OOC: yes I agree with that 100% we do have at least another fight or 2 in us if we needed it, and yes it was the flank that killed us once we went to the top of the steps and the bugbear ran we couldn't get to him and the reinforcements came from the other direction.
OOC: Treat it how you like guys. I like to treat these things realistically. If there’s still enemies nearby chances are they will move around the other rooms as they normally would. It’s unrealistic to assume they would all sit in the same room until something happens.
Saying that some characters could be on guard duty or something and not leave a specific point for a set time. Deliveries could come in, war parties could be returning. Not giving you specific examples here just an idea.
I’m not going to break a rest for the sake of it just to be a dick but if you rest in an area you’re likely to be found then chances are you might be!
OOC: Well we can move on and it will probably be fine, but Serak is right that we need to check those east corridors so we don't get flanked again, then after we might want to back track and check those rooms at the bottom of the stairs...Either way Beetle will starting checking the bodies of theses fallen ones for any loot and then help Serak get them into the crevasse.

Searching through the bodies of the dead, Serak seems to have more luck than his paladin compatriot, pulling handfuls of coins from the pockets of the slain.
In total he manages to find 20 Copper Pieces, 35Silver and 38 Gold.
Serak: After the party searches and disposes of the bodies, Serak quietly approaches the northern bridge. He inspects the bridge thoroughly before deciding to just go down the crevasse and up the other side. He grabs several wedge-shaped rocks long the way.
Investigation: 17
Making sure no one else heard the battle, the bard approaches the northeastern passage first, creeping up and peeking around the corner. Assuming nothing jumps out and tries to kill him, he then approaches the entrance to the southeastern passage and does the same.

"Not all those who wander are lost." - J.R.R. Tolkien
As the party dispose of the bodies, Zyltris notices the Semi-Precious stones set in the black leather eyepatch of one of the bugbear. Carefully he pockets the gems.
Making his way past the northern bridge, Serak checks it for stability and traps. He sees that unlike the southern bridge, this one has been untampered with.
To the north of the chamber Serak finds a room finished with dressed stone block walls and a flagstone floor. Several barrels are stored in the corners against the walls here, along with a number of empty crates, straw for packing, hammers, crow bars, and nails. A short recession sits in the far right corner of the wall, possibly once used for stacking barrels. The cold air drifts slowly into this area from behind the bard.
Otherwise this room appears to be empty, leading only into the crevasse chamber.
Heading south along the opposite side of the crevasse, Serak approaches the south eastern corridor. It is as well lit and narrow as the corridor on the opposite side of the fissure. 15feet down, the corridor bends sharply to the right before continuing, preventing the bard from seeing any further. The corridor remains quiet and still.
OOC: I’m fine with whatever we do on the resting. Zyltris has full health and I believe only retains Action Surge but on either a short or long rest. Also, I’ll be on the road today so not likely able to check in much. If we get into any battles the Morningstar has been effective so I’ll go with that.
OOC: If I'm at max hp and I level up, does my hp stay where it is or scale up with my level? so like, it was 11, with the level up, its at 18 now, do I scale it to 18 or keep it at 11.
Serak: Stepping quietly to the bend in the southern corridor, Serak peeks around the corner. He checks for traps as he goes, stopping only at a sign of danger or enemies.
Making his way down the corridor, Serak sees no traps of any kind. The walls and floor are consistent and smooth, the air cool and fresh. The corridor ends abruptly after about 40 feet, with no obvious entrances to or from the passage. It’s a dead end.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Serak: Turning to report the suspicious dead end to the others, Serak meets Beetle at the entrance of the corridor and says, "Dead end this way, but it is well lit, which is odd. I suspect a secret door, but I'm still out of sorts from my brush with death. Would you help me take a look?"

OOC: My Advantage rolls are cursed. lol There must be something here. I say we just go back and take a look in the rooms the enemies were in. We can come back here with everyone. One of us is bound to roll well.

OOC: Well let's search these guys and see what is in the rooms they were in. It might sway our decision.
Right now leaning toward Short Rest while guarding the Eastern Passages and any stairs or anything in here.

OOC: I'm sorry everyone! I'm working on Level 2 now, as far as resting, are we taking a short rest?
I don't have a signature.
OOC: we didn't rest yet Serak is checking everything out first
OOC: If I'm at max hp and I level up, does my hp stay where it is or scale up with my level? so like, it was 11, with the level up, its at 18 now, do I scale it to 18 or keep it at 11.

OOC: I'm not sure, I think you get the new hp but I'm not sure
OOC: New HP are full when you level up so you would go from 11/11 to 18/18.
If you had taken damage and had 5/11 for example, you would add on the new points as healed points. So you would go from 5/11 to 12/18.
Long story short, you’re up to 18/18
