Eilikasys accepts the shield from Ebokk and holds it out appraisingly. It looks rather large in her small hands, but she doesn't appear to struggle with its weight. She turns it this way and that, smiling as she takes in its form. As Erric places the scrolls on the table, she looks at them for a few seconds and then gives the halfling a grateful smile. Turning back to the shield, she lays it in her lap and rubs the arm of one sleeve against the smooth wooden surface, clearing away some of the dust remaining from its years in the Vault. She rubs some more at the symbol, clearly trying to see what it might look like it given a good cleaning. "The symbol of Valkur," she says, eyeing the cloud and three lightning bolts. She leans a little closer and runs a finger along the edge of the symbol. "Very nice. All of this is inlaid wood." She turns the shield over and inspects the back. Drawing it close to her eye again, she hums as she inspects the inner edge. "Runes," she sings happily. She looks at Ebokk. "You've found yourself an enchanted shield," she smiles. "But I imagine you knew that already. Have you had it identified?" When the dwarf says he has not, she pulls a tiny bell from her pocket and rings it. She continues to turn the shield, looking at the runes, and after less than a minute, the half-orc re-enters the room. "Grendel," Eilikasys says, "we have a few things to identify for Master Lockforge, so I could use your help."
Grendel crosses to and kneels down beside the table. As the gnome continues to inspect the runes of the shield, Grendel pulls a pearl and an owl feather from a pocket, places them on the table and picks up the first scroll. Ebokk quickly says that they actually know what three of the scrolls are. The three magic users point out which ones are cure wounds, hunter's mark, and mage armor. Grendel acknowledges that she can also read the mage armor scroll. Looking at the other three, she picks out another immediately, saying it is for the spell grease. She then uses the pearl and owl feather, a quick spoken incantation, and a hand gesture to identify that the last two are entangle and shield of faith.
About that time, Eilikasys says, "Ah," and lowers the shield so she can look at Ebokk and the others. "This is a very interesting enchantment. The shield was clearly enchanted for a sailor. The person wielding this shield will have magical resistance to being struck by lightning. Besides that, the holder will ... " She lifts the shield and squints, turning the shield again as if trying to find something. "Here it is. Well, the way it's written, it indicates their feet will find better purchase on the deck of a ship." She says this last bit with almost a chuckle.
Grendel summarizes the spell scrolls for Eilikasys, then the gnome looks at Ebokk. "Is that everything?"
(OOC: If you are allowing content from Tasha's, then Maldorn should be able to use the Entangle scroll, right?)
Not realizing that Erric had the Hunter's Markspell scroll on him, Maldorn makes a mental note to claim that one as soon as this magical affair is completed. Perhaps even the Entangle one as well.
Ebokk listens intently to what Eilikasys has to say. His eyes widen as she starts to identify the enchantments on the shield. Amazing he says as he looks at the shield himself.
I knew i came to the right person!
He nods as she explains what the scrolls are for Entangle and Shield of Faith. He looks to the others Do we want to sell the pearls?
As they reply Ebokk will pull out his notebook of the vault and hand it to Eilikasys. Everything i know about the vault is written in this little book. I will be honest with you, the vault has been destroyed after our last visit. But to the right collector it might still be worth something.
Jambiya jumps up and goes to her pack, “Oh, and we’ve these!” She brings out the broken pieces of stone and lays them on the table, a little haphazardly, but in some attempt to arrange them. “I don’t know if they mean anything, or tell a story, but they seemed interesting.”

OOC: If you say so, Lerus. When I search for the entangle spell on D&D Beyond, it only lists druid, but it may not have been updated since Tasha's came out. I see now that Tasha's adds it as a 1st level spell, so, yes, Maldorn could have identified it.
"Oh, I just thought it would be helpful to know how much they are worth. We can always decide not to sell,"Erric says to the ranger.
(Maldorn can use Hunter's Mark and Entangle. Erric and Maldorn can use Cure Wounds I think. None of us can use Mage Armor, Grease, or Shield of Faith, so it seems they're more useful to us turned into money, right?)
After Jambiya places all of the pieces of stone on the table, Eilikasys leans over them and begins to inspect them. When Jambiya reaches out to arrange them further, she's surprised when the gnome smacks the back of her hand sharply. The little goblin girl retracts her hand and looks aghast into Eilikasys's face. The she-gnome gives her a little smile, looking more girlish than apologetic. She clears her throat and looks down again. "Did you say something about pearls?" she asks, doing a little rearranging of stone fragments herself.
Jambiya snatches her hand back with a small cry, her face shocked. Then her features slide into angry, complete with a gnashing of sharp teeth, then bewildered as Eilikasys gives her that impish (?) smile. In the end, Jambiya just takes a step back from the table, still holding her hand. Her face is now weirdly blank, as something works in the background.

“Why did you slap her? That’s not nice. Those aren’t yours, and if they are fragile or dangerous then you should explain. Or we could go.”Erric blinks at the effort of talking, then looks to Ebokk to explain about the pearls if he wants to answer her question.
“It… it didn’t hurt, Erric,” Jambiya says. “It’s, it was rude, but it’s fine. If she wants to look at them, she can.” Still, Jambiya moves a little closer to Erric.

Eilikasys slowly looks up at Erric, her face rather inscrutable. "It seems I've hurt your friends' feelings," the gnome says, still eyeing the halfling. Her lip slowly curls before she swivels her head toward Ebokk. "Perhaps they should wait outside."
Ebokk:
You've seen this kind of behavior from Eilikasys before. You're not sure if it's a power play or if she's just mean sometimes. What you do know is that she's good at what she does, she's been very helpful to you and your mother, and that, as far as you know, she gets her way. What are you doing to do?
Jambiya takes a step forward at this, glancing between Erric and Eilikasys, hands balled up at her sides, a growl on her lips. angry sparkles start popping off of her unconsciously and any plants in the room start to flower. “I’m surprised you can tell! You’re so lofty and above it all with your inscrutable mothering of anyone and everyone, like everyone around you is a child! I’ll have you know that just because you don’t have any feelings doesn’t mean you can just hurt Erric’s feelings willy nilly! He’s a decent man who doesn’t deserve what you did… um, whatever that was!”
She stomps up to the table, fixing the gnome with a glare. “Maybe we can just keep this strictly business, do you think?!”
But Jambiya does have mommy issues, so she doesn’t go so far as to touch the stone fragments. :)
Jambiya is watching Erric, and keying off of him.

Erric would quietly add that the scrolls they can’t immediately use could be for sale, if the price was right…
Maldorn asks Erric: "Which scroll would those be, exactly, my dear Erric? I just want to make sure we are all on the same page, if you don't mind."
Jambiya starts arranging the stone fragments. This is really the first time she’s gotten them out to really look at them.

If it was awkward before, it is super awkward now. Maldorn does not have the necessary social skills. He remains quiet, probably sweating a bit.
Well, then. :)
