The mayor dabs at his forehead and chuckles uncomfortably, “So, you’ve talked to Corkie ‘eh? Well... the goblins took up residence in the Sunless Citadel ages ago. They used to harass people on the old road, but the road has fallen into disrepair and the goblins haven’t really been a problem since. In fact we trade with them once a year at the midsummer festival. They bring us an apple — with special properties — and we give them some gold. The trade has been tense, but not violent. Sometimes the goblins offer a different apple at midwinter, but this apple is corpse-white and poisonous, even to the touch..so, we certainly don’t purchase that one. No.. I don't think our real problem is with the goblins... I mean it could be Felosial seems to think so — but, she is half elven after all and hating goblins is in her blood.”
The mayor pauses and dabs his forehead and seems to get lost in thought for a second before starting again, “As your friend mentioned the elections are right around the corner at the midsummer festival. Folks aren’t likely to vote for me if they’re afraid to come out to the festival. See.. I have been trying to keep this tight to the chest, but rumors spread like wildfire here... the cattle herders don’t graze their stock too far afield these days. They’re frightened by stories of new monsters that maraud by night. From time to time, cattle and people who have gone out alone have been found dead the next day, bearing dozens of needle-like wounds. No one has seen the creatures that cause this mayhem, nor do they leave a discernible trail. I’ve tasked Felosial with rooting out whatever it is doing this, but her town guard is largely untrained and have yet to turn up anything useful. If you can figure out what’s going on and put a stop to this business I’ll gladly pay 200 gold. Of course, I’ll need proof that it has been taken care of mind you.”
Me and Alten here have assembled a group of people we are going to the Sunless Citadel and we will deal with this Goblin Problem.. as far as for the farmers in the fields and what is killing there livestock do you have any more info? or should we go talk with Felosial?
The mayor responds with a haughty air, ”You are welcome to speak with Felosial over at the Oakhurst jail, but she should tell you just the same as I have done as she provides me with the official intelligence reports around here.”
Alten to the Mayor
Of course, sir. We just want to cover all the bases. In fact, in the spirit of covering all the bases could you perhaps point me in the direction of one or two of the cattlemen or farmer who have lost stock recently?
Grom will turn and leave and once outside of the house he will cast message in the direction of Talien and asks him to meet me by the jail
Talien, while waiting for the reply from the blacksmith, looks around the shop and sends a message back (not knowing that he does so as it is what he thinks in his mind). What is this? How can this be? These words are resonating inside me. But from what or who? Come to the jail...I saw it on the map in the inn. I will go when i finish talking with the blacksmith. But I wonder how to let them know. Well, this should not take more than a minute to finish up. I have a dagger to start making and a new sword to start planning after that. The reply message ends when Talien focuses fully back on the Dwarf as he begins to speak. (Unbeknown to Talien, he just sends whatever he is thinking about as he has never experianced this before(also if you dont let me know exactly what you say, I just assume as a person what you said, and you did not tell Talien your name))
After getting that.. (Possibly the best responseever lol) Talien, this is Grom i can talk to you from inside our minds.... Can you meet me by the Jail we have a lead on something that has been killing farmers animals! i need you to help me hunt this thing it only comes out at night
Chatra walks up to the bar and waits for garon to notice him. When he approaches Chatra queitly ask him.
so everyone loves to drink , yeh? I bet yo know about all the people in this town. Anything I should know about me.carisle and is there by chance a place in town where someone could purchase questionable services or things?
Rurik strokes his beard and thinks to himself before replying, “Well.. I do have an order for 10 Spikes, Iron (10) due in a few days. You should be able to knock those out with no trouble... but, I don’t feel right you working for free. If you complete this order in full then you can have that dagger I’m holding for you back for free.”
At the Village Hall...
As Grom exits the hall the mayor pulls a pocket watch out of his waistcoat and looks down at it impatiently, “You might find some of the cattlemen at the Ol’ Boar this time of day. I really must be going now. Do let me know as soon as you’ve made progress. Good luck to you and your party.” With that the mayor returns to his office and promptly closes the door leaving his servant to let you out.
At the Ol’ Boar Inn...
Garon blankly stares at Chatra for a minute before replying, “Um.. well.. yes, most people enjoy a drink from time to time I believe. But, as I have told your friends.. Carlisle is a new patron. I have only just met him and known as much as about him as you. As for questionable services — I uh.. I’m not quite sure what you are referring to.”
At the Oakhurst town jail...
Next to the village hall is a stout building where miscreants serve their sentences. It also serves as the barracks for the town guard. You knock on the front door and are greeted by Felosial herself who looks you up and down with a keen eye before asking in an even tone, “Yes, how may I help you?”

