"I am afraid I have not seen its like before. Have you? Is it to do with scrying or some such? Could this be a tool of the creatures' master?"
She gets right up in the "face" of the eye, and says to it, "Your evil is defeated today, creature. Run where you will, ensorcel your minions, pull your strings, eventually you'll find justice at the end of one when you reel it in." Then she pokes the eye with her dagger.
Tangle's aim is off and instead of stabbing the eye the dagger cuts through the cheek of the corpse leaving a gaping hole.
"What are doing?! Are you a mad woman, defiling the dead like that? Keep your hands off until the priests get here." The guard captain who had been conversing with the other guard calls out he stops over angrily toward Tangle. The eye begins to gyrate wildly within the corpse's throat, glaring at Tangle as more of the grey liquid begins spilling out.
To the guard, "This body is just a shell... the eye.. ah..." She stands up, makes a rude Fey gesture at the eye, dusts herself off, but does not let the guard near. "I'll not leave it over to any but the short little priestess. Get her."

"I've already sent someone to retrieve her. I'll ask that you step away from it now." He motions for Tangle to move away. He then points to the two other guards.
"You two start securing the area. Check for survivors. You all," He points to the rest of the group.
"You're not civilians, I've never seen you before. Who are you all? Do you know anything about what's happening?"
"You'll not touch the body." She's all business, red hair unbound, wild, and there's fire in her eyes. "There's evil magic at work in this one, and you're not the ones to handle it." Her stance, and a hand on her sheathed sword's hilt, dares him to dispute it. "Fen," she looks for the gnome. "Cover the eye with something, a cloak or the like."

"Don't speak to me of evil magic. I have lived it. I was there during the Burning, saw it with my own two eyes. You raise that sword to me and it will be your end. I will not ask again, child. Step away from the body, let us do what we must. Julia!" The captain calls over to one of the guards. The guard in question, a young woman, steps forward.
"The eye, what is it? What is it doing? Can you figure it out?" Julia, who Perry and Wolf pup both recognize as the guard who met them on the docks, answers.
"Maybe sir, depending on the magic I might not be able to make out exactly what it does, but I can do my best." The captain nods keeping himself positioned between Tangle and Julia as Julia moves toward the body to take a closer look.
Tangle will step aside, suddenly aware that she is the stranger here, and this is not her world. Her eyes turn troubled, but it doesn't last. There's not much room in there for doubt.

Fenchurch is looking very intently and taking notes. Any chance to improve his knowledge of magic is one he must take. However, to the degree possible, he is positioning himself behind the guard, lest something explode. However, his cloak is ready if, as Tangle suggests, they need to cover the thing.
"Coulda jus' asked it, but someun' had ta shoot it." Perry mutters to himself as he looks around looking for signs of where other bombs may have gone off.

Julia kneels down, her face grim as she examines the eye that stares back at her. She waves her hands over the organ, a faint purple light trailing behijnd as she traces arcane symbols in the air. a look of panic fills her face as she drops the spells suddenly, she reaches out and attempts to rip the eye out of the corpse's mouth.
"Sir! Its necromancy, they're attempting to raise the dead! We have to get it out now!"

Oooh. Here goes.
Tangle stabs the eye in the mouth (right?) with her dagger. Is it prone? Do I get advantage? Take the option that works best:
Straight up attack with a dagger: 7 to hit, for 3 piercing damage.
Second roll to hit (in case there is advantage for the eye being prone): 23
EDIT: Snort. Oh well.
