"See that you remain that way, Grixx."Is all Jury would say on the matter at the time.
"Do not be cocky. If that jar happened to have been trapped, diseased, or covered in poisoned, you would have compromised the group." Jury turns away on at that point and step away from the water to give Order room to get back onto the sand. Eventually, as per its ongoing orders. In the meantime, he would start to examine the jar while largely unaffected by the smell. He could sense it, of course. But the same warning sense of disgust was clearly not there.
"Interesting. Similiar, but not quite the same. One moment. I will inspect it to see if it has been magically imbued in some fashion."Jury began casting Identify. Before he loses himself completely in the casting, while Law is bade to guard the passage, Verdict is tasked with flying a short ways over the water and scan it for any signs of their future "challenge". But at the first sign of possible danger, it is to retreat back to his master's side with all due haste.
Grixx: It's hard to get much of a hint on the voice's tone. It is not really a voice, but a thought in your head. It speaks slowly and with pause, as if measuring its words, but not much more than that can be gathered.
Jury: You eventually identify the container of black oil as a jar of Oil of Slipperiness. While you are performing you ritual, Verdict explores a bit farther and sees a much larger body of water. There are small agglomerations of sand in the middle, serving as tiny islands if you will. The familiar also manages to see the edges of a foggy mass at the center of the large watery room(square AL-1, AL0, and AL1), but is unable to depict any further details at this time. The flying creature then returns to its spot by the edge of the water.
Over the course of the ritual, eventually, Order makes his way back up, now all slimy and covered in foul liquid. The rest of the party paces back and forth exploring the length of the hallway but not entering the room with the large pool of water.
"A potion of Water Breathing and Oil of Slipperiness. These do not bode well, if that line of thought is to be followed."Jury mutters to himself before rising and moving to catch up to the group. Law and Order are bade to follow and protect Jury as the group proceeds closer to the room. "Hold. The Jury wishes to convey his findings." And so, Jury does so as far as Verdict's knowledge of the path ahead, as well as suggest at the very least Grixx get lubed up for battle.
That is, assuming his assessment was correct on the available amount. "In addition. Charles rides along with Drago, and keep distance along with you, Drago. Meanwhile, Order, Law, and Grixx approaches fog and further assess the situation. Alternative Suggestion. We take an extensive rest. Both to recuperate current loses, and make any future preparations."He looks to Grixx in particular. "I understand, however, that the tenets of your faith demand more immediate action. As things are not dire at the moment, and rest will be difficult to find so long as creature insists on telepathic communication, I am willing to acquiesce to desire in this one event."

Grixx listens to Jury and his eyes begin the flare realizing that he is about to be set loose to do what he does best.
Grixx reaches out to Jury for the oil of slipperiness and looks around to companions as he says, "I can oil my front and arms but I will need help with my back and shoulders."
"I believe we should attempt to get a long rest if possible. I realize that Grixx and Charles may not benefit from it but Jury and I will. We only need 6 hours for Jury and 4 hours for me. I believe this will give us the ability to perform the tasks at hand with better success. "
"I also have unique talents from my dragon blood heritage that I believe we will find useful. After Jury has rested for 2 hours I can aid everyone and using my dragon blood heritage it will last for 16 hours (OOC: sorcery point doubling the time). Once I finish my 4 hours of rest 3 of us will have the benefit of my magic aid for 12 hours and we will all be back to 100% rested (full spell slots etc..) I believe this will give us a better opportunity for success!"
“We can sleep when we are dead! Something out there either needs or help or wishes us harm! I am ready to be greased like a pig at my tribes festivals!”
Grixx keeps his arm out for the lube.
While Grixx does this he again tries to communicate with the being, “Are you still safe?”
"Ok, we need to face the immediate challenges and then we can decide when to rest. So Charles are you ready to ride this broom of flying? It is easier than it looks. The broom just keeps you in the air, it is easy. Let me know what you are hearing from your new friend." Drago turns to the others. "So Charles and I can fly across the water. Jury is able to survive without breathing, I'll give this Potion of Water Breathing to Grixx. He will be the one who needs it most. So if we are ready Charles and I will begin by moving across the water to investigate what is on the other side. Jury and Grixx will follow when it is determined that they should. Am I missing anything?" Drago takes out the Potion of Water Breathing and hands it to Grixx.
Charles glances at the water and back to Drago, "Uh... yeah I can fly with the broom. My shots may not be as accurate as they could be, but I can try."
Jury regarded Drago closely for a while there, only to return his attention to Grixx. "Only to avoid the fog towards the center of the room. There is a possibility that it is only a distraction. But in the event that it is not, it is best we are as prepared as possible. Now. Eyes forward Grixx. I will see to your back first." He states, and as soon as he does so, Law is bade to get to work greasing up Grixx back. Jury even throws in a free massage while he is at... with his expert guidance of course.
"Remember. No matter what awaits us, we were chosen for these trials for a purpose. Rule Eighteen. Stand fast in the face of all adversity. No matter how small or insignificant. If it is your lot to lose your lives, you will rise again stronger for it. As the Hand of the Mother of Law, I will see to it."Jury had not mouth to which to smile, but the feeling is there in his words. A mirthful one meant for those that caught on to his words. "Here. Finish up the rest, Grixx, Son of Tempest, and we shall be off shortly." He says, passing the jar to Grixx once Law was done getting Grixx backside decently covered up.

