[OOC: Death is way less scary in 5e, but if you revive Syna now, the drunk a-holes will just immediately down him again. We have 3 rounds minimum before we die, unless we botch a roll. Dude, use your Action Surge to finish this fight. Please. lol
Edit: Never mind, good job guys you might have just killed them both, or very close. Crazy fight. If I hadn't wasted two spells on stupid errors, we'd of had this. I have a way better understanding now of how my spells work.
Beetle seeing three of his comrades down, turns to Tyr once more, "Tyr please get us out of this situation and guide our blades..."
Casting his mind back to the shrine, he focuses on being a force of good in this nest of evil. Casting Green-Flame Blade Beetle raises his longsword, shining green in the firelight.
Attack: 23 Damage: 6
Green Flames leap from one cloak to another, burning the redbrand who drunkenly supports himself at the corridor opening. Thanking Tyr once more, Beetle lifts and prepares his shield, ready for a countering blow.
Concerned for his friends, he yells out from behind his raised defenses, "Tyr watch over our friends and belay their death Zyltris and I are coming!!!"
Turning fully, Zyltris charges back towards the chamber and at the redbrand blocking his way. Morningstar in hand he lashes out to avenge his fallen comrades.
Attack:23 Damage: 8
The elfs morningstar smashes into the opposing redbrand shattering bones and killing the redbrand stone dead. Without breaking stride, Zyltris engages with a second redbrand (R2), swinging his morningstar once more.
Zyltris Attack Roll: 7
The elf misjudges his targets position. Propping himself against the chamber wall, the redbrand stands awkwardly as the morningstar swings passed harmlessly.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
OOC: Fair enough. Making adjustments here to prevent the edit of the die roll.
Zyltris will charge at and through R3 with the prior attack as noted. If R3 is dead he will continue on towards R2. Action Surge will be used to either hit R3 a 2nd time if R3 does not die between Beetle and Zyltris' attacks. If R3 is dead the Action Surge attack will be used to go after R2.
This roll is for the Action Surge attack: Attack: 17 Damage: 10
[OOC: Sorry, I didn't look at how much damage you both just did when I posted that. Syna will still get an action this turn, after the Redbrands. Smart to revive him. I'm sorry guys, I need to start minding my own business. You got this.]
OOC: Updated the previous post for Zyltris new attack. Tough break with the rolls again!
In the warmth of the tunnel the Bugbear continues to snooze peacefully in the glow of the bonfire.
Brots Death Saving Throw: 20
In the safety of the stone column, Brots body lies still. In his mind the forest home he once knew becomes more distant, the squirrels and unicorns disappear as the sound of battle becomes louder and more vivid in his ears.
Serak Death Saving Throw: 4
Serak lies a short distance away, surrounded by his fallen allies. The sounds of battle drift slowly away from him, gradually replaced by a faint trickle of laughter from an indeterminable point.
The redbrand supporting himself against the wall regains his composure. Confronted with the dominant figure of Zyltris before him, he spurs himself into action slicing his sword towards the elf.
Redbrand 2 Attack 1: 6
His first attack glancing against the cave wall sending sparks flying across Zyltris chain mail. With a backhanded swipe the redbrand tries again.
Redbrand 2 Attack 2: 9
Another miss. In a stupor the redbrand completely forgets which end of his sword is more dangerous, barely scraping his blade against his opponents morningstar. Bemused, the red cloaked man lets out a faint giggle, completely detached from the gravity of his failure.
A few strides northwards, the final surviving Redbrand continues to dream contently. Chasing the barmaid from The Stonehill Inn across the town square, bad deeds and maltreatment in his heart.
Syna Death Saving Throw: 15
In the chaos of the southern end of the chamber, Syna continues to drift away silently. A sense of peace overcomes him as faint apparitions of his old masters come into view.
OOC: I know you guys would have seen this but just incase. Another negative death save on Syna and he'll be dead. If there was a time to heal him it would be now
OOC: can Beetle pull Syna back to his square and take Syna's square or will that give R2 an opportunity attack? Also the bonfire would have went out when Syna went down since the concentration broke.
Beetle will use the healing potion he has on Syna. (Assuming I still had it because I don't think I ever passed it off to Serak earlier because R1 never died and I didn't move)
OOC: if you weren't about to die I would use it on him cause he has a healing spell still to get another up....lol...but your a more pressing matter, we aren't losing anyone!!!!
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Seeing the colour fade from Synas lifeless body, Beetle hurries over to his friend. Sitting the druid upright he opens the Potion of Healing from Synas pocket and pours its contents into his mouth.
Healing Effect: 7
The potion takes effect instantly revived and Synas eyes open. Dragging his ally to his feet, Beetle redraws his sword. Ready to end this fight as soon as possible.
Standing beside the revived druid, Zyltris charges again towards the swaying redbrand in the corner of the chamber. Swinging the morningstar yet again, Zyltris aims a blow at the redbrands head.
Attack: 22 Damage: 9
The morningstar smashes sideways into the redbrands skull. It's a deafening blow, almost knocking the target cleanly off his feet, but somehow he remains upright, shaken but alive.
[OOC: Yeah, Syna needs the heal this round. Serak still has two more failures, so he will only die on a botch. Halflings have Luck so Brots is nigh immortal, assuming he's allowed to use it on death saves. lol]

