Jambiya runs up the wall to the ceiling, but backs up behind the bigs. “Um, it could be Raman, he has a sword and shield like his statue back at the arch, though I don’t think they were as... wicked looking. But I don’t know what to do with that idea.” She shrugs, which looks weird with her upside down.

Would Erric be able to use phantasmal force to make the suit of armor, should it be able to fail a saving throw, believe that a pit had just opened up below it, causing it to fall endlessly?
"I could try fooling it with magic, though I'm not sure it'll work. It's not attacking us, which is nice, but do we really think it's going to be friendly and talk to us like the beholders? Since it's not instamagating things, we could just start hitting it from far away and keep our distance backing down the hall if it tries to charge us. That might be a bad idea, but, well, it's scary and I don't want it up close."Erric says, scratching his ear.
Maldorn stops moving and readies an arrow. "Maybe that is why the armor in the statues were so featureless. So that we can't easily recognize who is the owner of the set in front of us. Although, this wouldn't explain why all the other statues, like the hag, also had less details in their attire. Regardless, the lack of details in the statues' outfits and the existence of so many sets of armors in these halls might be connected."
Erric, I would argue that creating an endless pit is not something the spell could do. If you're wanting to incapacitate it, you could make it think it's been bound or has a box on its head or something similar.
Despite all of the moving around and talking and even talking to it, the suit of armor stands still and does not react.
OOC: Going by the OOC conversation, it sounds like we are leaning towards attacking this thing. If not, feel free to stop Maldorn.
Maldorn whispers to his companions: "I feel like we'll have to carve our way through this one. I am about to release the first shot. Speak now or the arrow flies."
If no one interrupts him, Maldorn releases the arrow he had already prepared (in spoiler):
Erric says, "yes, unless there's a better idea! Jambiya can hit things from very far away, so why don't Maldorn and she go farthest back, and then me, and Ebokk, do you want to play rearguard?"
He'll ready himself to cast vicious mockery on the armor as soon as the arrow looses for 1 psychic damage (etc etc) from 60 feet away, and then run down the hallway.
Seeing the others attack the armor from afar and then moving back Ebokk will attempt the same, he moves back with the others making sure he is still the closest to the creature.
Ebokk grips his handaxe firmly and prepares to throw it if the creature comes close enough. Untill then he will watch how it responds to the ranged attacks.
Movement: Moving back with the others as far as long as he is closest to the creature Action: Ready handaxe throw if the creature comes within 20ft. Attack: 5 Damage: 4
I hadn't mentioned Maldorn moving after the shot, but if the others are doing it, so would he. That is, shoot while the armor is blocking the way and then move back 30ft.
Jambiya, your post says you understood that the armor is 70' away. That is further than 60'. I guess Erric did say he would attack from 60', so he wasn't further away than 60' before he attacked. OK, I'm a little fuzzy on where everyone is, so we're going to create a map for the point at which Maldorn, Erric and Jambiya attack, and Ebokk is defending and preparing to attack if the armor moves toward them.
Jambiya says she's 70' away. Erric says he's 60' away. I'll put Ebokk five feet closer to the armor than the nearest player. Where is Maldorn? Equal to Erric? In front of Erric?
(I just sort of imagined we'd we at the outer boundaries of our ranged weapons' limits, and then we'd all move away. Kiting, right? Ebokk playing rearguard, and hopefully, if the armor catches him, the attack's at disadvantage from Erric's insults?)
Maldorn fires an arrow (Attack: 18 Damage: 6) ... does he move as well?
Erric viciously mocks (DC14 WIS save: 10) ... how far does he move?
Jambiya shoots an eldritch blast (10 to hit, for 9 magical force damage) and moves back 30'
Ebokk has a handaxe ready to throw if the creature comes within 20ft. (Attack: 5 Damage: 4), and he moves as far as Erric or Maldorn, whoever moves the least

After a quick conversation, the party decides to act. Maldorn beings by loosing an arrow at the armor. The arrow, though aimed well, bounces off the armor harmlessly. Maldorn begins moving back 25 feet. Erric, interpreting Maldorn's arrow as his cue to attack, unleashes an insult laced with magic. Though the armor does not flinch (that he can see), he feels the magic take effect. (-5 dmg) As the halfling begins moving back 20 feet, the suit of armor begins moving 30 feet toward the party. Jambiya, hanging from the ceiling, fires a blast of green-white energy at the armor, but wasn't expecting it to begin moving, and so her eldritch blast misses. She begins moving back 30 feet. Holding his axe at the ready to throw if the armor gets too close, Ebokk moves back 20 feet to remain right in front of Erric.
Round 2: baddies, goodies
The armor continues moving forward another 30 feet. As soon as Ebokk feels the armor is within 20 feet, he chucks his axe at it. (Fumble roll: 14322 — Pulled Muscle (Arms). Roll a Constitution Saving Throw DC15 — rolled a 7 — or the strain of your attack causes you to pull a muscle in your upper body. You have disadvantage in attack rolls and ability checks requiring upper body strength until you have completed three long rests, or received magical healing.) As Ebokk releases the axe, he feels something in his shoulder tear. He grunts in pain as the weapon flies wide, missing its target. The dwarf immediately grabs his shoulder with his other hand against the pain.
Two hammers lift off of their mounts on the walls near where the armor had been standing and float 50 feet down the hallway toward the party.
I slid everyone to the right after moving on the grid so that I didn't run out of columns.

Ebokk will quickly rush to the front of the group again but will not walk towards the creature.
He will take out a handaxe getting ready to throw it if the creature moves towards them. He will call out Raman? Is that you?
