"Who or what is Oyaminartok? I'm not the best challenge for an athletic contest but perhaps one of my companions is up to the challenge?" Neldak glances at the others in his party.
Etriel Darastrix is also curious about this "Oyaminartok"; she awaits the answer to Neldak's question attentively.
The foreign traveler also considers the challenge offer. From the examples given by the Goliaths, these will be strength-based challenges, which aren't exactly her specialty, nor those of the other party members. After all, accepting the challenge and, possibly, willingly accepting defeat by the more powerful Goliaths could also be a way to cement relationships.
The eladrin huntress thus responds: "It will be difficult to be good challengers for a group of Goliaths whose physical prowess is hard to match, but in the name of sportsmanship and friendly competition, we will do our best."
Danon sizes the Goliaths up but feels lacking, says in support of the others "Yeah, we can have a go, but not too optimistic... I am curious to hear about Oyaminartok though.."

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
"Goliath legends speak of a creature that prowls the far reaches of Icewind Dale, known as Oyaminartok the Winter Walker. She can take the form of either a polar bear or a hulking, bipedal shape obscured by wind and blowing snow. Elders invoke her name to keep young goliaths from wandering too far from home before they’re ready. Besting her in combat is a true show of skill. Something many attempt, but few succeed at. Most fail to find her. Some never return. And other still find her and flee. Though fleeing is still an achievement as they saw her."
(as its the easiest for pbp due to no rolls required. Out of the 4 contests we will do tug of war as that's based just on str score)
The golliaths get some rope and mark out some boundaries. You all hold to one end, they hold to the other. The signal is given to brace by the goliths, and then one of you (I assume Etriel) gets to shout pull. You pull with all your might, but the golliaths are clearly stronger. They don't completly dominate you, and do clearly have to try, but not hard enough to break a sweat.
After winning, one of the golliaths comes over and says "As losers, you are now our servants. Your first task is to" but then bursts out laughing, unable to finish with a straight face. "Pride is the only prize of this contest. If we meet again, I'm happy for a rematch. We are part of the Thuunlakalaga clan from Wyrmdoom Crag"
"Very good!" Etriel Darastrix smiles approvingly at Goliath's humor and tries to bolster their enthusiasm. "In that case, you can be proud of your strength! You've certainly proven it."
"More than a rematch, though," the foreign traveler suggests "I think my traveling companions and I might be interested in a hunt... Would you be happy if we helped you against Oyaminartok the Winter Walker?"
The eladrin huntress then turns to her fellow adventurers: "What do you say, my faithful traveling companions? It sounds like an interesting hunt to me... If we succeed, we could make travel safer by eliminating a savage threat. Not to mention that such a powerful monster must have collected the belongings of who knows how many travelers or hunters."
Neldak shrugs, but is definitely interested in this creature that they described. "I've never seen anything like that in my time out here. Sounds interesting."
"The Dale is massive. If we are completly honest, the chance of finding her is so small. But if we go our separate ways then we both have more chance of an encounter with her. And if you do find her and survive, then that is most worthy of a celebration with our clan."
Etriel Darastrix then changes perspective: "Oh, in that case, fine; let's each go our separate ways. I had envisioned a short hunt — but if it risks turning into a long quest, then perhaps it's best for my traveling companions and I not to abandon the ship that awaits us. However, if we ever encounter Oyaminartok the Winter Walker, we'll remember to look for you to celebrate!"
The foreign traveler bids farewell to the Goliaths and is now ready to resume the journey toward her original destination...
You continue on. The rest of your journey is uneventful and eventually you reach the coast. Not that it means you are at water. The Sea of Moving Ice stretches out before you, a featureless, frozen desert. Ahead, the smooth white icy surface is interrupted by a towering ship, its exterior covered in frost. It's a couple of hundred feet out, trapped in the thick ice that has spread in the cold temperatures.
"This journey has also reached its destination" Etriel Darastrix declares, seemingly unfazed by the biting cold.
"I think we should approach and make a complete circuit of the ship to determine the possible access points" the foreign traveler suggests, starting to take the first steps toward the vessel. And, if nothing emerges from the ship to disturb the operation, she effectively does as she has proposed.
Danon nods and listens for any sounds, over the usual howl of the wind and the occasional crack of ice, he listens for any sounds of voices, moans or anything else that doesn’t below. Afterwards, he says “Agree, let’s take a trip around the exterior, then pick our way to go onboard.” He uses his skills to generate heat and maintain warmth despite the climate and surroundings.

As you get within 15ft, you hear loud thumping and creaking coming from inside the hold, followed by the guttural snarls of some creature. The ship is not as abandoned as it appeared! You are still able to complete your lap of the boat, without making too much noise. The exterior of the boat looks to intact. The only way to get on/in is to climb the side (there is an intact enough rope ladder dangling down one side) and reach the main deck. I will need a stealth check from everyone who climbs.
"It looks like we won't be bored exploring this ship" Etriel Darastrix murmurs to her companions.
"Look! There's an intact enough rope ladder dangling down one side!" the foreign traveler indicates to the others (still in a low voice), "Let's try to climb up and reach the main deck. Let's be stealthy. I'll go ahead."
And so, the eladrin huntress, after briefly recommending herself to Sehanine Moonbow, goes up first. At least, if she manages to climb up undetected, she'll be able to protect the others, should anyone make too much noise and alert the 'crew'...
Danon begins to climb the rope, his senses alerted. He works hard tightening his muscles to keep his movement silent, gripping the rope carefully and avoiding swinging, avoiding banging against the side.

Really lame roll! Let's hope the crew doesn't have too good hearing.
