Thank you to everyone who created a character! All of your submissions were fantastic. Unfortunately, I can only select six of you for this game. I'm closing this thread tonight and will DM the players selected by Friday night.
Good gaming everyone and maybe we'll see you in the next one.
It is apparently so hard to program Aberrant Mind and Clockwork Soul spell-swapping into dndbeyond they had to remake the game without it rather than implement it.
9/1/2025 Update: I am recruiting some fresh blood for this campaign. If you are interested in joining and have already created a character in this space, let me know. New character submissions are welcome as well. I'm looking for two more players to round out out my existing party of adventurers. I will give preference to players who are not currently recruited into a PBP already. You will start at level 4. Let me know if you have any questions.
Appearance: Short, dark brown hair, tan skin, brown eyes, 6'1".
Alignment: Neutral Good
Personality Traits (2): Fenric is confident in his knowledge of the woods and abilities to track and survive in nature. He judges people by their actions, not their words.
Ideal: Sincerity. Fenric is true to who he is, and does not try to pretend to be what he is not.
Bond: Fenric is bound to the forest he was raised in, and would die protecting it.
Flaw: Fenric is overly critical of himself, and afraid of falling short of the expectations he puts on himself.
Backstory: Fenric was born and raised in a druid grove. As such, it was expected that one day the powers of nature would be imbued within him, and he would become a druid too. But that day never came. For years, he lived in the grove, developing his relationship with nature and listening to all it had to offer. Eventually, he came of the age at which any non-druid was to be removed from the grove. However, the leader at the time saw the work he put in and how knowledgeable he was about nature, and decided to let him stay. He adopted the role of protector of the grove, fending off goblins and the like. A few years later, the leader of the grove died, and the new druid in charge was critical of Fenric's extended residency at the grove. He was forced to leave, and he made his way to the town of Phandalin in search of a new home.
The adventuring party currently has a warrior, cleric, ranger, and rogue. However, I don't mind having duplicates in the party. Thanks for asking. If you would like to check out the current thread, you can find it here.

Still be happy to join with char I put forth when this first opened here but I am currently in a PBP already and you'll likely find people who aren't so *shrug*

In that case, I'll reprise my original gnome entry from here. Though as I too am currently in another PbP, I fully embrace the "runner up" role~

Personality Traits (2): Sesquipedalian. Why use simple words, when unnecessarily complicated ones will do? Playful. Years as a socialite among Neverwinter's elite have made her teasing, jocular and an adept conversationalist.
Ideal: Noblesse oblige. Those fortunate to be born into privilege have the responsibility to protect and serve those who are not.
Bond: Dying vow. On her deathbed, my mother entrusted me with a task to restore our House to great standing. To fail in my vow is to fail her memory.
Flaw: Honourable to a fault. My need to restore my family's honour can make me blind to danger.
Backstory:
Alisande Immerwood is the youngest daughter of an illustrious noble House from Neverwinter. Unlike many noble Houses ruined by the eruption of Mount Hotenow, the Immerwood family fell into disgrace several centuries earlier when Baeros Immerwood (d. 1272) was discovered to be running a major slave trading network. The Immerwoods have steadily fallen into decline since then - though titles and an estate still exists in Neverwinter, it stands on the brink of penury.
Like most Immerwoods since then, Alisande lived a life of pointless indulgence and free-wheeling caprice, without any thought of responsibility and the dwindling fortunes of the noble House. It was only when Alisande's mother, Cara Immerwood, came back into Alisande's life that she had a change of heart. Cara Immerwood was a mage belonging to the Many-Starred Cloak, a guild of arcanists who stood in the defence of Neverwinter and supported its rulers. Cara had been long presumed dead, but in truth, had been working undercover to undermine a cult of necromancers in the Sword Mountains region amassing power there.
Grievously wounded while on her mission, Cara returned to Neverwinter decades later and was aghast by what she saw. Her daughter Alisande was exceedingly bright and erudite, yet had grown up like all the other Immerwoods, a dissolute socialite with no sense of purpose. Cara spent the final months of her life striving to guide her child onto a better path. During this time mother and daughter were reconciled, and Alisande began to understand that redemption was possible. Though the house's finances were a disaster and needed rectifying, before riches came responsibility.
Determined to honour her mother's legacy, Alisande joined the Many-Starred Cloak as a novice. More importantly, as Cara lay upon her deathbed, Alisande swore an oath - she would redeem House Immerwood through heroism and noble deeds, carving out a new destiny for her family. Before passing, Cara revealed one last secret. Somewhere in the Sword Mountains lies Nightfall, a magical blade and ancestral heirloom of House Immerwood. If recovered, it could serve as both a potent weapon and a powerful symbol of the family's rebirth.
Appearance: A tall, red-headed human woman with striking gray eyes and an aristocratic mien. On the road, she tends to wear expensive leather armour and carry a rapier.
