Jambiya smiles, then frowns, then just looks uncomfortable, but she was brought up well, so she steps forward again. She continues in Dwarvish. “Oh, um, no, I’m part goblin… and part, well, something else, we don’t, I mean, I don’t know who my mother was. But I was raised by, well, one of my fathers is a dwarf, so, he taught me the language. Um, yeah.”
She seems to settle a little, remembering who she is. “I’ve never met anyone like me,” she says.
Erric, you've noticed a few townsfolk enter the store since you started. Many look as though they have never entered the Shining Knight before. They all watch you as they approach the counter, then begin shopping. One young human girl with short brown hair implored her mother to let her stay to watch you play while her mother browsed, and she is sitting on the floor about five feet away from you, idly fingering a short stick she brought in while watching you with rapt attention. The other individuals of note were two armor-clad elves of indeterminate sex who you suspect are adventurers, bodyguards or hunters of some kind. They watched you for a very short time before also beginning to browse together. You aren't sure how busy the armory usually is, but there is a nice hum of low voices buzzing now, and much more activity than there was when you first entered.
Maldorn, thanks for the reminder that I'd forgotten what your old armor was. Yes, scale mail will net you 25 gold in trade.
Sounding slightly disappointed, Yandeal replies to Maldorn's question with, "No, these are all standard cloaks," the dwarf says, lifting and inspecting the cloaks. "Good for protecting oneself from the elements. Oh, wait," he says, moving two cloaks over and pulling a third down. He gives it a smart shake, flapping the end, then does a little maneuver to swing the cloak around and settle it on his shoulders. After buttoning the neck beneath the remains of his beard, Yandeal holds out his arms as if presenting the item from the front. "As you can see here, it is a fairly ordinary looking brown cloak." He lifts one hand and snaps his fingers. Almost instantaneous, the cloak changes appearance and is now green silk. He snaps his fingers again, and it becomes a cloak of woven blue feathers. He snaps his fingers a third time, and it becomes an imposing and heavy-looking black leather cloak. "It can look however you want. Color and material are only limited by your imagination." He turns, and as he does, the cloak becomes a shiny deep blue. Yandeal stops so that Maldorn can see the back, which has a very intricate design containing geometric shapes of various colors. The dwarf looks over his shoulder down at the symbol. "I think the Blackstaff had a cloak like this once." Maldorn is still looking at the design as it and the blue fade away, reverting back to brown wool. The dwarf turns around, now holding the cloak in his hands. "What do you think?"
The raven-haired dwarf's smile drops a little, but then is back in place (and appears genuine) by the time Jambiya has finished speaking. "Wow. Well, I have to say that you are the cutest half-goblin I've ever seen." Ebokk appears and calls out about the dagger, and the dwarf taps her fingers on the counter toward Jambiya. "It was very nice to meet you. Excuse me, please." She leaves the circular counter and heads toward Ebokk, who shows her the dagger. "You've got a good eye," she compliments him, brushing her long, black hair over her shoulder. She places a hand onto the edge of the glass box as she continues. "This is the Dimension Dagger. Not only is it a beautiful piece of weaponry, it has a particularly interesting enchantment. It allows the user to stab a distant quarry without getting close through the use of a tiny dimensional doorway. You say the command word, thrust the dagger through the doorway, stab the target yards away, and the doorway disappears as you retract your arm and the dagger — all without having to get close. And you haven't thrown your weapon away, either, to reach someone further away than your hammer can reach."
Erric is happy to be in his element again, smiling and winking at people as they watch him play.
He does cast his eyes over at the cloak that Maldorn is looking at, smiling, and shrugging. His next song will be the catchy song he wrote about the group's first adventure, wherein Maldorn's nickname of Big Spoon first appeared. He'll add in a line about how fashionable the ranger really is.
Perception to see if he hears the explanation of the very interesting dagger: 16
Jambiya blushes a little (a darker green!) at the compliment, but just nods as the dwarf is called away, but when she sees it is Ebokk she is going to, she follows to marvel at the dagger.
Maldorn is mesmerized by the cloak: "What a fantastic trinket. I may be able to pick some foliage patterns or hued stone colors depending on the battlefield. I can only hope you are about to quote a manageable price for such a marvel."Maldorn touches the fabric, wishing this is not the last time he'll be able to do so.
Erric, the store is actually quite large, and Maldorn is on the second floor, so it would be hard for you to see what he was doing right now. You'd also have no way of knowing this (because I never actually wrote it), but he's positioned behind you as you face the door. You can, however, hear some of what the dwarf is telling Ebokk, as they are on the same floor about 30 feet away.
Jambiya (and Ebokk), this is what the dagger looks like:
Maldorn, you know that the Blackstaff is somebody important in Waterdeep, but you don't really know that much about the town, so you're not sure if it's one person or if it's an office or maybe it's a title.
Yandeal smiles at your visible interest in he cloak. "I can see this is going into the right hands," the dwarf entones. "It costs a mere 200 gold."
"I..."Maldorn's shoulders sink. "I cannot afford it." He turns to face the rack and says. "Perhaps just the regular green cloak for me then... How much does it cost?"
Erric continues playing, and eventually uses Enthralling Performance on some wealthy or powerful-looking customers, as well as one of the proprietors (4 total possible).
Ebokk looks at the dagger, Well it is pretty but its a dagger Jambiya. Perhaps you could use it so you dont have to get close to enemies.
It seems to fit Jambiya much better since Ebokk would be close range if thats possible so he would never use it for safety unless nobody could reach the enemy in melee. Others might use it more often.
Ebokk looks at the dwarf, How much would this dagger cost?

