The lasting effects are certainly frustrating. My eyes aren't that good to begin with. And the private lessons are held in dimly lit rooms, so I can no longer see the sheet music. It's creating challenges with everything.
I could see an eye doctor. I could use a new prescritption anyway. Thechnically, I've needed eye surgery for decades. But without vision insurance, just a visit will cost almost $300, which is about what I make in 3 weeks. Forget the surgery.
My vision is still blurry. But I'll see what I can do.
I'm back. Work is draining on me a little harder each week. It's taking longer to recover.
I'm not sure how long I can keep it up, which sucks. Not because of the money, but because of the students. I don't want to abandon them, but I'll reach my limit eventually. My boss is asking if I can do 3 days a week. I can't. By Thursday night, I'm a wreck. I usually fall asleep before dinner and can barely move on Fridays. I was having dizziness and fainting spells yesterday. Today, it's just high pain levels, but I need to get the laundry done, so I'm powering through it.
The good news is, I've been approved for disability benefits! I should know within 60 days how much I'm going to get paid. It probably won't be much, but the real benefit behind SSI will be the gateway it traditionally opens to Medicare. Medicare is... on the global scale, not good. But it's the best socialized health care we have. I'll be able to get nerve treatments, HRT, vision, dental, psychiatric care, and more frequent doctor care. It's fairly similar to privatized health insurance, without the massive deductible and copays. So that's a huge boon. But I've been federally recognized as medically unfit for work. That's a big deal! Because now my food benefits cannot be taken away from me too. Which is great, because my dietery restrictions aren't cheap. I have to eat pretty clean because my digestive system doesn't work very well. A handful of cheetos will debilitate me for a couple of days. Forget eating out. That's just not an option, and hasn't been for years, even if I could afford it.
Has it been more than 24 hours since making friends with the Carrion Crawler? The spell lasts 24 hours so as long as it’s still within that time the Merkas can at least send them in the right direction.
Barely. The Carrion Crawler was taken control of yesterday. You've made good time to the dragon's den, and I've been a bit lazy with the IC clock lately. So let's say there's an hour or two left on the spell.
So, we're starting to get into the really nice treasure rewards. These will be rare, of course... technically, Very Rare or Legendary. 🤭
The bonus reward is due to a Loyaltly Score increase with Buckeran. Loyalty Scores are technically supposed to be kept "behind the screen" but you can view them in Campain Notes. At this point, his Loyalty Score is 15, which is more or less a dear friend. He will take risks for your and advocate on your behalf. Although a Loyalty Score rarely goes above 20, it can. It doesn't improve his loyalty to you, but it protects against Loyalty Penalties. In my mind, a Loyalty Score above 20 is similar to a partner... whether that's a platonic partner or lover. They will support and aid you through any kind of hell. But abusing that relationship can still produce Penalties, and can degrade the score over time. When a Loyalty Score gets below 5, an NPC will show signs of distrust, and will be less enthusiastic about spending time, emotional energy, or support on you or your cause. If the Loyalty Score reaches 1, the NPC will become Disloyal, and will directly or indirectly oppose your actions, or abandon you entirely.
Loyalty Scores are raised or dropped by an increment of 1d4. However, certain extreme acts of betrayal can cause multiple rolls and drop the score aggressively. Just as inspiring acts of loyalty can cause multiple rolls to raise the score. As in real life, apology and forgiveness can help reduce the impact of the damage, but the worse the betrayal, the harder the counter-response can be. Buckeran is a powerful ally to have in Santekh, and he is currently as Loyal to you as he is to the cause of the Resistance. He may even be able to extend his influence to resolve Sera's situation favorably in Solamnia. If, however, his Loyalty Score should drop to 1, it could have serious political and financial ramifications for you and your guild. Physically, he's no threat to you, but he can motivate the council to oust you and ban your guild from operating within Santekh's walls, which would leave you further exposed to threats from assassins and other adventureres for hire.
Sorry been so quiet. Currently traveling to Holland, Michigan for some school competitions (30+ hours of driving one way). Will try and post full response soon
Just to clarify we agreed that Electrum pieces would count as the gold pieces and the gold is steel correct?
Merkas will collect 1000 coins for his Bag of holding but leave the rest of the coin for the assistance of Santekh. Items have yet to be decided.
Oh and I finally got Barkly added to my sheet as a sidekick. Ended up creating a homebrew creature entirely and giving her the sidekick tag like you said Innexorable.
I hope you eyes get well again. Take your time.
Definitely heal up. Text on a website is useless without vision.

I am glad you got medicare. It sounds like a good thing for you. I hope it help you takes away some pain and worries.
As for the game so is this your escape, inspirasion and energy boost we greatly enjoy.
If you feel it is taxing it is ok to close the story. We support any decision.
I think Merkas have some actions too. Like it was reactions and then he went down. But Sera wakes him. It is Merkas turn.
Thanks. I forgot the turn reset at this point

No... I like the game. I just can't check in daily like I used to. But I'm still going to try to keep my updates frequent.

I am tempted to use cavaluer shield to block that chromatic orb attack.
But since it is a ranged attack and the priestess is in close combat with Sera. Her attack is with disadvantage?
Priestess Green is 15' away from Sera. She doesn't gain Adv from Pact Tactics, but she's not Dis either. I just happened to roll a crit. 🤷♀️

Dragonshield Blue is also alive, though barely. It looks like an unarmed strike would take him down.
