"There are people " tries to explain Seethe to Toonary " that help you if you give them money. But they are not friends, they are... workers. We are friends, we care for each other, we help each other. Workers only help. When you don't need their help anymore, they go and find another person that needs their help and pays them..."
Maya would let the others explain to Toonary, smiling when Seethe explains the worker concept. “It’s not a terrible idea to have a pile set aside to gift to them, should they be expecting we recover something, or to show a sign of good faith for us to leave. Though, I believe we only agreed to killing the beast and that may be the only thing expected of us. I’d say we start with our beast proof and go from there.”
Toonary is starting to understand, only a little due to his sheltered life. And he says “so they are not friends, we are work for them. So many types of people, I not know so many type of people in world. At Monastery we just had each other. Toonary had friends and not friends there. Then Mother Rurgrolin show Toonary world, show Toonary friend and not friend. Never maybe friend, or worker. Toonary so confusing.”
Covered in muck, Gridolpho drags Thousand Teeth's severed head over to the rest of the group and drops it with an unceremonious thump.
"I dunno about this carin' and friends shite, but a hot bath and a bacon sandwich would go a long way ta improvin' our relationship right now. Sure as feck I ain't draggin' this thing back to the lizzies on mah own!"
"That's the most work I've seen you do! You deserve that bacon sandwhich." Maya jests, giving him another pat on the head for a job well done. She'd then look to Toonary. "It takes a while to get to know the different kinds of people. Yes there are stereotypes, but the truth is, we're all different. It's up to you to decide what they mean to you. We all value relationships differently." She'd smile.
"I'm sure a pair of us, or one of us could rope something together to haul this skull out of here."
Using some rope you secure the head for transport, and after a short rest make your way back to the lizard folk's lair. After about six hours you are met by a band of lizard folk warriors. They inform you that they are your escort back to the lair. Two of them offer to carry Thousands Teeth's head.
"It's confusing for all of us " says Seethe to Toonary and pats his shoulder.
She helps carrying the head and when the lizards offer to carry it she lend them the rope, and apply to herself a minor healing to heal the blisters the rope had made on her hands.
A guy's walkin' down tha street, see? An' he falls in a hole. It's dark an' cold an' tha walls are too steep fer him ta climb out.
A cleric walks by an' our guy shouts 'Father, help me! I've fallen in this hole an' can't get out!' Tha cleric says 'bless you, my child' an' writes out a prayer an' throws it in tha hole an' moves on.
A politician walks by an' our guy shouts 'Madame Mayor, help me! I've fallen in this hole an' can't get out.' The mayor says 'I'm sorry, citizen. I'll bring it up at tha next council meeting' an' writes out a law an' throws it in tha hole an' moves on.
Then our guy sees his best friend walk by an' he shouts 'Tim! Help me! I've fallen in this hole an' can't get out!' an' without a second thought his friend leaps inta tha hole with him.
'What are you doing, Tim?! Now you're stuck in tha hole with me!'
But Tim turns and says 'Well, yeah. But I've been down here before. I know tha way out. Follow me.'
Granddad always said that when ye are in trouble, an' I mean real deep in the shite, them's that jump in tae help ye without asking? Them's yer friends.
Simple.
An' a course, sometime yer friends just expect ta NOT BE PATTED ON THA FECKIN' HEAD LIKE A FECKIN' CHILD!"
The thief immediately undercuts his touching monologue by turning it into a rant at the end.
The escort guides you back to the lair. The journey is uneventful. However, when you arrive at the entrance to the lizard folk's home you immediately notice that the entrance is heavily guarded with at least a dozen heavily armed lizardmen. Many of them appear to have bandaged wounds.
Minister Ortho appears at the entrance. "Good. You have returned. And successful I see. Come with me, the Queen seeks your counsel." Ortho turns and walks back into the lair as the guards stand aside to let you pass.
Maya would hesitate, considering conjuring druidic magic of her ancestors to heal the guards, but would decide against it in case they misunderstand her magic. She'll lead the way with the others to follow Minister Ortho.
Toonary would ask "some for maybe friends, help make maybe friends friends?"

"Maya Friend, she give you gift, you stop being her friend when she stops giving gifts?"
Toonary is genuinely confused about the idea of not giving friends "gifts".

To Maya Toonary would say "Easier in monistry."
Toonary would hand Gridolpho a few pieces of bacon from his pocket. "No bread, but bacon."
Toonary then goes and trys pick up 1k teeth's head, to just carry it.
Strength check 15.

"What happened? Do you need help?" she ask to one of the wounded guards.
