As the party enters the new cavern they can see a path to a pool about 50 feet away (maybe 40 feet if you don't take the path). At the pool’s edge is a lifelike statue of a hook horror.
Tallis keeps his guard up for any sign of danger. Slaughter was one thing, but illusions were tricky. "I don't like tricks, Ma'am. Shroud us in your care if needed."

Baik breaks ranks and heads down to investigate the statue. When he gets to the statue he can see a ten-foot-diameter circle of runes and black onyx fragments is set into the floor. It exudes wisps of shadowy energy that look like curling black smoke. It is 30 feet west of him. He recognizes it as one of the Black Gates Syranna was talking about. He strikes the statue with his spear. As he does two large bull like creatures (Gorgons) stand up. They were apparently lightly sleeping, but are now awake and ready to defend their territory. They paw the grass and get ready to charge Baik.

"Well this isn't good. Baik, My Lady says you may want to come back this way!" Tallis' wounds, though mostly healed, were still bothering him from the previous engagement. Sheathing his normal blade, his black short sword stretches and curves until it forms a phantom longbow.

Corvin says to Baik, Tallis and Velmine, "May your weapons strike true," as he casts Bless (as a bonus action with Embodiment of the Law) on them, giving Tallis an opportunity to use his reaction to perform a weapon attack at G1 (with voice of authority). He then turns to G1 himself and launches a Sacred Flame at the monster (DC 17 dex save or take 10 damage)

I don't see and ammunition in your equipment. Does your pact weapon account for this. If this was just an oversight on your part, go ahead and buy a quiver or two if you have the Gp. Remember to subtract each arrow as you use it, you can spend a minute or two after a fight to retrieve half of the spent ammunition.
The Gorgon has half cover from the patch of trees between it and you (tree trunks, you can stand underneath the trees), but Tallis hits the BULLSEYE, so to speak. (You didn't specify which one you were shooting at, I need to know so I can keep track of their HP)

(All fixed. Not sure why, but I always pictured the Improved Pact Weapon additions as not needing ammo, but it never explicitly says as much.)

No, no, fire spells work great. You just weren't casting the right ones. You need to light them on fire.

Forest of Illusion. Statue. Huh. Well, this should be fun. Baik moves up as close as he can to the statue, and chucks his spear.

Sorry that was a pun. The Gorgon being a bull like creature.
You didn't actually hit the eye :(
Still not to know if you shoot at G1 or G2
(My post specified he could use his reaction to shoot G1. Voice of Authority lets me pick the creature my ally gets to attack)
