You hear a light tinkle of laughter from the trees to your left. "Respectful. Rise, daughter of Purr. I would forewarn you that, while the grove is lovely, the pond has been infiltrated by an evil that is beyond my power to expel." A beautiful female form emerges from behind a tree. Her whole body is made of various shades of green. From where you stand, you can tell that her skin is more of a smooth wood in texture, and her hair seems to be made of leaves. "You are welcome to drink from the waters, but I cannot be held responsible for the actions of that @!$%! (you can only assume it's a swear word in Sylvan, the language of the Fey). Unless..." She seems to take in the appearance of you and your party for the first time. "You are adventurers! You must make haste and slay the evil that has invaded my domain."
The Dryad smiled, then. Her face was warm and full of life.
A beautiful woman, made up of various shades of green, stepped from behind the trees in view of the other party members. She beckoned you with a hand to come forward and called out in Elvish:
For Cor and Twig (Since you're the only ones who speak Elvish):
"Come, champions! Vanquish this mighty foe. I will join you in glory and peace shall be restored to the grove once more."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Garth was standing on the balls of his feet, scanning the trees for threats after seeing Twig begin to act strangely. Upon seeing the strange woman, and Cor speaking a strange language before moving towards, Garth shouts to Cor and Twig. "Everything okay?"
"This isn't weird at all." Garth whispers to Rad, and he continued to scan the area for threats.
"Some of my companions do not speak this tongue. I will go and tell them what is happening"
Twig nods respectfully to the dryad before jogging to her companions. She passes Cor right before getting to Rad and Garth, and with a flick of her head, indicates that he should come, too.
(If Cor comes, this spoiler is for him, too)
For Garth and Rad
"That" Twig says, thumbing over her shoulder, "is a dryad. It is of utmost importance that we are very respectful. Any disrespect may be seen as a physical attack. She speaks Elvish, and probably Sylvan. I am unsure if she speaks Common Tongue, so Cor or I may need to translate. The good news is she is willing to let us pass through and refill our water skins. The bad news is that there is some evil that has overtaken the water and that the dryad cannot deal with on her own, and she has now invited us to vanquish this evil with her." Twig pauses to take a breath after speaking so much and so quickly. "I think you're all caught up now. I don't think we have much of a choice, being on our second day with no water. So, onward?"
"Alright... I agree that we need water and should help. Can you tell her that I am going to pull out my sword to ready myself for the evil she needs help with, and it is by no means meant as a threat to her?" Garth asked Twig as he cautiously follows her towards the water.
The Dryad leads the party to the pond, but stays a good thirty feet from the edge of the water. When she stops, she points to the water and says to you all, Twig translating for the others, "Go! Vanquish! For glory fight, and life alive, for goals unreached and aims to strive. Slay with might and pain and breath, for failure only lays in death!"
With that said, she waits pointedly looks at the group to approach the water.
The Dryad smiles at Twig. "Names are things of power, they should be shared beneath a bower. Go and slay what is deplored, and you will have your just reward."
Rad lobbed a huge stone about the size of his head into the pond and braced for the retaliation. After about thirty seconds of waiting, nothing happened. The water calmed from the ripples of the tossed stone and then... nothing.

The creature immediately gets hit by an arrow from Twig's bow. It lashes out in frustration, throwing its harpoon at the closest target - Cor - and spears him through the chest, dealing 13 damage. Cor grasps at the harpoon in his midsection weakly before succumbing to blood loss and passes out on the grass. The creature yanks the rope attached to its harpoon and it returns to its claws. It slithers out of the pond, about five feet from Cor's unconscious body, and roars again.

The warhammer connects and the creature feels its insides rupture from the impact and it doubles over, still restrained by the vines. It screams in pain and rage and the pond begins to bubble and steam behind it.

Cor gets 15 ft away from the water and casts Shape Water, causing the water to freeze 5 feet outwards.
"Maybe this'll get that thing to come out."
Twig then speaks to her companions “She’s not giving us any information on the evil. And now she is actually speaking in verse,” she shrugs
A few moments after the water freezes, a large creature bursts through the ice and roars, lofting its harpoon in challenge.
