Hey, Rashek, it's a bit counter-intuitive, I know, but you're the only one who can see backstory put in your character's profile. That's why most people put their backstory in the thread when they make their characters, along with the character sheet, because it's impossible to see it inside the sheet if you don't own the character.
I didn't realize this either so I'll post my characters backstory here as well.
Myra grew up in an orphanage. She never knew her parents, just the caretakers who never really 'cared'. Maybe they forgot about that part of the job description. When she was 15 she discovered her powers. A black mark appeared on her hand, and wind, rain, and lightning bent to her will. Many feared her for this, and she was even kicked out of the orphanage, but a captain offered her a place on her ship, The Blackheart. Myra gladly accepted her offer and ended up becoming the navigator on the ship, using her magic to help speed the ship along the waves. Six months ago the Blackheart and another ship, the Silverwind, both attacked a large merchant ship. Their was an uneasy truce between the two ships, until the merchant ship was crippled. Then, before they could react, the Silverwind's captain turned on the Blackheart, and sunk it, leaving Myra and the crew for dead.
Should we figure out how all our characters know each other since this will be a reunion for them all?
We seem to share an affinity for storm based magic, and the sea, Rill could pull Myra from the water after seeing you in distress from the cliffs. We could then travel to meet the group.

I can't see this character sheet, Karino, you might've put it in private, in which case, you can go to the bottom of the home page in your character sheet, and change it to Public.

Water doesn't really describe or has anything to do with my character...
I guess Elery could live in a portuary city, but again, it has nothing to do with her, but with your character, I know we won't take too much to get a conection, same class, same race, as soon as they find each other, they'll have something to talk about.
I think I might have an idea, I'll let that up there, so you know where my mind was before I came up with this...
Elery traveled a lot in just a few months, trying to understand the origin of her power, and I'm thinking, why not some of those travels happened by boat? Maybe in this circunstance she might've met some of those characters somehow. I think I'm needing some more details, and a real conection, but just threw my idea out there to see how you people could take this forward.
I changed the time frame a bit for Myra's background (she got her powers at 12 years old, and made the shipwreck 3 years ago). I think this will fit better for her knowing everyone for a long time, instead of knowing Rill for only six months.
Well, my character was supposed to be 18, and I'd like to keep that, being the young one of the group.
So if we're going for a long time, she would need to meet them while a teenager, under the care of her parents, and I can easily fit a reason to it, such as:
Her family was nobility, so they had no problem travelling around before, let's say she traveled with them, and wherever she was, she spotted a halfling girl, or two, stealing from someone from her family, so she snuck out to catch the rogue(s), and this leads to them meeting the rest of the group. I'm not sure how tough, would be happy to hear some other ideas...
depending on how long ago the group originally met, lazarus could have still been running his store, so maybe some of the party shopped at his store while he still owned it.

PeachyArtist and I have talked about it, and think that our characters were probably both stowaways on a ship the party was on, and that this is how they came to be with the group.
The whole party in the same boat when they meet the first time?
That looks kinda farfetched, as again, in the first encounter, Elery would have to be a teenager. But I think that could work, maybe that's where my plot hook about family travel, with an item stolen comes in, inside the ship.
Maybe most of the party met somewhere else before and Elery, Thadrith, and Roz meet them later if you don't want them all meeting at the same time.
Also, I feel like I should mention that NBDM and I decided to go with a "Prince and the Pauper" route rather than having twins, since Roz is an urchin and Thadrith a noble (I'll post more about Thadrith's backstory soon, I swear).
Sorry, I don't want to look like I'm complaining about your idea, specially since you have two people backing your ideas up, and I'm defending my own alone.
I was just going after the initial suggested idea that it was a long time before we met each other again, and seeing as I decided to be playing a young adult human, that long time would have to hit her teenage years either way, it's just a matter of where and how she finds them as a teenager. I bolded in my last post the part that actually matters, and that's actually helpful to bond development.
Her family was nobility, so they had no problem travelling around before, let's say she traveled with them, and wherever she was, she spotted a halfling girl, or two, stealing from someone from her family, so she snuck out to catch the rogue(s), and this leads to them meeting the rest of the group. I'm not sure how though, would be happy to hear some other ideas...
And actually, as I quoted those two, I had a fun interesting jdea that could work well.
Elery was travelling with her family, and she spots a halfling girl (Roz), stealing some of her parent's possessions, while on board, she tried to follow the small rogue, but it was a failure, so she searched the deck, until she found another, very, very similar halfling girl (Thadrith), you can imagine where it'd go from there, she accuses the wrong person, she gets scolded by her parents...
...And I think anymore than that and I might be invading territory of the stuff I don't know, since I don't have Thadrith's backstory yet. But if you have any idea of a way we could turn this into a friendly interaction, one that could take us to meet together with the rest of the party, I'd really be happy hear it.
Thadrith Caw was never one to follow the rules, though she's always quick to use them to her advantage. Being a noble, she noticed early on the advantage she had over everyone else. Nobody wants to upset a noble, meaning she can technically get whatever she wants. With her smooth talking and quick thinking, she can get anyone to play in her hands, even other nobles. She's not exactly the daughter her parents had wanted, but she's the last person to care. Thadrith is here to live out her life, whether that means learning Draconic because "It's cool!" or stealing a valued jewel just to prove that she can.
Thadrith had a younger sister, Ilara, who was the exact opposite: always doing what she's told and never breaking the rules. It's because of this that Thadrith is shocked when Ilara was taken in for murder. Ilara refused to give any info to anyone, even Thadrith, and was soon sentenced to death. On her last visit, Thadrith begged Ilara to come with her. Thadrith could have easily gotten her out. All she had to do was say a few words and everything would be fine. Ilara shook her head and simply said "Let me die. It's the law."
Thadrith respected her sister's wishes...and regretted it ever since.
This is a work in progress since I still have to add when Roz comes in. I think what NBDM and I were planning was that sometime after her sister's death, Thadrith runs into Roz and they switch lives: Roz takes Thadrith's place and enjoys nobility and Thadrith turns to the streets to live how she pleases. Then eventually, Roz gets caught and is cast out and Thadrith decides that she'd rather be with Roz than her stuck up family and the two of them go off together.
Now, how we can tie that in with Elery, I'm not sure. I do really like the idea of her mixing Roz and Thadrith up. And I can actually imagine Thadrith yelling at Elery, saying something like, "How dare you to accuse me of theft! I am a noble! I'm more of a noble than you!" just to give Elery a scare while knowing full well that it was Roz who had stolen from them. Then she bursts into laughter saying something like, "It's just a joke! But I really don't have your gem/artifact/whatever." Not sure how to make the interaction friendly, since I don't think Roz or Thadrith would give the item back. Maybe they talk some and Roz and Thadrith really like Elery for some reason and they decide, "Yeah, she's cool. She's can have her thing back."
Not sure. And then we have to think about how we get from there to meeting the rest of the group. Maybe NBDM has some thoughts on how this exchange can happen.
I changed the time frame a bit for Myra's background (she got her powers at 12 years old, and made the shipwreck 3 years ago). I think this will fit better for her knowing everyone for a long time, instead of knowing Rill for only six months.
So after the shipwreck 3 years ago Rill spots you from the cliffs where he built his small shrine. After Rill helps Myra from the water we could travel to the nearest port together.
This port could be the port that Thadrith, Elery and Roz are sailing towards, this could place 5 of us at least in the same place at the same time. Lazarus could own his store in this port as well.
