If that'll be the vote, then lets do it. But I'll still be hoping we get in a long delightful rest before they arrive. Who'll take first watch after we set up the ambush?

"I agree and think a good rest should take place first, then in the morning the paladin and I can take the main circle, with him clad in Redbrand attire, while the others are perched upon roof tops. I think we should have some kind of code word for when to attack, no? Maybe something like, 'Oh no, we're in danger' then pause for dramatic effect, then 'NOT!' and then we reign down fire! That way, no one has to keep watch per se, the group just waits for the signal."

Ooc : it's midmorning! We've been awake about 2 hours!
Ooc: are we not still nursing wounds and regaining spells or am I missing something? I can always take the potion given me but Scupper figured to save for a time in battle when someone might truly need that kind of thing and it can't be done through rest. I believe I'm at 5 HP.
Yes, several of the party are still very badly wounded. You could choose to take a short rest and use hit dice to recover much of that health, but some of the abilities used up in the battle, notably cleric and sorcerer spells and paladin lay-on-hands ability would not recover until you take a long rest. Rules on a long rest are 'A character can't benefit from more than one long rest in a 24-hour period', and since you only woke up a few hours ago, you can't take another long rest yet. We can be a bit flexible with the timing - and we had an early 'long rest' after the fight when you met Dekhan - but not back-to-back 'long rests', if that makes sense.
Varinth finds his little wooden cup and pours himself a wine.
Did anybody ask where they live? Maybe even a general direction?
Looking around at the blank faces, he downs his wine.
Ok then. Here's my plan. We pile the bodies here in the middle of the camp. I burn them sharpish. Perhaps you wake up Mr Unlucky He points to Strixs prisoner so he can see and perhaps tell us as much about his mates as he can. Those that need resting can have a wee lie down or tend to there wounds. Once we are all done we head back, sweepin' a branch across our path. Now, maybe know some things from Redbland No.3 and can act appropriate. Set up an ambush in town where there are rooftops and friendly people who might help and our comfy beds are paid up for another two nights. How's that sound?
Vaz pours himself another wine feeling a little vunerable
OOC: How about this then: We interrogate the prisoner and we spend today trying to find out who all wants the Redbrands out of here, I think Daran said that the halfling was one of them and willing to pay. Then once we have that info, we can go to sleep that night as a long rest. For the time being, we can do a short rest for whoever needs it?
Oh oh oh! Baldie make voice! Dekhan ask question! Mr Lucky watch. Deadbrand no answer, Varinth burn body, Baldie make screams. Mr Lucky talk. Me wake 'im!
Put your spoiler here.(Minor illusion can make noises instead of images I think)
Don't get me wrong. I'm on 2hp, I need an LR badly. But if we're going to take one after every combat it gets silly. We might as well just hold the game hostage and demand Steve fully heal us after every encounter. It was a tough fight, I think it deserved us going all-in. But now we need to pace ourselves till bed time.

I agree 100%. My thing is, I think it is obvious that if we have another encounter like that, it can be VERY bad. I'm not asking to get healed after every encounter, however, I do think it's smart to do some exploration and push the narrative before another combat encounter, which hopefully will be the next day.
Presently I think we need to avoid getting into a standup fight. So I’m for interrogating/interviewing/incognito-ing if there’s a productive way to use our time so that we can get to a smart place to rest, ie questioning mr. lucky, talking to townspeople, or sending sneakforce 1(Scupper and Dario) to spy what they can spy great. If not, we can do what healing we can do and press on. I don’t want to play the way I played Baldur’s Gate when I was a kid and rest until healed after every fight. Althooough, maybe some greatful townspeople of a clericy nature could be persuaded to give us some healing...
Perhaps the priestess you spoke to could be persuaded to help us with some healing, then we could examine our situation with fresh unblackened eyes.

"I doubt I am any closer to the priestess than any of you," Zoria replies. "I have only recently met her. However, Daran did inform me that she needed a job completed near Neverwinter Wood. Maybe we could do her job for her in a trade for shelter and healing?" When Zoria says the word 'healing' she flutters her hands like a butterfly swooping upward.
"My powers should prove quite useful in that endeavor"...Incantis steps forward, projecting his mind into the Redbrand's when he awakens. "Remember us? You caused us quite the trouble, trouble you'll be in if you don't turn around help us. What do you say? I'm quite the reasonable person but my companions can be quick to anger."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
As the interrogation starts Varinth will make himself a small space to rest up by Soodi and attend to his wound, pausing only to stoke the fire with his theurgy ways.
Dekhan uses his hit dice as well 12 and he will aid Strix in his interrogation by grabbing mr. lucky by the lapels Listen, you fool, I’m trying to save you! Do you want this man to kill you? Tell us what we need to know! Sate his bloodlust with morsels of knowledge! Help me help you! Persuasion 14

Scupper will sit calmly to the side and wait in case the persuasion method works. He watches the proceedings with interest but waits his turn.
Let me know if we need to try other methods lads
I'm guessing you don't want to combine persuasion and intimidation and I don't know if I can hear Incantus in my head as well...so I'm figuring if that great persuasion roll doesn't pull it off, Scupper will try intimidation next...and hopefully not make a fool of himself
