OOC: Good shout, thanks! Remembered at the time but then for some reason moved on but still had a feeling I'd forgotten something. I've updated the post now. Luckily managed to meet the spell save!
Serak: Seeing the Bugbear flee and fearing it will raise an alarm, Serak moves north 5ft, just enough to be able to see down the corridor to the far wall.
Cast: Sleep - HP Effected: 16 - Target: Far Corridor Wall

OOC: for now I was still using the other longsword because I can't make the new sword my hex weapon until after a long rest. Since it is a +1hit and +1 dam it will be the same if I use it or my hex weapon. After I make it my hex weapon it will be better to hit and damage but until then it does the same numbers as the other longsword because Talon will run off my strength and the other sword off my Cha.
OOC: Ah ok. Didn't know that about the hex weapons! Oh well no harm done and now you know about the new sword! Ill stick to your older sword until the long rest!
Brots and Syna - Just need your attacks for this round
[OOC: I believe you said he had half cover due to Beetle, Zyltris and Syna correct?]
[OOC: If so] Brots is going to cast Minor Illusion, he is going to mimic a bunch of goblin ramblings around bugbear. They are going to shout "Kaagaakaan oc Rhorlaar! Haar Rhorlaar! Oc Tagaagec!"
Translation:
Revenge on Bugbear! Get Bugbear! End Slavery!
[OOC: If I have a shot on Bugbear without hurting friends]
Brots is going to notch his arrow, take aim, and when he has a clear shot, he is going to release it. Attack: 13 Damage: 8
Casting Minor Illusion, Brots fills the corridor with the sound of revolting goblins. The bugbears in the corridor look around confused, they spin around trying to locate the source of the cries. (Distracted until they can take an action)
The nearest one yells to the bugbear with an eyepatch "Dar an den? Druun daan kaarthuush magaan ghuugaan huukec?"
"What is this? Do the redcloaks have more goblins?"
Syna extends the staff in his left hand shouting, "Zyma lʹodu Pirs i rana". A shard of ice streaks forth towards the eyepatched Bugbear.
Synas Attack Roll: 14
The shard sails through the air and smashes into a thousand crystals against the far wall. The bugbear, distracted by the sound of approaching goblins, steps aside just in time.
Bugbear 1 Dexterity Save Roll: 21 Bugbear 2 Dexterity Save Roll: 13 Bugbear 3 Dexterity Save Roll: 15
(OOC: If I haven't worked this out right let me know me and I'll fix it. If I'm understanding it, the first attack roll is against the bugbears AC, then regardless the others roll for a dex save of 13?)
Seeing the Bugbear flee and fearing it will raise an alarm, Serak moves north 5ft, just enough to be able to see down the corridor to the far wall.
In the southern room, the Bugbears eyes draw heavy. A sudden shock of pain brings him round and he stays awake. Trying in vain to bandage his torso, his mind fills with thoughts of anger and revenge. From the top of the stairs the party hears a muffled roar radiate from the southern room.
OOC: Same rules as last round then. Corridor is quite narrow so half cover provided by Beetle/ Syna/ Zyltris unless they move away. Make your moves when you can and I'll compile them again at the end of the round.
As ever, any probs let me know and I can update for this round
[OOC: Only one medium or small creature can take up a 5ft space at a time. The hallway is single file only, so only one of you can engage the Bugbear. We needed them to come to us to fight them properly. Only Beetle can attack without cover penalties or disadvantage.
Also, you never applied Beetle's Critical Damage to B1 from what I see. Or was the 12 damage including the critical? Also, he took 2 damage due to ribs. Almost sure that Bugbear didn't have enough HP left to stay awake, he'd need to have started with 31 HP minimum to still be awake.]
OOC: Not if I went a little further to the right and was kinda in the middle of B2 & B3, not in between them but to the right of them mid, if that makes any sense
I think the crit damage was in the roll, I think the combat roller automatically rolled 2d8 for damage when it saw the 20 to hit
[OOC: I thought the 9 you rolled was his critical damage, and then he took 2 damage from his ribs. Now I realize they were saving throws... I thought he was near dead. Wasted spell.

