: 24
As she is about to turn the handle of the door, she pauses. To her side, she notices a hole in the wall... a trap perhaps? She steps back and then uses the handle of her sword to turn the door handle from a distance while laying low. As she does so, the hole she noticed shoots out a poisoned dart. She tries the handle again and it shoots another dart. Yuno gets to the handle to inspect it more closely with her thieves tools.
Lockpick: 23
She figures out that the door must be turned in a certain way to open it. If it is turned any other way, it will shoot a poison dart. She first disables the trap mechanism and then gets the door open. Beyond is a well-kept room with a small well on the northeast corner. In the center of the room, Yuno finds an altar holding an ornate treasure chest and a few gold coins around it.
Perception: 21
As Yuno steps closer to it, she gets suspicious. She looks at the altar and realizes that it has a pressure plate on it. The treasure is a trap. If she were to try and take it, she would trigger the trap. Instead she steps away and investigates the strange, out-of-place well... Just as she expected, it seems to be where the real treasure is hidden. It is full of water but only up to 5ft. She feels around the well and hits a button. The water drains from the well and the bottom opens up to reveal ladder rungs going down. Heading down the well, Yuno finds the real treasure room of the Fort.
Yuno gets all the treasure before picking up the Driftglobe. "Oooooh~ Shiny! This might sell for a lot." She then returns to the marbled hub area to see where she can explore next.

The following morning the duo perform their rituals. Bargus casting Mage armor for 8 hrs and then doing a arcane recovery to gain back the spell. Both eat and drink some water for preparing for the day. The camp is broke down and they head into the forest.
Yuno now heads up the northwest stairs. It leads her to a small stone room with a window to the west and two simple wooden doors to the south. Yuno steps towards the window and leans out of it to look out. The sun has fully set by now. Stars shine in the blue night sky. The Canyon's wind flows through her hair. Yuno looks down to see the window is above a sheer cliff of extreme height. Yuno comments, "Ah this window is actually a one-way portal straight to the afterlife."
Not wanting to waste any more time she steps back and turns to the two doors to the south. She checks the one closer to the stairs. Opening the door, Yuno finds herself in a large empty wooden room. It seems that both these doors lead to the same room. So now that she's expended this avenue, she heads back downstairs and back towards the basement. There was one more door that she didn't check.
Perception: 16
The door leads down a spiraling staircase The place is dark. Thankfully, Yuno found just the item to help her here. She takes the Drift Globe out and speaks a command word to make it hover around her. Then she uses it to cast Light cantrip to make it glow. Now with her path illuminated and not needing to use a torch, Yuno descends down the stairs. She says to herself, "Hey! This thing is pretty useful!" At the bottom of the stairs, she finds a door but it won't budge. Thankfully, she has just the equipment for it.
Smith's Tools + Crowbar Combo pack: 14 (Adv: 8)
Yuno manages to get the door open and goes in. It is a small narrow stone room. As she enters, Yuno sees her own breath. It is oddly cold down here. She says, "Spooky" On the north wall at the west end of this room is another simple wooden door that seems stuck. However, just like the door that she just opened, Yuno suspects that this door is also barred from the inside.
Smith's Tools + Crowbar Combo: NAT1 (Adv: 19)
Yuno takes out her tools again but instead of carefully opening the door like the last one, she instead Breaks the whole door down. Breaking the door down she enters what looks like the Boss's room. But she doesn't see any Bandit captains. Instead, what she sees is 4 cultists around a summoning circle. Just as Yuno barges in, her interruption throws the cultist's focus off but it is too late. They have finished their ritual. Shadows swirl around the circle and explode out, manifesting a Shadow Demon. The ritual takes a toll on the cultists and they are tired and can't act immediately (Automatically goes last in initiative). The cultist leader, says, "Fool. I don't know who you are or what you want but you have come where you shouldn't. You shall be sacrificed to our god for this transgression."

The demon taunts Yuno telepathically. "YOUR ENTRAILS WILL DECORATE THIS HALL. YOU BLOOD WILL FLOW FOR THE DARK GODS" It then screeches and charges her. However, the light from the Drift globe seems to cause it severe discomfort. Yuno leans back to dodge the attack. She quickly counter-attacks by slashing the demon with both her swords across the chest. Black bloods wisps out of it. The cultists draw their ritual daggers and close in on Yuno. Because of where she is standing, only two of them are able to get into position to attack her but their daggers are aimed very well. One of them is able to plunge his dagger into Yuno's side while the other cuts Yuno's arm.

Longsword attack 12
Action: Unarmed Strike @H1 attack 23 for 4 damage
Bonus: Unarmed Strike @H1 attack 22 for 9 damage (H1 KO)

Treasure:
Driftglobe
80 GP (Wolf treasure)
3 SP 9 CP (Trap treasure)
Yuno gets all the treasure before picking up the Driftglobe. "Oooooh~ Shiny! This might sell for a lot." She then returns to the marbled hub area to see where she can explore next.

Yuno manages to get the door open and goes in. It is a small narrow stone room. As she enters, Yuno sees her own breath. It is oddly cold down here. She says, "Spooky" On the north wall at the west end of this room is another simple wooden door that seems stuck. However, just like the door that she just opened, Yuno suspects that this door is also barred from the
