Fae would flinch a little in surprise hearing Elra’s voice. She’d glance over to see the Cleric writing away. “I’m so sorry Elra! I didn’t even see you.” She’d let out a chuckle out of embarrassment. Elra sat so still and quiet, she missed her.
Ethan enters the inn and goes to pay, but also finds that Zeke has already paid for everyone.
Ethan would give Zeke a nod of appreciation, as the large tiefling heads out to do his perimeter check.
Ethan asks if a simple meal could be brought up to him in his room, and then heads up there himself.
Once inside, Ethan opens his gauntlet and starts getting out all his equipment, starting with his leather work mat.
Once his meal is brought in, he would start eating, while studying the damage to the bag of holding again, going over his notes, that Fae helped him with, to get his head in the right space to start working on it again.
Once he has finished eating, Ethan would resetup the contraption used to attempt the temporary bypass of the damaged part of the bag, but would wait to try more, until Fae came to help.
While waiting Ethan would start working on some of his other projects, tinkering with various materials, combining them and configuring them with magical sigils.
After leaving Horton to feed more by the stream, Tarja would head back to the inn to meet up with her companions. Perhaps it was better to spends some time with them and not just with her animal friends. She asks the innkeeper for a simple meal and sits down in the common room.
Zeke would glance at Fae as she asked about their companions and smile slightly, 'The Master Artificer is already upstairs working, everyone else is accounted for except for our Charltan. I figure I'll give him another hour on his mysterious errand before I set out to make sure nothing untoward has come his way.'
His head on a constant swivel, the tiefling would constantly be on the lookout for any danger or threats, even in the quiet common room of the Inn.
Keeping his voice low, he'd continue talking to Fae 'You were quite the force out there today. I was glad to have you by my side when things went pear-shaped.'
Fae runs into Linene who takes her over to the Lionshield Coster once again. She has quite a selection of inks and other supplies for a wizard, actually. Despite this town being reduced to a very small one based almost entirely on farming and mining, it's history has led the far reaching trade company of the Lionshield to anticipate the arrival of those with more varied interests, eventually, at least. If Gundren has his way at all and the lost mine is rediscovered, that time will have come. Linene comments to Fae "with what you all have done we should be able to open up trade and get more supplies from Neverwinter and Leilon once again." "Wish I could say the same about the road to the East."
Tarja takes Horton to a particularly good spot with lots of grass and other foliage for him to choose from, a place with a particularly nice little swimming hole where the stream is a bit wider and void of many of the rocks that litter it elsewhere. Horton suddenly goes crashing into the stream and lowers his charred belly and side into the cool water. He turns to Tarja and expressed via her magic "FRIEND?" just before reaching his trunk out to pluck a thick cluster of long grass from the steam's banks.
Zeke finds no trouble in his sweep, only the crumbling manor on the hilltop looming over him even more prominently now. He does see the last of the redbrands being ushered by Darren and Sildar into the townmaster's hall, and Harbin Wester talking to the tall, slender Halia Thorton from the Miner's Exchange only a few feet away. As he returns to the Inn he sees Elmar Barthen standing by his store, his hands on his hips, looking approvingly out at the stream where all of the action just happened. The dwarf privately gives a large nod of approval at the evening's events before ducking inside his shop.
Over the next fifteen minutes or so, the Stonehill's start bringing the best of their food and drink out to their guests. Everyone is soon joined by Barthen again, having changed out of his work clothes and leather apron into to something a bit more appropriate for dinner in public. A moment later Sister Garaele and Linene Greywind also enter, followed by Sildar and Darren. All order drinks and a bite of food and talk about the recent developments, often looking over to smile at the party and happily engaging with you if welcomed. Having heard the news even Qelline Alderleaf, her son Carp join in the festivities along with Narth and a few other farmers from just outside of the town proper that Tarja knows.
Lastly the town gathering is joined by the Townmaster Harbin Wester and Halia Thornton, both looking less enthusiastic than the rest of the townsfolk. The Townmaster tucks himself in at the far end of the bar and watches everyone from inside the top of his ale glass, but Halia at least approaches the group. "I hear you have done us a great service tonight. No doubt Phandalin will be a safer place for locals and arriving miners alike, and the Miner's Exchange will benefit. If you might be interested in additional work, I may have a task for you that would server everyone's interests. For now enjoy your evening, and perhaps we can discuss business in the morning." It is clear to all in the party that any attempt at warmth or sincere gratitude on Halia's part is overshadowed by her cool demeanor and business like attitude.