I heard from the mayor the farmers are having trouble with something killing kattle and other things. He said u might need some help dealing with it, as your town's guard is rather greem.

“Oh did you now?” Felosial replies with indignation. “I’m not sure why he would assume I need help, but if you think you can do a better job than my guard then you’re welcome to try. The last animal that was found was from a farm on the outskirts of town along the old road. It was riddled with small round puncture wounds. At least three more animals and a poor farmer were found dead the same way the past few weeks. There’s not much else I can tell you now.”
Talien tells Rurik I will start now on making these 10 (tool tip not found) for you. My...business partner just mind talked with me... I don't know how he does this. He just let me know and there is some creature to kill outside of town tonight so I must start these immediately. Do you know of the creature killing farmers animals? Talien turns away from the blacksmith as he responds and starts to make the 10 items requested in a quick fashion, but not sacrificing any quality, His eyes turn white as he begins his work. As he starts his first item, he replies back to Grom. Grom. GROM. GROOMMM!!!! CAN YOU HEAR ME? IF THERE IS NOTHING TO FIGHT UNTIL NIGHT, I WILL MEET YOU IN THE LOCATION YOU WISH TO MEET AT DUSK, MESSAGE ME THE LOCATION TO MEET WHEN YOU ARE READY OR YOU FIND OUT THE HUNTING GROUNDS!! DID YOU GET THAT?! I don't know how he even hears me...I am not even talking...Magic spells...they are so different. All I know is War and work, and preparing for war of course, nothing about magic, except the magic weapons of my land. There does not seem to be many here in this land though. I must complete these quickly and efficiently so I can make War tonight. Its is time to focus.....(message fades) He gets a rhythm going on the items he is making and becomes faster and faster at each one as he does not tire from physical labor. He finishes forging the items and wipes them all down methodically and displays them neatly on the table. He grabs his dagger and his eyes turn purple for a brief moment as he looks at his dagger and also the work he has created for the dwarf before turning back to blue again. He walks out of the workshop just as the sun is setting, and heads over to the location Grom informs him of.

We don't want to step on your toes ma'am. I appologize if the mayor has put us in the middle of something[trying to appease her] We are just looking for any information that might be helpful before we mount our expidetion to the Sunless Citadel in the morning. How long ago was the last attack and does there seem to be any pattern? Is there any indication that it might be related to the goblins in there?

Chatra leaves the tavern and starts wondering around the small village. He is looking around for to see what is in this village and also casually looking for any members of his new party. As the tiny halfling is walking around he tries to keep a low profile.
(do I spot any party members or interesting people or buildings?)
Felosial visibly relaxes, “I am sorry. I shouldn’t blame you for the way things work around here, nor for how the mayor treats me. I am still unused to small town life where gossip is taken as gospel. I had thought out here nobleman wouldn’t abuse their station either, but I suppose I should have known better. In a hushed whisper, “I mean what town trades with goblins? There must be more to this.. but, the mayor.. he forbids any of my men from going near the citadel.. so, how am I supposed to properly investigate this?”
Well nid-fy-nghyfnither it is a good thing we're not any of your men. If Torm favors us, I shall let you know what we find upon our return, if it be relevant to your problem. Thank you for your time.
Unless she has anything else, I take my leave and head back to the inn.

I do not sleep as it seems everyone else does that I have encountered before, but I do have to remain immobile for 6 hours, and I can hear and see everything around me during this time. I can take action if needed, however I still must complete the remainder of my rest soon after that.

Sorry I missed this before.
Chatra leaves the Ol’ Boar and wanders around Oakhurst for a bit. The buildings are primarily timber framed and whitewashed with the exception of the town hall which also has brick adorning it. The streets are relatively quite as folks seem to be mostly running errands, or preparing for the upcoming midsummer festival. The shops begin closing up as the day is drawing to a close, so Chatra heads back to the Ol’ Boar and the rest of the party. He spots Alten leaving the jail along the way.
