STR Save: 19

Perspicacious flails as the water covers her, unable to catch a breath as she disappears beneath the wave.

Fiorello struggles against his chains but is unable to break free. But as the water crashes down upon his companions, Fiorello calls out to the elemental, "Grovel!" as he attempts to command the watery storm to lay down. (WIS  DC:15)

Perspicacious is overtaken and crushed under the weight of the freezing wave, as well!

Tony's first punch swings wide. So wide, in fact, that he spins and topples into the body of the elemental! Thrashing in the water, his brass-knuckled fist makes direct contact squarely in the monster's "chest". It clutches its chest with its churning limbs, apparently resisting the effects of the hole puncher. (CON save: 16)

But then...

Fiorello's eyes alight as his bookish demeanor is shed. Wings still firmly chained to the floor, he raises his head and bears his will upon the monster. (WIS save: 3) It instantly drops to the surface of the pool, all defenses dropped. 

There is a tremendous BLOOP, and Tony's lounge portal opens inside of the elemental's chest! (Disad CON save: 11!) A sound like an enormous drain fills the solarium as the water is slurped inside. The lounge's beautiful furnishings, its liquor cabinet, the curtained window hanging impossibly in mid-air (as there are no walls in this dark empty space; just the carpeted lounge) all are swept away as the mass of the creature is sucked inside. 

Submerged as they are, Amaruve, Perspicacious, and Tony are sucked in, as well! And then Burgee makes his move. Staff stolen by the bear, he lifts his hands and a pair of watery talons rise from the water's surface. They collect Jean and Fiorello (conveniently breaking the aarakocra's chains in the process) and deposit them into the vortex!

Tony takes a moment to consider what just happened.

Tony checks himself. You are as wet and ill-used as a kitchen sponge, but generally unharmed.

Pretty dark in here, though

Amaruve hands Tony the staff. 

Tony takes the staff, still a little bewildered, “What am I supposed to do with this? Where’d you even get it? I was kinda out of it for a while.”

It's just a long wooden pole, maybe seven feet in length. The icy blue markings that surrounded it a few moments ago have faded, but it's still cool to the touch.

Interestingly, there doesn't seem to be a light source in this place. Despite that, you can all see one another as though you're standing in bright light. You can only see the water at your feet thanks to the brightness of your reflections. Speaking of which, the water is less than an inch thick, but whatever surface it rests upon seems... resistant to inspection. Near as you can tell, it appears to be smooth black stone.

As he stands there stunned with eyes blinking Fiorello declares, "Well, no chains is good."

Tony nods, “Got that right. Only problem now is... whatever this is.” Tony absentmindedly taps the staff’s edge on the water.

"So, what just happened?"

“Well... I punched the water elemental. Bird boy knocked it down and the two combined made a whirlpool. We may be stuck in my lounge...”

Amaruve groans.

Your voices echo across the surface of the water. It's just black water and black emptiness all around you. Tony, the lounge should have a clear exit point. Other than a couple of waterlogged cigars and an overturned red leather armchair, though, you see no sign of the actual lounge.

Tony puts the boat pole on his shoulders, “Well, that’s an issue... So, team, we’re trapped here. At least for a moment... Any ideas?”

"We have to find a way out and get to Sagacious." says Perspicacious. Still wet, but thankful not to be drowning, she begins looking for any hint of an exit or way out. Investigation: 8

"Just tell me we weren't swallowed by a creature. I've had enough today, without having to come out of the other end."

"Tony, do you mind if I see that staff? I think the Archmage mentioned it was important," asks Perspicacious. Upon taking hold of it she uses some of the little magic knowledge she has to investigate it. 

Arcana Check: 13

Not getting a great read of it, she silently curses deciding not to take those free arcane objects courses at the Tower. 

"I don't suppose any of you know magical items well? I know this is important, I just don't know why, or how it works."

Tony tosses the staff to Perspicacious, “Have at it, I was just gonna whack people with it.”
