The hand hurries toward Rose and quickly wraps the other end of the rope around her waist and ties it off. "Help me big guy!" Burgee shouts to Paavu as he begins to pull Rose up to where they and out of danger.

Paavu glances back, but only for a brief few seconds before turning back to the opening -- back on the far off dragon. "The 'beast' is gone. It's hold will weaken. Mend.. and make your way down. Drow is there. Be Quick." He then takes a few steps backward, hesitates a second to look off at something to the side, and then following a final shake of the head, raced and leaped over the edge in a bit of a spin. End over end he fell until with practiced eased he landed just a few feet past the debris wall, springing away from the impact point into a roll to reduce the damage.
Ending up back on his feet at the end of the roll, though worse for wear, shrugged off at least some of the damage and approached the pile, or at least any body to be seen around; weapon still in hand and shield arm complaining, yet determined all the same. If he sees what once was a drow half-buried in fallen debris, but not quite dead or unconscious, he moves to at least out of immediate arms reach and asks plainly, "Here were are again. Shall we parlay, or must less savory methods be employed for the answers we seek?"
If found and unconscious, or at least pretending to be well, he nudges them with the business end of his morningstar first to at least confirm it, and then break out the silk rope to the tie them up tight.

The vines begin to vanish before the wall does, allowing Cirrus to move to a more advantageous position before his healing chant rings out. The power of the staff radiating and healing everyone in the area for 19. Gwen springing back to life as the raw healing power pushes most of the poison out of her lungs. Still coughing but now able to move Ouhk Ouhk... We need to get down there quick.. before she... it was at that moment Paavu jumped, when Burgee was asking him for assistance, Gwen watching with both Bewilderment, and horror that the man had just willingly jumped down... You fuouk....ing moron! she says between a cough. Burgee, with rope in magic hand tries to lift Rose up and out of her thorny paradise, but she weighs significantly more than the mage hand can handle, and he only succeeds in shifting her into the thorns slightly, just after Cirrus' healing revives her, dealing a solid 3 damage to Rose's cheek.
Paavu tumbles down to the ground with more grace than he usually had, taking 10 fall damage (after heal already occurred). Gwen starts to get up to rush down, both to heal the dumb-ass Goliath, and to help deal with the drow *****.
Paavu leaves a small crater where he lands, or rather knocks up a lot of dust (DC 10 con save or you begin sneezing as you do anything for the next 30 seconds) And as he approaches the thing, she seems conscious, but.. unable to move. It seems the fall.. paralyzed her. Now, where once stood a cunning looking drown, now lay a malformed creature, with hideous lumps covering its body. Only able to move its eyes to meet Paavu's it says I do not exactly have much choice in this situation. Just kill me, and be done with it.

Paavu patted at his own lower back, working out a few kinks there as spoke, "No. And its not too late for you either, 'if' answer Paavu with honesty. Otherwise, Paavu can and will make situation much worse for you."At that, he whistles sharply, calling Yue around over to his side. "For what is worth, I do deplore such extreme methods. But if that's what it takes to get the job done." Sensing where the inquiry was going, Yue licked her chops and appeared to direct her attention to the extremities.
"Probably taste bad. Probably think you won't feel it. But, I have people on my side capable of fixing that much before your end... or maybe Paavu bleed you and leave you for a pack to find.... We all have choices to make today. For your sake, Paavu hopes you make the right one." He then holstered Grol's morningstar, and loosely folded a hand behind himself. "So answer... You cannot fix anything. Heal my body, mend my wound, try to ally yourself with me, it will make little difference. You underestimate the spider. You have driven the redbrands, yes, but they were no better than common thugs. Useful idiots. The Cragmaw were the same, only dumber. Pieces in a grand game of chess, just like me. All serving our purpose. If I had suceeded at this I would have been granted some modicum of power .. I would have had a place alongside the spider.. as we conquered the lands... So you do not understand where I am right now. No matter what I do, I will die. I refuse to help you, I die by your hands or by being abandoned. I help you, I die at the spiders hands later. You're .. stronger than I anticipated, I truly thought the dragon could deal with you, but it was just a child, after-all.
You wish to know where it all is? or what purpose it serves? I do not know all that. But I'm in a no-win situation either way, so what choice do I have, if you will not just end me. Fine. Heal me. And I will lead you to what you desire. But it is no longer here. You really thought I would just sit here and wait? Enough, I digress. But you will swear by blood you will not betray me, and a pact, we shall enter.

Rose waits patiently for the torns to fade on their own before finally standing to her feet amd brushing off the dirt. Damm dragon got away. Gwen? Is she okay? Rose rushes down stairs search for Gwen before finding her outside with Paavu and the...thing. Thank goodness you're okay. Had me worried for a moment. Looking down at the whatever it was and back up to Paavu she asks What's this thing? Where's the drow?
"Our Drow... or one who had been pretending to be one. The fact that they were speaks volumes about our enemy."Paavu replied to Rose after moment's pause, having still been digesting the ex-drow's words. Then, he addressed the broken being before him once more.
"Paavu has no idea who Redbrand are. But, if you not take Paavu's word -- do not trust him to keep it alone, even though such had been the way of things last time.... then so be it. We have other options. Other choices. But you... You've allowed fear and foolishness to cloud judgement, and seek that which many have done and tried, but no conqueror keeps for long anyways." He shakes his head, and then pulls out his hunting knife. "But you have done as Paavu has asked. So, Paavu will grant a merciful death. Though the nine may yet take you for your ways in life, may these hands of Paavu grant you at least a largely painless end."
Despite knowing the risks and knowing the former drow might spite him with spit to the fast, Paavu kneeled down close and asked, "Do you have final words, or a preferable end? This, Paavu grants." He said, but then turned just enough to peer over his shoulder (though not so much as to lose sight of the injured creature's movements) to the others. "Unless one of you wish to try and convince this one of the folly stubbornness and their ways?

"Stay your weapon oaf," Burgee blurts out as he approaches Paavu and the drow. "Dark one," he says turning toward the fallen drow. Then with great sincerity in his voice he tries to convince her that giving up the maps location is something that she herself should want. "We are not your enemy, but your saviors. Our word you have, as you did the last time we met. True we shall be, but the location of that map we must have for your sake as well as ours." (Persuasion: 12)
Paavu kept from turning fully at the insult, though only just barely so. He still found himself gritting his teeth behind closed lips, and even thinking to send a silent prayer to Hephestus for strength. Because without it, he felt almost certainly tempted to back hand a certain bird.
Fortunately for all, Paavu lets out all the building anger in a long, controlled breathe, and at least sheathes the dagger. But he would continue to keep from looking at Burgee, least it came surging back. "Paavu's word is his bond. But he will not be entering Pacts." He re-affirms, alerting if not reminding Burgee of the creature's preference before rising to his feet. "But if wish to, it will be on their own behalf. Paavu will only swear not to bring about harm to creature, so long as creature does the same."