"Not all those who wander are lost." - J.R.R. Tolkien
OOC: I think we are going to need to go back to town for a long rest after this battle, then come back and finish the place. Figure out who still has healing potions also after this and re-distribute them if any....lol
[OOC: The bosses will clear out of this hideout by then. I think we just killed at least this whole side of the dungeon.
A short rest while we guard the cave entrance will get us to full HP with Song of Rest, or near enough. We just proved were good without the spells. We just got flanked is all. We should have seen it coming when they all went the other direction.]

Down the corridor, the bugbear continues to sleep soundly. Blissfully unaware of the turning tide of the battle a short distance away.
Brots Death Saving Throw: 14
Beside the stone column, the gnome slowly reopens his eyes. Confused about where he is or how he got here. He vaguely remembers being confronted with a bright red cloak.... but the rest is a blur.
Seraks Death Saving Throw: 5
Beside the awakened gnome, Serak continues to lie dormant. The faint laughter slowly dominating his mind, a familiar voice of a woman slowly takes the human form of Halia Thornton.
The mixture of alcohol and dizziness consumes the last standing redbrand. Seeing his enemies awaken around him he strikes out in desperation at Zyltris once more
Redbrand 2 Attack 1: 8
With his forearm swing missing, he steadies himself and tries to shake clarity into his spinning mind. Knowing this could be his last chance to strike the elf, he aims another attack, this time backhanded.
Redbrand 2 Attack 2: 5
The attack misses once more. The redbrands mind is clouded and muddled, causing him to forget exactly what it was that he was doing a mere moment ago.
Redbrand 4 continues to dream happily across the chamber. The barmaid has been caught as screams fill the town square.
OOC: I'm not too sure about just a short rest, I do still have my shield spell cause everytime I am ready to use it they miss but I also think it will depend on how many healing potions are left if we are going without a long rest...I, and I assume you guys as well will pick up a few more spell slots if we level also, not sure this will do it but going to have to be close I think.
If everyone has rations, and if not i think i have 5/6 of them we could try to do a long rest in one of the rooms we just cleared out also, chance a wandering encounter but it could be doable.
For now we have a few sleeper to kill and Serak is about to die.....

OOC: Itd be an action to pull Syna away. And it’d surely be an opportunity attack against Beetle and Syna as well.
Good point about the bonfire! Forgot about it in the excitement.
Zyltris will charge towards R2, swinging the morningstar yet again. Attack: 22 Damage: 9
Beetle will use the healing potion he has on Syna. (Assuming I still had it because I don't think I ever passed it off to Serak earlier because R1 never died and I didn't move)
[OOC: I don't think Serak ended up with it, but feel free to use your Item Interaction to take it from Serak's dead worthless hands if he has it. lol
Syna also has the healing potion Serak gave him earlier, so there should be one in reach for you.]