Yandeal's smile twists into a look of disappointment. "That's a shame," he says, putting the magical cloak back on the wall. "But this cloak is a fine choice as well," he says, taking the sensible green one in hand. "This cloak costs four silver."
Erric, the feature specifically says that the targets of your enthralling performance have to both listen to and watch you for one minute. The only customer who has watched you for that long is the little girl (and I doubt you want to enthrall her). However, in the spirit of fun (since this isn't a real encounter as of yet), I'm going to roll a die and see how many you could include if you want: 1. If it's 4, I'll do as you said. If it's less than 4, I'll let you decide whether you want to go for the number rolled or save it for later.
In response to Ebokk's question about price, the female dwarf smiles. "The Dimension Dagger is priced at 2500 gold." She eyes Jambiya's dagger and finally asks, "May I see it?"
Maldorn is a little embarrassed by his lack of funds. He'll remain mostly silent for the rest of the interaction. He accepts the 25 gold pieces worth of store credit for his old armor and then gives Yandeal a sum of 20 gold pieces and 4 silver pieces to account for the purchase of a set of regular studded leather armor and a green cloak. He pats his old armor one more time, as to thank it for protecting him for so long, and then briefly thanks the salesman for his assistance: "Thank you, Nodeal."
Maldorn reunites with Erric and enjoys his performance for a bit.
“Huh?” Jambiya blinks. “Oh, sure!” She flips the dagger over, holding it out hilt first. “It doesn’t like orcs, and as far as I can tell, they don’t like it, either.”

"Yandeal," the dwarf corrects Maldorn again, not appearing upset about having to do so. He looks away, grins, and says quietly, "No deal."
The female dwarf takes the dagger from Jambiya and looks it over carefully. Handing it back, she comments, "It's not dwarven made, but it'll do. You say it has an anti-orc enchantment on it?"
"Do you need to have it identified?" the she-dwarf continues.
Erric, the little girl's mother returns to the counter with a few small items. She pays her price and then tells her daughter it's time to go. The little girl acts sad, but does as she's told, and the two leave. Another woman brings a few items to the counter and pays. You think your musical message might be having an effect. More and more people have wandered in to browse. To your surprise, two of the newest arrivals are a silver dragonborn and a human male whom you recognize. The human smiles brightly at you and Maldorn (who is standing nearby). "Tarrhak, look who's here!" The two approach, looking pleased. The human smiles down at Erric. "Wow, you're really good! We heard the music from across the street and decided to stop in to see what ole Vuleg had that was new."
Ebokk and Jambiya, as you are standing near the glass-encased dagger, two elves dressed in armor and carrying a few visible weapons walk by. They speak quietly to each other and then move on.
Ebokk only:
Ebokk, it's unusual to hear someone speaking in Undercommon, so it catches your ear when one of the elves says to the other in Undercommon, "Dimension Dagger. That looks interesting." The other agrees, also in Undercommon.
Erric looks up. "Blade, right? I saw you this time! And Tarrhak, hello. I was just passing the time while my companions shopped. What are you up to? Did you have an amazing adventure with the gnoll corpses?"

Ebokks ears perk as he hears the elves speak undercommon. Looking at them a moment as they pass.
Ill keep browsing, that dagger is to expensive for me he says and walks away from Jambiya and the female dwarf. Ebokk will walk around the shop browing but try to keep within earshot of the elves to see what more they might have to say or do. With the noise of all the people in the store its difficult to tell.
