Ooc: despite what my character sheet says, I do not have dark vision (it doesn't fit my character). If someone have a lantern, though...
Red Admiral: "if we are going into the cave, we need a lantern. Despite being a half-dragon, I can't see in the dark. My mother's species is an outdoor type of dragon." I randomly spot a large green beetle on the ground. "Hey, my father would like this little guy."
Paget: "A torch would also work...Anything with light, we don't want to walk into a trap." Fumbling around into his stuff, Paget fiddles with some dice, trying to calm his nerves, when he doesn't have something to fight, the thinking takes over in ways that are uncomfortable.
Shynt'lyn: I pull out my lantern and hand it to Red. "Here, use this. I've spent practically my entire life underground. I can see quite well in there."
Rothkar: “I can aid in providing some light as well.” Rothkar closed his eyes briefly as he grips the holy symbol hanging from his necklace. After a brief moment, his steel round shield starts to glow with bright light with a slight blue hue to it.
Shynt'lyn: "Do me a favor and keep the lights behind me, otherwise, I'll barely be able to see." I take the cover off my eyes as I enter the cave, carefully checking the entrance for traps.
Rethos: Rethos laughs at the mention of needing a light. "I'll be okay, but thank you, and unlike our compatriot here, your light won't bother me... Just be careful, a light in a dark cave is as noticeable as an elephant in a tavern."
You can hear the echoes of the stream from inside the hollow of the cave. The water is cold, slow moving, and about two feet deep. It is easy enough to wade across the flowing stream toward the dry path on the other side.
On the east side of the stream flowing from the cave mouth, a small area in the briar thickets has been hollowed out to form a lookout post or blind. Wooden planks flatten out the briars and provide room for guards to lie hidden and watch the area—including a pair of goblins lurking there right now!
Shynt'lyn sees the guards through the thicket. Based on what the rogue can pick up from their conversation, hey appear more intent on a game of dice then keeping watch. At the moment, the goblins do not see you.
[[OOC: If you decide to attack, initiative can be rolled with advantage. Keep in mind, the way they've positioned their post in the thicket provides them with half cover.]]
Red Admiral: "Actually, can we befriend them? I'd like to see if we could do them a personal favor, and get them to help us. That way we don't have to fight!"
Rethos: "Goblins don't really see reasoning outside their clan, but if you want to give it go, I won't stop you. I'll be here, watching it fail."Rethos says, smirking a bit at the mention of befriending goblins.
Paget: Listening quietly to his fellow comrades on this mission, he shakes his head, motioning with his hand the goblins, then making a throat slash. "They would rather gut us than help." he says, more to the Half Dragon lad. "However... I believe Stealth is the way to go here. At least for now. We were just in a fight and while I can go at any time..." A slow sigh comes out.. "Sometimes, its fruitful to avoid the pointless fight."
OOC: Wasn't sure if I should roll a stealth check or not... So I waited.
Shynt'lyn: looks at Paget "that's a good point. Although, if we don't take care of them now and we get in a fight inside; we might have them coming up behind us."
[[ I think it's up to Red, since they are the one that wants to befriend lol. But Rethos is down to attack or skip. I'm also letting others take the wheel that might not have played the adventure before, not that I remember much past this part. ]]
( OOC: I like trying to sneak by, but I wouldn't be against fighting right away. We could have red try to negotiate but have the rest of us hide and prepare to attack if it doesn't go well?)
Red Admiral: I use stealth check (18) to sneak up behind the left goblin. I then attack with my shortbow (20 to hit) (7 damage). I then backstab (I have advantage, I got 7 and 16) the same goblin with my dagger (4 damage).
Paget: Taking slow, even steps, Paget wanted to sneak by the Goblins and just get on with the mission. It's been a nasty trip so far, and needless bloodshed was beginning to take their toll mentally.. However, he was not used to this tactic and the terrain was thicker than he expected, slipping on a rock, the slender man fell by the fire near the goblins outpost. He looks up to see them snarling at him... "Uh... hey guys... I'm just passing through." (Stealth check was nat 1 plus 4 = 5)

Shynt'lyn: I stop a good distance from the entrance to the cave and turn to the group. "What do you guys think, venture inside?"

Shynt'lyn: I stop and tell the others what I see. "We could sneak by or attack. What do you guys think?"
Rethos: Rethos shakes his head and looks towards the goblin outpost. "If we don't take care of them now, they might be a problem later."
