Doozey is quiet and lost in thought for a time. But at the mention of Sagin, the halfling eventually steps up and says, "I think...Oh, big mama yondalla give me strength--I /think/ Sagin aughta be aight for a bit longer." He sighs. "Seems Eli found her way back to town. And if she's here, might mean her mentor is too. So between the two of'em, hopefully they'll be able to get'im back here. But even so, that still leaves our tiefling friend." On that note, Doozey looks up expectantly to Utar, silently hopeful the tiefling was doing well enough on his own to make the journey...

"Safe, Cracked Crown. I know a route. But we should save as many as possible before escaping. Meet at Cracked Crown at the 12th bell?"
And one from Sagin:
"Sagin safe. All lights in home out. Kobolds, large lizards, and hobgoblins in the streets. They’re dragging people away to be servants. Sagin hiding."
Villonah moves closer to Doozey and asks: "Who are Eli and her mentor?"
Utar spends a moment listening to their resposes, then closes his eyes in prayer. "Torm be praised. Keep them safe."
Coming back to the group, Utar shares his findings, "Moneus and Sagin are both safe. Sagin is keeping his head down at home although kobolds, lizards and hobgoblins are active in the streets there. Moneus is at the Cracked Crown and has a way out of town. He's rounding up other survivors, I suggest we do the same then make our way to the Cracked Crown for 12th bell. Only issue is what route do we take through town, I think we need to try to help Dornal at the docks and should make sure we collect Sagin in whatever route we end up taking."
Aleyd nods at Utar, grabs a map from the tavern wall, and spreads it across the table for a tactical view of the town. "A plan is forming. CRAP goes to the docks to help Dornal and then into the residential section to rescue Sagin. Meanwhile, I'll go into the core of the city in search of allies. Villonah, Aya, and Eurepanee stay in the Laughing Goblin to protect our temporary HQ. We should then return to the Laughing Goblin by no later than, let's say, the 10th bell. This will give us 2 hours to mount a rescue mission into the Stojanow Gate to rescue Lord Regent Ector Brahms. Once the VIP is secured, we make our way to the Cracked Crown where Moneus will be waiting with more rescued townsfolk to lead the entire group out of town through some secret Welcomer pathway. Any questions?"
Villonah raises a hand: "Once CRAP secures a path to Dornal's ship, I can lead the folks we have already rescue to it. This way we need not storm Stojanow Gate with civilians in tow."
Even if there hadn't necessarily been a need to do so, the halfling found himself whispering his answer to Villonah: "Little Elisande is, well my Ward. Beyond that, it's all complicated, and now's not the time to get into the nitty gritty -- BUT suffice it to say, I left her in the care of my old mentor, a half-orcess by the name of Lo'kee. Though why either of them is here now of all times I... I don't know or can't remember."With that, Doozey sighed, and then looked thoughtful up until Utar brought back news. "Sounds like a plan. We'll sort out the details once we at least Dornal and his crew freed up." He then looks to the other party members. "Now, if there's no other surprise concerns to worry about, bought time we got going. Agreed?"
"Maybe she missed you..." Villonah says (projects?) to Doozey before the topic of his ward is surpassed by team planning. Once the last bit of planning is concluded, everyone not staying behind heads to the tavern's backdoor and leaves. Villonah locks the door once CRAP and Aleyd have stepped out.
Just outside, Alyed says: "The docks are a stone's throw away from the Laughing Goblin, but you may need to take the long way to circle back for Sagin.Best of luck to you." With that, Alyed heads in a different direction in her solo mission to gather whatever allies she can find.
As Aleyd said, the docks are quite nearby. They are located mere blocks from the Laughing Goblin and are normally a busy area of the town (everyone knows the way to the docks). You have no trouble making your way to that area of town. Perhaps to your surprise upon arrival, you realize that the harbor is quiet compared to the rest of the chaos in the town. Most of the ships sit silent and seemingly empty, bobbing in the water. That said, a group of sailors are being dragged off their ship—the Vigilant—by members of the Black Fist. Another ship, "Gilded Trophy" emblazoned on its hull, has crates and barrels stacked at its gunwales; you see a few wary eyes and trembling crossbows pointed towards the docks.
The dock is fronted by several flat-topped warehouses that are about 20ft tall. There are several piles of crates spread around. Some sunlight still remain in the sky.
(OOC: As a start, as you describe any reactions to arriving at the docks, please go ahead and roll a perception check each.)
Neya tries to track where the members of the Black Fist are leading the sailors toward. She saw the Cult bringing peple to carts, and is trying to see if they are bringing them to something similar.
Though Doozey would leave the Laughing Goblin with Villionah's words on the back of his mind, they are soon fall to the wayside as the group approach the docks. From there, his first priority is to seek it out the best set and direct the party accordingly, only to provide the group some measure of protection for the inevitable conflict ahead of them. Otherwise, if it was a task he could leave to Biscuit, then instead from the back of the mastiff, he'd search for Dornal among the crossbow wielders or elsewhere on the docks and send him a quick message alerting the dwarf of the group's arrival and preparedness to take on the Black Fist.
Meanwhile, Gravy takes up a perch atop a nearby warehouse and observes for the time being.

