// I don't have access to a map, so some DM input regarding a few options regarding which trail to take plus a pro & con for each based on the collective experience of those far travelers would be appreciated - figured you'd give us a few option and then the party can decide which way to go. //
I ll upload a map for you to see (Taylon has one ) and I ll add a few details you might know.

"What I learned to cook a variety of dishes, and to make sure your food tastes great you have to sample it right." He says looking at his midsection. He then shakes his head.
"You look like you haven't eaten enough. Did they starve you guys during your studies? Cause if so I am glad I didn't take my aunts advice and seek out the mystic arts!"
"You are not mistaken friends. Fortunately I got you to remind me to get out sometimes... with all of this we hadn't time to speak properly. It's good to see you "
She taps the minotaur's shoulder
" It's ok my friend I must admit that I've forgotten to eat sometimes, so immerse I was in my studies. Why don't we go to prepare something for dinner? The rest would appreciate it. " she turns to Alex " No worries, no need for fire, I will heat the pot with my magic... I do not like to waste my energies or use magic for frivolities, but I think we are in a kind of emergency here "
OOC: I would like to have you do (Those who have travelled far and wide) a Survival Check DC 15
Shan knows that the lost city of Xak Tsaroth is on the other side of the Abanisinia plains. It would take three weeks from Solace just to cross the plains.

// Survival Check 10 //
Brenton... although having just come from the east is not entirely sure of what path to take as he doesn't know where this Xak Tsaroth is, but he will offer input on what he does know, if it's of help.
Brenton doesn't know much about the region. He knows he can help once the path has been set but the area is too close to Solace. He roamed farther during the five years he was away.
Still the Plainsmen tribes are not the most welcoming of strangers. But they are easily bought or cowed by show of strength.
Zar and Alex leave the others companions for almost an hour, foraging and hunting. They come back with enough for the whole group. They have not seen any troop movement out in the forest.
Fangor looking at the map recalls some legends about Darkmere Forest. He knows that Oldoak, a giant tree, looks over the beasts and creatures of the Forest and that he is helped in this by the Forestmaster a legendary creature in its own right. Supposedly he helped Huma centuries ago travel through the land, hidden from the sight of evil. Still many warnings and dire tales now shroud the Darkmere Forest and it is said that one must not leave the paths for the dead now walk under the moon.
Cairn remembers that the dwarves had underground tunnels that linked their fortresses and outposts. He doesn't know if they are still usable but he is sure that one such outpost lies on the eastern edge of the Abanisinia Plains. He is not sure if another outpost is in their current area.
(Cairn explains this as he politely gobbles up the fresh food, as he hasn't had a good meal in some time, and also thanks the hunting party as he picks his teeth.)
Fangor recites the information about Darkmere Forrest, the Forestmaster and the giant tree, as well as the warning. He ends with "Personally, I don't mind fighting undead, but I would not want to cross the Forestmaster's path."

I have an intelligence of six, I know what I'm doing.
"Are we going to see this big tree Fangor? Do you think it would be greater than a vallenwood? Could I climb to his branches? If its greater than a vallenwood then the sights from atop would be great, don't you think? I remember that time when I climbed up to the Last Home Inn's vallenwwond and that branch broke and I fell into the roof and Otik had me reparing it, as if it was my fault! But... you said undeads? who one can be un-dead? I mean, you either are dead or not. I had an encounter with that kind of creatures once in these years, a couple of nasty fellows that where gnawing into their own family bones... disgsuting... there was a Solmanic Knight there too and I had to help her or those creatures would had killed her! She got paralized when they attacked her! Hey Kaira!! does all the undead paralized their victims? I wonder what you must feel if you are paralized. And what if you are peeing and you get paralized? Did you stop peeing? That could be very useful, don't you think Solomon? Wait, on second thought, if you are paralized you can't go to the bathroom... I guess is not that good idea after all... "
Taylon, this tree ain't like normal trees. Its very special and there's many tha' respect it because it is so old. I don't know if it be wise to climb it.
he smiles wide
Im sure yer a great climber, but in a sense, it's a great sentinel of the Forrest, a watcher. Ever vigilant.
He puts his hand up across his brow as if to block the sun and see farther, exaggerating the action of "looking".
