You gather the treasure, stowing it away. You still have the the issue of the river. You can attempt to ford the river, either at the gap in the bridge, or the full width of the river. You could also try finding another crossing, or your own strategies.

Brekka turns to face the river, his urge to leap fearlessly into the waters rising to the surface once more. He looks across to the other side and then back to the cart.
OOC: Since the river was described as churning, I'm guessing it looks like it would be very difficult to get the cart through without some sort of bridge or other way to keep it out of the water?
"I can get to the other side, but without a plan that won't be much help getting the cart across," Kaelen says, looking around the opposite shore for anything that could be used to create a makeshift bridge.

Mathias looks up and down the river and seeing few alternatives, summons a fey-touched hawk and sends it out to scout for a spot along the river that may be fordable.

Arista eyes the gap, then the surrounding trees. “We can span that fifteen-foot breach with a timber deck,” she says, already gauging trunk diameters. “Kaelen, Brekka—fell two straight young pines apiece and strip the branches. Torban, Asariel, start cutting saplings for cross-bracing and gather vines or rope. I’ll notch and fit the main beams; carpentry was half my living in the mountains.” She gives the cart an assessing look. “Once the runners are laid and pegged, we’ll plank a surface sturdy enough for the mules. We lose some daylight, but we keep the wagon dry and the supplies intact. And if we're lucky no one touches it and it stays here until we return.”

Sorry, I'm on vacation and while I will try to check-in at least daily, I cannot promise that I will always be able to do so. From September 1, I should be back to normal.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Kaelen is able to spot large enough pieces of fallen timber to do what you ask without needing to fell the trees yourselves.
Mathias, flying overhead you are able to spot a likely ford a few miles upstream. It would take sometime to get up there, and you see some ramshackle wooden structures nearby, spotting a few goblins moving between them.
As Mathias is flying back, I'll assume you go ahead with the carpentry. Torban also has proficiency so you will have help.
Make an Intelligence Check, plus your tools proficency, with advantage, as it's the engineering with irregular materials that's the challenge here. Its not super difficult, say DC 13 for a temporary bridge that will last for at least 3 crossings. DC 18 and it's solid enough for a few seasons at least.

Asariel will use his last bardic inspiration before resting as he provides a jolly carpentry tune (or what he imagines one would be like) so we could reach 18 with that
When his familiar returns and Mathias returns his senses to his body rather than that of his hawk, the druid comments, "If worse comes to worse, there is are a few fordable areas a few miles upstream - obviously something more of an option for our return if something should happen to the bridge you are all constructing. Perhaps more troubling would be what seems to be a small goblin settlement in that same direction."
The temporary bridge is way sturdier than you aimed for. With good quality wood being found, and a good sense of engineering, the bridge will probably last until a significant event like major flooding takes it out.

Brekka arches his broad back in a satisfying stretch after a long day of walking, battling and some manual labour. His yellow, draconic eyes start to search the land to the side of the path.
"We should make camp soon. Walking through the night we're like to injure the mule or damage the cart," he says.
I'm going to post a suggestion of a watch rotation, if you have objections or suggestions, please have them but I don't want to spend two real days debating watch rotation.

"Great idea," Brekka nods eagerly and gets to work however he can be of use, even if it's just in the delicate art of lifting and moving heavy things.
Kaelen nods, moving to help Brekka collect the wood.

"A fine bridge this will make," he adds, standing back to look at Arista's efforts.
