Lothia let out a hiss of pain, and had the dart still been stuck in her, ripped it out immediately with curse in jotun! It took even more willpower not to go trying to rip the floorboard out altogether in her ire. But by some miracle, she found the will to take a breath, before finishing what she had started and plucking out the sack for a look inside.
"Whooo~ Somebody was skimming off the top I see~" Lothia said in a singsong voice as she made her way out carrying the sack and readily telling the others the good news. "None if its cursed as far as can tell too! So, looks like we'll really just have to make our way to the lower decks. You gonna go first again, Dev?"
While the others look for more material concerns, Borabash will clamber up onto any sturdy looking part of the Captain’s desk, to see what papers and travel documents still remain, or records of any navigational data, or manifest.
"Listen here, honeybunch... oi don't take kindly t' having moi authority undermined in front o' the crew!"Paddy snaps, but with an amused glint in his eye as Lothia departs the cabin to investigate elsewhere. The golden dragonborn yells after the goliath, fumes rising from his maw. "That's right... get ye gone, and git t' swabbing the poop deck!"
The old butcher feigns an irritated look, shakes his head and begins turning over the captain's cabin for anything of interest. He keeps a particular eye out for a captain's hat with which to establish his rudely contested authority.
Lothia had unabashedly returned Paddy's parting commentary with a rude gesture, but smirked in such a way to show no real offense was taken by the command. If anything, upon her return to the deck, she appeared more mildly irritated over a dart wound in her arm.
"Right behind ya, big guy." Lothia later joked with a pained smile, before falling in line to follow Dev down to the next level while gently applying a bit of homemade salve to her dart wound. If the lighting on the next level appeared dim, she whisper "Hold on" to the others, and take next little while getting a torch set up if no one stepped forward with a more magical solution.

Pev, you look through the desk and find a pouch containing 50 gp, a set of cartographer’s tools, and a dagger. Curiously, you can't seem to find the captain's log or journal, and surely a ship like this must have had one... right?
Paddy, your eye is immediately drawn to a beautiful compass set directly into the desktop. It appears quite valuable and looks like it could be easily pried free with a knife or a tool. Strangely, the rest of the cabin looks remarkably stripped and empty. It occurs to you that the captain likely kept most of his personal belongings, including his clothes, in a footlocker or chest. Looking down, you notice the hole in the floorboards looks large enough that you start to suspect said chest must have broken through and fallen to the deck below...
Dev and Lothia, the descent to the lower deck is chilly, wet, and unsettling. Seawater obscures the floor and sloshes against the hull, ranging from about six inches deep on the starboard side of the ship to eighteen deep on the port side. Decaying crates and barrels are scattered around, some floating freely and others stacked into corners. There is a large hole in the northwest part of the area, matched perfectly by the hole in the floor above, through which you can just make out Paddy peering down.
Pev will pick up the dagger and the cartographer’s tools. He will call Paddy’s attention to the pouch of gold, having noticed the Dragonborn’s non-aversion to monetary matters.
“Is that compass working? Seems strange to find that, and these, and no maps or documents, to my mind.”
"If it isn't the darling captain. 'Fraid we haven't found any more undead yet, but could use some help down here when yaw'll are done playing around up there." Lothia said at a stage whisper volume up at Paddy while they had the dragonborn's attention. If Paddy hadn't in turn spoke up about the possibilities of something having fallen through from the top, the goliath next turned to Pev and ask while gesture to the holes. "You thinking what I'm thinking?"

"Gah!" Paddy shouts, startled by Lothia and Dev appearing on the other side of the aperture. A hand grasps one of the cleavers he has already wrested from the stilled zombies, before he breathes a sigh of relief as recognition dawns on his face. "Heh heh heh... well, at least ye are learning yer place, snookums. There's probably the old Cap'n's chest down there somewhere, so keep yer eyes sharp."
He cranes his neck around when Pev points out the gold, and the greed glints in his eyes. "Ah now, would ye look at that? Lovely stuff. Noice, noice!" He ambles over to pocket the pouch, after bouncing its heft in his chunky palm. "Oi caught soight o' the compass in the Compass Rose carved into the table over there. See if ye can't hack the thing loose, eh?"
The dragonborn leaves the cartographer to deal with the compass and then limps his way downstairs to join Dev and Lothia exploring the deck below.
"The water be lovely!" Dev says to Paddy as he appears. He looks up through the hole where Paddy had been moments before, then slowly gets closer to the matching hole in the floor of the deck he's on. "Either one heck of a big fella fell through here, or the Cap'n's chest had a pirates treasure hoard in it. Chest's don't just fall through the floor." He grins at Paddy, gauging his reaction to the word "treasure", then adds, "floors." He wrinkles his nose at the water filling the lower level of the ship. "Someone's gonna have to get wet, if we want to see what's down there," he says, not sounding enthusiastic about the prospect at all. "Any of ya got some rope?"

Dev stifles a snorted laugh, then gently prods the still intact zombie with his foot.
“”Ugly buggers, ain’t they?” He says. He taps his blade fondly. “The old girl is getting hungry. Downstairs it is!”
He saunters out to the main deck then makes his way down the steps onto the lower deck. Once down, he pauses, letting his eyes adjust to the light.