"Not all those who wander are lost." - J.R.R. Tolkien
OOC: The 9 was a roll for the injury from the critical hit,. 2 was a saving throw of which he needed a 10 to make an action. Should have been clearer! If it makes you feel better, you weren't far off for the sleep spell.
Taking long strides down the stairs, Beetle charges at the nearest Bugbear casting Green-Flame Blade . As he nears and he calls out, "Tyr guide this strike to down our foe."
Attack: 21 Damage: 10
As the blade hits the bugbear, a bright green flame bursts forth onto the eyepatched beast behind, causing 3 damage. Hearing Zyltris charge behind him, Beetle takes a step backwards, making way for his friend.
Zyltris charges through, morningstar swinging ahead of him. He targets the first Bugbear he meets at the bottom of the stairs.
Attack: 23 Damage: 6
Morningstar smashes into the beast, knocking it off balance, forcing it to take a half step backwards.
The first Bugbear, (B1), steps out again from the southern room. His broken ribs, greatly hampering his movement, he draws a javelin and hurls it towards Syna at the top of the staircase.
Bugbear (B1) Constitution Save: 12
The bugbears injuries hamper his throw. Weakened and unable to swing his arm, the beast withdraws around the corner of the corridor.
While the second of the bugbears (B2) struggles to find the origin of the Goblin voices, the eye patched Bugbear (B3) realizes it is a cheap trick. He slaps his compatriot on the back yelling, "Arther! Ar an ac al'dorec! Daan okec mal Droop! Duun ar!"
"Idiot! It's an illusion! We only had Droop! To arms!"
Both Bugbears regain themselves, once more prepared to attack.
Moving in beside Syna, Brots notches another arrow aiming towards the nearest bugbear (B2) attempting to fire past the elf.
Attack: 16
Firing down the stairs, Brots arrow sails directly at its mark. As it nears the target, Zyltris steps in the missiles way, causing it to harmlessly deflect off his chain mail.
Yelling at the lead Bugbear, Serak says, "More of you? What, was there a sale on ugly at the market this week?"
Bugbear Wisdom Saving Throw: 3 Serak Spell Save Throw: 13
The bugbear simply responds back to the bard, "Looks like you took full advantage if there was, Half Elf!"
At the top of the staircase, Syna cools the air around him and prepares another Frostbite spell.
Bugbear (B2) Constitution Saving Throw: 10 Syna Spell Save DC: 13 Frostbite Damage: 4 + D/A on next turn weapon attack roll
The cold air descends onto the bugbear, his muscled arms slowly begin to glisten with crystals of ice. His movement slows as a thin layer of ice begins to harden all around him.
[OOC: Okay, cool. So Beetle and Zyltris can take turns stepping forward to attack while the other steps back. Learning a lot from this game so far. Thanks for running it and being patient with all my questions and ramblings guys. lol I plan to eventually DM an adventure I wrote years ago and want to make sure I have this stuff down before I try it.
Anyway, more Vicious Mockery at the lead Bugbear from Serak if I don't post anything before you're ready to resolve the next round. I work late tonight so just assume Serak is trying to give Disadvantage to whoever is about to swing at Beetle or Zyltris.

the Green flame jumps to B3 for 3 damage.
Brots, taking advantage of the distraction will move up to right behind Syna, and attempt to fire past him.

If Brots is unable to do so, he will get behind Syna, put away his bow and take out his daggers, readying himself for the next attack.

OOC: Almarath is correct here. You can engage but you need enough movement to move back to another empty square.
If someone is in the frontal 5ft of a target it’ll have +2AC as well.
I think you’re mostly ok right now, your rolls have been pretty good. But Almarath has the more efficient tactic overall
For beetle crit, I checked the roll and an additional dice was rolled so the crit was included there