"Ah my good man Charles this broom flies smooth and holds you solid. You will find your aim is straight and true! I also feel it will be a benefit for us if I aid some of us and so I give this to Grixx, Charles and myself at the most powerful level available for my abilities (OOC: this will use my second 5th level spell slot along with one sorcery point for extensiion out to 16 hours and will buff Grixx, Charles and Drago with 20 added HP and max HP increases by 20 so these are not temp HP so they don't conflict with the inspired words of Jury that gave us 12 Temp HP. The temp hp are the first to be used up when damage occurs.), I feel Jury will be able to handle himself best and the aid I offer can only be given to 3 at a time. Use it well! Burninator!" and the broom rises with Drago and Charles on board! They fly into the room with the larger pool of water while the others follow behind.
Drago and Charles fly towards AO-7 and try to get a better look at the room from there. They stay at about normal level (they don't rise high or anything.)
Jury has Verdict join the flying duo, but stay at least fifteen feet away from the duo. As for Law(with Moon-Touched Greatsword in hand) and Order, the duo are to join Grixx on making a direct path towards the fog, and attack whatever should try to attack the warrior of Tempus.
Jury hung back for the time being at the edge the very edge of the pool, ready to peek around and launch a Chill Touch at a moment's notice.
Grixx is not sure if it was the back rub, the words, or the thought of feeding his new sword but he is almost trembling from the excitement.
Grixx then places the Potion of underwater breathing in his backpack. While the backpack Ian open Grixx removes his shining shorts and places them in the backpack as well. He then takes the oil of slipperiness from Jury and lathers his body to ensure maximum naked slipperiness.
”Tempus, my body is ready! See me!”
Grixx draws his sword and charges/swims toward the island trying to get as close as he can with his movement.
As preparations are being made (oiled nakedness, aided party, mounting the Broom of Flying, Light-butt, inspirational speech, transfer of the Potion of Water Breathing, etc., but no rest) the voice reaches out to Grixx once more: "SAFE... YES... FOR... NOW... BUT... NOT... MUCH... LONGER"
The group then moves into the large room. The room is completely dark. Drago can steer the flying apparatus due to his darkvision, but the others now depend on Grixx to serve as a beacon of light in the darkness. Jury's minions can see as well in the dark, not being dependent on the barbarian.
Drago and Charles fly almost to the other wall. The elf, at least, reveals the large watery room in its entirety. If only the others could see it! The duo stays low, near the water and Charles cocks his pistol. Verdict follows along a few feet behind, giving Jury some eyes on the sky as well.
Grixx swims for the the closest piece of sticky gooey sand he can find. The zombies try to follow, but spend a long time sinking to the bottom, waiting to reach the waterbed so the can start moving toward the above-water land mass.
Jury positions himself by the water's edge are prepares to blast a spell at the first sign of trouble. Verdict passes on some information to Jury now that the familiar can see the foggy area in its entirety. Jury is familiar with such spell. It's Fog Cloud.

Masked by the murky water, a monstrous mass lies in wait and singles out the slow moving targets at the bottom of the pool. In his illuminated state, Law looks like a prime target, and with poor passive perception, it never sees it coming.
-> Tail (melee weapon attack with advantage) vs. Law: Attack: 27 Damage: 19 bludgeoning. The zombie takes a massive hit, but is still up for a fight.
-> None of you see this, so your readied actions do not trigger. Jury feels Law getting hit, but whatever it was it was too deep underwater.

By judging the voice inflection or tone is Grixx able to make any type of judgement regarding if this beings words are truthful?
