Grom see's Talien walking towards him and he greets him: Talien my good Stone fellow! how has this day treated you! So earlier i thought u said u don't need to sleep right?
I do not sleep as it seems everyone else does that I have encountered before, but I do have to remain immobile for 6 hours, and I can hear and see everything around me during this time. I can take action if needed, however I still must complete the remainder of my rest soon after that.
Were u planning on staying at the INN with us? Do u rest/remain immobile outdoors? How does this work?
Cause I have an idea...
It does not matter were I remain, or under what conditions for the most part...I have rested in the bottom of a pond for 13 hours to avoid a search party one time with my master...but cleaning our weapons and ourselves, he looks down at his shiny metal and stone plating, took days.
I walk over and join him. How goes your preparations? I tell him about the attacks. Perhaps we can see if any of the ranchers or farmers can provide more information this evening at the Inn.

alright so here's my crazy idea you "rest" out here tonight in the field I can law down an alarm, if u hear anything u can trigger my alarm that will wake me up I will get the party and we can stop what ever this thing is that is terrorizing the farmers.

I will rest in the field, and I will trigger the alarm if I hear or see anything...but I assure you, the creature attacking them will be dealt with prior to your arrival. Talien says, as he draws his weapon, he then adds. Show me the place so that I can reach it before dark.

i have been at the tavern all day and found nothing. But maybe your right and tonight the people of the town we’ll be hanging out here. They may be more loose lipped if we catch them off their guard drunk *wink*
Chatra heads back to the tavern along side Alten. As there walking back he ask so did you find out anything useful for us? I didn’t get to look around this village but you were gone for awhile. I’m sure in all that time you met some townsfolk and jus maybe you might have learned something about our destination?
Aside from the attacks, the only interesting thing is that the local priestess would like a magical apple from the Citadel goblins if we can procure one without Goblin knowledge. She's abmitious, that one. Nevertheless, I shall attempt to procure one for her. Oh, nobody seems to know our new boss, so he isn't a local as far as I can tell.

so my distrust in him was Not unwarranted. Hmm, magic apple? I know a bit about magic but not this I think? Did she say anything about the apple besides it being magical? Like why is it referred to as a magic apple? What does it do supposedly?
Chatra nods hmm never heard of this magic apple before but I do know one thing. That’s not typical goblin behavior. Someone or something else must be behind this act, making the goblins do their will.
We last saw our sextet of merry adventurers in the Town of Oakhurst where they met their patron Carlisle Bozak in the Ol' Boar Inn. Carlisle granted our adventurers a mission to recover some sort of arcane artifact from the Sunless Citadel in exchange for two thousand gold and the potential for more jobs should they complete this one successfully. While soliciting the denizens of Oakhurst and acquiring supplies for their venture our would-be hero's managed to acquire a myriad of other quests. Now, they must find Rurik's hammer, acquire an apple from the Gulthias Tree for Corkie, attempt to rescue Talgen and Sharwyn Hucrele, and investigate the mysterious attacks occurring on farms along the old road leading to the citadel. We pick up with our merry band outside of Oakhurst along this very road. Talien and Grom have decided to lay a trap for the "monster" attacking the farmer's cattle and the party is currently discussing how to accomplish this task...
DM Note: As you were eating dinner in the Ol' Boar a farmer who overheard you discussing the "monster" attacking cattle in the area came up to your party and granted you permission to use his field to set up your trap. After a delicious dinner of pork sausages and stewed apples and a long rest you set out from Oakhurst along the old road. Your current position is the second red line south of Oakhurst on the "Local Area Map" in the Public DM Notes.
Task: Discuss how to set up your trap and declare when ready.
Our clever hero's have laid a trap for the "monster" marauding the country side a short distance from Oakhurst. Talien, our warforged juggernaut, lies in wait just off the side of the old road. He is covered in soft earth and ready to spring into action as soon as the need arises. Bait in the form of a pig stands tethered to a stake driven in the ground by Chatra with an accompanying alarm spell cast around it by Grom. The rest of our adventurers wait patiently, concealed behind boulders and camouflage a short distance away. The sky is still dark, but dawn is just beginning to break far off to the east. The pig suddenly lets out a high pitched squeal breaking the near total silence of the early morning, but nothing tickles the fringes of Grom's mind.
5.15am... nothing... 5.30am... still nothing... 5.45am... the darkness begins to soften into a grey light... our cast is mightily bored... 6am...
Something from the fringes of the nearby woods whistles through the air! Whoosh.. another projectile, follow by another and then another... the pig squeals loudly in pain. Blood now trickles down its side as it frantically tries to run away. The stake holds it in place and it whines and squeals all the louder. A dark shape suddenly emerges from the woods, followed by a second, then a third. The dark masses run towards the pig projectiles flying ahead of them. Grom's alarm rings in his head over and over alerting him to the shapes nearing the pig...
DM Note: Based on RebelScum's survival check in the OOC thread (she rolled a 23) I'll say you all get a surprise round, because you are very well hidden.
Talien leaps up off the ground were he is concealed, eyes glowing red in the brisk morning air, he runs directly over toward the pig and what does he see?

It apparently has restorative properites. It seems that the goblins auction one each year to the highest bidder.