@Doozey & @Biscuit: You see plenty of crates between you and the ships, including on the dock itself. They could provide good cover, but moving from one stack to the next may prove risky. Separately, you can't be sure that one of the few pairs of eyes over the Gilded Treasure belong to Dornal, not at this distance, not with them clearly trying to remain behind cover. That said, your message reaches the desired target. Dornal thanks you briefly and says he'll offer crossbow support once the fight breaks out, but won't risk the ship by leaving it. Finally, you notice that the Vigilant is currently tied by two mooring lines, fore and aft, to the docks, while the Gilded Trophy is bound to the docks by a similar two-rope setup and a number of iron chains hooked to its gunwales and rudder. For his part, Biscuit catches an interesting scent in the air. It is only after the mastiff makes his finding known by exhaling hardly through his nostrils that Doozey thinks of paying attention to his olfactory sense. Wine... there is lots of wine here somewhere.
@Neya: As you approach, you count a patrol of armored men shoving the sailors from the Vigilant into a group so they can be tied together on the dock. You can see five of these sailors, but you suspect that this number is too small even for a relatively little trading bilander like the Vigilant. Either the soldiers have already moved the rest of this ship's crew somewhere, or they are still inside the Vigilant. Finally, you note that the armor sets that the soldiers wear are those of Knights of the Black Fist, but they have been splashed with bright green paint.
(OOC: How about Utar and Raist? Would you like to roll a perception check?)
(@MB: You are thinking of Cpt. Hulbard's ship, not Dornal's.)
(@Red: No worries.)
@Raist: You are 60 or 70 feet from the plank leading up to the Vigilant, some 90 or so feet from the plank leading up to the GildedTreasure. The sailors being rounded up are somewhere in between those two planks. Looking around, you also note that the water is 5 feet below the level of the dock and is calm. The flat-topped warehouses that you are currently next to are 20 feet tall and seem climbable.
@Utar: The Gilded Treasure is the bigger of the two seemingly still-occupied ships, and you know Dornal Whitebeard to be a dwarf of considerable means. All of the other ships have their gangplanks raised. It also looks like the Gilded Treasure was getting ready to be loaded when the process was interrupted. There is a large crane used to move cargo next to the ship. It currently has a dozen heavy barrels loaded on its net and suspended over the dock. Its mechanism seem simple enough to operate.
"I'd say color me surprise, but that'a be biggest lie I've ever told." Doozey light jests before his expression turns serious once more. "I've already let Dornal know we're here, and he's prepared to support us from afar once any fighting starts. And while there's plenty of cover about, I wouldn't call it entirely reliable. So-"He turns to look at the others. "What's the plan? We can try'n surprise'm, but so long as those sailors are at risk, could be they might try 'n make'm hostages."Biscuit lets out a low growl and grumble. "Hm? Oh, and, uhh, Biscuit caught a wiff of some wine or some such by the scent. Not sure if that helps, but...maybe it could?"He whispers to the party.

"Taking them by surprise might be the better plan. After the encounter with Krulek, I've become further of a mind to avoid a blow-for-blow fight with the Black Fist."
CRAP takes a few additional moments to agree on their planned approach. In the meantime, the Black Fists finish rounding up the sailors and begin to loop ropes around them.
