Briar looks sadly in the direction the lonely giant took in his haste, "goodbye and good luck sweet one, I hope you find something better, a kinder world perhaps." Then turns to the Elf and the others, "yes, it could have been much, much worse. It's best for him to go his own way... before a misunderstanding resulted. But at least we found something out, not much perhaps but now we know to be wary. I am sorry I screwed up and was unable to win his trust, maybe the old librarian was right about me after all. I am just a silly, selfish, arrogant girl after all."
"Eh no need to blame yaself, seems he may just be scared. Hopefully we can someday see him again." Priton says as he scratches Daeirn "Best we move on for now and try and get to our destination"

Briar nods and smiles at Priton, "well I guess you just don't know me all that well then, not to worry I am told that I grow on a person. I was just checking to see which one of you silly sods has fallen head over heels in love with me already, why is it Dragonborn are always the soulful romantic ones? But yeah you are right, lets head out..." That said, she gathers her things and is ready to go as soon as everyone else is.
Gathering your supplies and getting back in the wagon you set off down the trail again. You lost about two and a half hours of travel time. You make your way and eventually set up for camp. Another clear night, nothing threatening during your watches. You complete another day of travel without too much trouble. You’ve started to pass over some rivers and some small lakes. The constant hum of birds and bugs around you as you traverse the path. On the fourth day you wale up to a loud roar of thunder. The skies are black and it’s about to rain. Briar, using you’re druidcraft figure out that it’s going to be a loooong long storm. Anything you would like to do to prepare for the day?
Briar frowns as she looks to the others,Druidcraft is perhaps the best most useful little piece of magic she has as her disposal which has become something of a daily routine in checking it... but she is one who is never happy to learn of an approaching storm, especially a big one, and most especially when outdoors traveling.
Prompted by the loud roar of thunder she casts her cantrip to confirm what is pretty much obvious to everyone given the black skies... but at least it provides a little detail and warning of what is yet to come. Looking at the rest, "I don't know about you all but I think this storm going be a doozie, a long one in any event. So I think we basically have two options, one to start looking for some shelter close by we can seek a temporary refuge, at least until we can better gauge how rough the storm is going to be and if we can even travel during it... if not then just wait it out. So perhaps a small village, a solitary inn along the road, even a cave or just an area suitable to park/position the wagon and use our tent to construct a sturdy lean-to, etc. and hope for the best that we will be able to ride out the storm until it is safe to travel again."
Looking around nervously she adds, "or we could seek to just keep going with the wagon, rain or shine, if so... given we know that we are definitely going to get some rain we might want to consider stopping just long enough to gather suitable branches and other such materials we can scrounge in order to lash them together in the back of the wagon (a primitive make-shift covered wagon) and give us some sort cover. Though crude and basic with pieces of rope holding everything together not overly strong as if built by a skilled carpenter but better than nothing. In any event that can use our big family size tent as a canvas covering the wagon... it would at least help keep some of the rain off us and maybe even allow us to keep on traveling... if the road is good, even as the storm rages unless we end up getting stuck in the mud or something."
OOC: Up to you guys, Briar is just trying to be helpful and offer suggestions, so either of those options works for her equally... or another option that someone else comes up with...
“You guys didn’t hesitate when reminding me that there was no mention of time-sensitiveness regarding this task before. So, I say we stop and wait. Traveling under this rain is a recipe to getting stuck in the mud and ambushed by bandits.”
Briar nods in agreement with the Elf and looks at the other two, "if you both are in agreement then we all should keep a sharp eye outPerception13 for a suitable spot or place to shelter and hunker down."
OOC:@Woogles so I am guessing the consensus is we kind of keep moving forward... traveling along with eyes peeled searching for something like an inn, shrine, hunting lodge, etc. or whatever along the lines that I mentioned previously, anything suitable, any port in the storm even if it is just a spot to camp again... hopefully, with all of us lookingPerception someone will catch sight of something good. ;)
About another hour of travel through the downpour. You’re waterlogged soaking wet. The path is turning into mud making it difficult for you to walk easily, but not enough to become a true hazard. Though visibility is low Ragnir spots a overhanging cliff of a decent sized hill. It looks to be the best spot. Making your way up the donkeys and horses neigh and haw bringing the wagon up. But once underneath you see a fairly large dry area, a the opening under the rock continues into cave opens up to be about 40 ( by 30 feet) feet deep before more rock wall seals it off.
Covered in muck, soaked to the bone and freezing; a collective sigh of relief falls upon the group.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Briar totally soaked to the bone is none too pleased and quickly heads towards the cave locating some stones, two should do the trick. She will castLight on them to arrange them inside the small cave to provide sufficient light for an hour to get themselves settled and things arranged. Once there is better illumination Briar will Investigation16 the cave a little closer looking for a dry brush or whatever that be used to fuel a small fire as well determine there no small vermin like rats and snakes about as make sure the back of the cave is truly sealed up!
If Briar is able to come up some dry kindling, even dried animal dung of some sort that might burn, then she will seek to build a smokeless fire close to/toward the entrance of the cave itself. If a fire because no fuel is impossible then Briar will have to do without one, sigh.
OOC: If anyone needs to know how a smokeless fire works then you can view this short 4.5-minute video here if desired. If not feel free to ignore.
The beast of burden huddle together as they shake off the water. The two stones emit a low level with torchlight the areas surrounding them (I think you would have to touch one stone then break it in half). Investigating the cave. You find some small stocks and kindling laying around from previous nests and dens that have been long evicted. It’s enough to start a small fire.
(Priton - that’s more of a Prestidigitation field of magic to perform. You’ll have to do it the old fashion way.)
The storm rages on for the rest of the day and night. Not your best night sleep, but ultimately better than the alternative of trudging through the storm.
Priton will go towards the middle of the cave and with a few sticks not being used for the fire and make a small basketlike thing with 2 rations, 5 torches and 10 feet of rope/hempen and then take some ashes from the fire and draw the symbol of Kaliber and organize all the unused scraps of wood next to it for other travelers that pass by and sit next to the fire to dry off

Feeling like a beast burden trying to get a number of things done just feel comfortable, Briar is happy to at least get a fire going using Druidcraftto start it, happy to find suitable fuel wanting a fire to help dry off her clothes and hair... should Druidcraftbe insufficient or prove unsuitable to accomplish such a task. Briar will remove her bodice and frock so they can try and just to keep herself busy and moving around to generate some body heat she will seek to attend to the animals to see they are feed, etc.
OOC Woogles: Since Druidcraft has a similar effect asPrestidigitationto instantly light or snuff out a candle, a torch, or a small campfire. Would either be helpful at all in possibly getting the water out of our clothes then or help to dry them? Just asking for a reference so if not then no problem but if so Briar will want to use it to dry her clothes as best she can with or without magic. As for casting light two stones, just looking for that to be an easy example one tends stone or pebbles lying about just to Light light spell on so nothing easy had she would cast it on small things, even say cut two small pieces/lengths of rope off her 50' rope to cast it on to, etc. and the later useMending to put the two pieces of rope back together again, no waste not, want not!

For the druidcraft and thaumaturgy the small puff of wind could theoretically assist if you are continuously doing it. You got time either way.
