"I only look like this because we wanted to scare those hobgoblins away." Ozymandias says, "I am an elf too."
Persuasion: 25 (Nat 20, rolled in game log.)
Ozymandias lays a hand on the elf, and some of the illusion melts away, revealing him underneath. Then, it shimmers, and Ozymandias appears to be Maglubiyet again. The elf stares up at you for a long silence, and finally gets up. "I-I believe you. Why are you here? And can you help us?"
“We are crossing the mountain path. Do these creatures threaten your village frequently?”
"We have been threatened before by different groups, but we have been able to fight off any raiders. This time, however, this group destroyed our defenses at night. Now, before you speak, I must plead you to help us. I am the only one who survived their attack-the others have been captured, and I fear they will be sacrificed soon."
“That is terrible! Their numbers were far superior to our own, I fear we would fail a head-on assault. Do you have any suggestions on how to free your people either through stealth or subterfuge?”

"I have noticed a time to strike. I've spent most a month here, and have noticed a lapse, during their changing of the guards. It's a one-minute period where a certain spot is left unguarded. I can take you there this midnight."
Although the elf can describe it well, he can't draw. His basic map shows you a base somewhere up the mountain, and a small circle, just to the left in front of the base, shows where you should enter.
Somewhere in the Spine, near midnight...deep into the forest...
Your group trudges quietly through the forest, which seems so friendly and foreboding at the same time, even at this time of night. Faint lights shoot through the trees, illuminating your path, but then they disappear into the night. The large pine trees above you provide some shelter from the biting wind, yet there are breaks in those trees too. Even animals come out like it is day-to be torn apart by their predators as you watch in horror. The elf leads you as a child would, excited to show you what he's found but struggling to remember how he found it. Constantly, you turn left, only to turn right a minute later, or the other way around. For a while, you feel as if you're going in circles. The elf stays a few paces ahead of you, quietly slipping through the dense brush of the forest. Eventually, he slows and turns back to you, holding out a hand so as to tell you to stop. Guiding you slowly into a dense copse of trees, he points. A few feet down the hill, you see a hobgoblin standing in armor, brandishing his sword and twirling in the air as if he was being attacked by a thousand invisible men--or if he expected some to attack at any second.
"I must leave you," the elf whispers, "For I fear I will not be of use."
"Should we strike now? Or do you think it is a trap?" Ozymandias motions for the others to follow. "I'm willing to be the bait again, but otherwise let's strike now!"
"Hello friends," Karrius starts, "I'm sure you're all in shock of finally meeting the one and only Prince of the World."
"Don't worry, I will vanquish these foes to save you! Raaaah!" He says as he runs at the hobgoblin.
OOC: Should I roll for attack yet or no? Initiative?
As you all are standing there, you hear a rustling in the brush, not loud enough to make the guard turn around. A strange man pops out, talking about "The Prince of the World". It seems that more than one person has plans here tonight...
But before you can say anything, he is off down the hill, charging at the hobgoblin. You watch in horror--he's blown your cover.
Titanus runs through the woods, bumping into Thorne. “Sorry about that idiot,” he says before charging down the hill himself, carrying his Great-Greataxe. “Rahhhhh”

"What the f--?" the elf screams, interrupted by another strange person who charges through the woods.

(OOC sorry for entering suddenly, I don't know when moe10wrecker was supposed to enter the campaign but we were supposed to be introduced together so I just rolled with it).

The man who calls himself "Titanus" charges past "Karrius", jumping off of the hill a little and bringing his axe down on the hobgoblin, who is ended with a scream (OOC: KO). Shouts echo around the mountain, as you hear others suddenly reacting and mobilizing in response. The dark night quickly becomes brighter as torches are lit and reinforcements charge down the hill.
