Ebokk, someone had homebrewed the shield, so that's cool. I added it to your inventory. One thing that isn't showing up right is that it gives advantage to every skill check when you have it equipped. That's incorrect. The resistance to lightning it adds is correct, but the only advantage it gives is to all acrobatics checks while on board a ship.
(thx, very cool shield)
Ebokk nods to Erric, I would like to help too. We still have some business in town but im sure there is something we can do.
Thinking about the scrolls Ebokk shrugs, If we cannot use them we will have to sell them somewhere.Ebokk looks to Maldorn with admiration of his smart business choices, reminding him of mother. Something Ebokk himself was never to proficient at.
Grendel looks at Erric and then Ebokk, her eyes showing both disbelief and gratitude. "That would be so nice of you. Eilikasys paid a messenger to deliver a message a few weeks ago, but they never returned, so we don't know if the message was delivered or not. Either way, we haven't heard anything ... Are you sure you have time? It would be wonderful if you could check on him." She pauses to smile, then continues. "Largo and his sons have a mortuary located in Keeper's Square, which is right beside Neverdeath Main Graveyard."
Jambiya:
Keeper's Square! That was the name of the place Dirk had said to stop by.
OOC: "Maldorn approves." LOL. Lerus, your post reminded me of Baldur's Gate III when one of the companions agrees with my (the player's) roleplay decision.

Ebokk looks to the group to see their reactions We have business nearby so we should be able to take a look. Largo is the one missing or his sons as well?
Perhaps you could tell us what they look like and we could check out the mortuary
Ebokk gathers his things and while he waits for the others but will empty his drink first since he does not want to give anyone the idea the drink is not good. To not offend anyone ofcourse.
Grendel gives a fairly non-specific description of Largo and his sons, who are rock gnomes. She explains that Largo is really the one who Eilikasys was trying to contact, but they assumed if the sons were OK and received the message, they would have responded. "If you can make contact with any of the Piffernackles, that would be a step in the right direction."
Maldorn lets the lets Ebokk and Eric finalize the agreement on behalf of the group. Then, when appropriate, he'll ask the gentlewoman for directions to the Shining Knight.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(Erric nods and is ready to go.)
As he is waiting, he looks for any small shiny object that interests him, on a shelf or table or something, and looks to surreptitiously replace it with a useless piece of quartz he got in the rubble of the tomb.
Perception: 8 Sleight of hand: 8 using luck to reroll 9
Feeling an itch in your palm, you decide to quickly swipe something, but you're afraid of getting caught by Grendel, so you pretty much swipe the shiniest thing near you. You don't even really look at it until you're outside. Once outside, you take it out of your pocket and look at it. It's a small ornamented box (small enough to fit in even your hand) made of a gold metal with a hinged lid. Opening it, you find a small piece of folded paper inside. You unfold the paper. Written on the paper is "fish eggs" in Common.
OOC: This habit was something Erric had early on in this adventure, and it seemed like an appropriate time for it to manifest again!
Erric follows the group to Maldorn's destination and, once there, during down times while others are shopping, he will examine the paper for anything hidden, such as invisible ink. If it seems a mundane piece of paper, he'll begin to compose a sonnet about fish eggs. "Legs, begs, kegs... anything else rhyme with eggs?"

Erric nods with a shrug at Maldorn’s suggestion. He’s the opposite of savvy in these scenarios…

I know! So exciting! I kept the note of her remembrance and made the "key squire" connection, too!
Jambiya perks up at the mention of the graveyard. That's not weird at all. :)

Maldorn nods back at Ebokk and Erric, both in thanks and in accordance with their desire to help.

Erric nods, and agrees to check things out, since Jambiya seems excited. He asks if there's an inn they'd recommend to stay the night.

OOC: Is the plan to still go shopping before jumping into this investigation?
(Feel free to shop! Erric doesn't have much in his wallet, but he'd tag along to see if there's anything interesting to buy.)
(I'm cool with shopping.)

Alright, we will see if we can find Largo or his sons at the mortuary.
Ebokk gets ready to leave and looks to the others to see if they are ready also.
Hopefully Eilikasys wont be as worried knowing we will help find her friend.
With that he departs. (we can go shopping first for those wanting to buy things)