Fae would smile at Elra admiring her focus while she writes. With that, she’d finally take a seat with her meal. The wizard would also toss a small wave to Tarja when she’d return to the Inn to have a meal in the common room.
When Zeke would provide her with a report, she’d return his smile and a nod. “I’ll check on our Artificer shortly. I did promise to assist with his project.”
Fae would eat her meal in good company. Truthfully she was a little torn between taking her time to enjoy it, but also couldn’t bring herself to keep Ethan waiting longer than necessary.
The wizard would be finishing up her meal when Zeke would continue the conversation. Fae could feel warmth in her cheeks, glancing down. It’s a compliment coming from a warrior such as him. She was glad to have him there, every time things went ‘pear-shaped’. Of course her dimpled cheek would give away her shy smile, as she’d busy herself with gathering her dishes. Her violet eyes would finally look his way. “You’d do the same.” She’d say softly. The scholar wanted to stay and chat, but should their protector be done his meal, she’d reach a hand out in his direction and mouth the words ‘May I?’ before she’d accept his dishes to stack them with her own. Fae would stand from her seat, but would pause to give their thiefling another genuine smile. “Thank you.“She’d pause. “For everything.” She’d add quietly before excusing herself from the table.
Fae would collect Elra and Tarja’s plates on her way to the counter should they be done their meals as well. As she delivered the dishes to the Stonehills’, they’d start bringing out even more food and drink for the arrival of more guests. The wizard would stand to the side for a moment as more townsfolk poured into the inn, making sure not to stand in any ones way as they settled in. Spotting Sister Garaele enter with Linene, she caught herself taking a tentative step in her direction. Fae would stop herself, thinking she should allow them to get settled with food and drink before interrupting with business. Come back down later Fae.
Speaking of which, the scholar paused long enough to hear Halia approach the others with something that could be discussed in the morning. And when Halia finished, Fae would archive those thoughts for later. For now, she had some work of her own to do and a busy artificer to keep up with. The scholar will finally tip toe her way up the stairs in search of Ethan’s room. It wouldn’t take long to find with some light flashing and tinkering noises coming from behind the door. Fae would approach the door and gently knock on it. “Ethan? It’s Fae. Sorry to keep you waiting.” She’d pause. “I’m here if you still would like some help.” She’d add before listening to see if he’ll answer.

Friend!Tarja reassures Horton.
Before leaving him at the stream to forage, she'd spend the last two charges of her Song of Sylvanus casting Healing Word on him before heading out. (8, 6).
I'll try to get a room on the first floor - find me if you need anything!
Once back at the inn and eating with the group, she would say hello to Carp and Qelline, Sildar and Darren, Sister Garaele and Linene. She hadn't usually spent too much time in town, but it seemed like it was the time to get to know them a bit better. She would talk to the farmers about the conditions around town, how they've been holding up.
"Fae! Fae! Come in, the most wonderful thing has happened!"
After Fae enters the room, she sees Ethan is almost jumping out of his skin with excitement.
"Fae, my magical reserves, they've subdivided! I have access to more powerful reserves now! So many new things I can try!"
Ethan grabs one of his reference books and holds it up so Fae can see a particular page.
The page is filled with Lantana Technical (an extension of Draconic, with even more artificer specific symbols added) and arcane diagrams.
"See I had forgotten about this..."
Ethan points to a set of sigils in a diagram that looks a little like his Programmable Caster.
"...well not exactly forgotten, I just never had the internal magical capacity to make them work before, and then I was looking through and found them again, and I thought I would see if anything had changed."
Ethan takes a deep breath and continues to barrel through with excitement.
"And it worked!"
Ethan indicates a charged black mark on one of the walls of his room.
"This will enhance the damage of any magical effect I create using my Programmable Caster! And so I though I should check if anything else had changed in my capabilities, so I put together a quick capacity tester..."
Ethan indicates a Jury-rigged contraption on his work mat.
"...and I tested myself and got a nasty zap because I forgot to add the left hand stabiliser sigils, I've really got to stop forgetting them, and so I had to fix it back up and then I tested myself again and its true, I've got 4 of the basic magical reserves now and 2 of the next level higher, 2!"
"I can try all kinds of new designs I've only dreamed of before!"
Ethan's eye glaze over with a look like a child in a candy store, as he thinks of all the things he can now try.
Ethan has quite forgotten that Fae was coming to help him with the unstable bag of holding, that sits patiently on the work mat waiting to be looked at.
A smile would be evident on Fae’s face as she’d enter the room. The artificers excitement was infectious and it didn’t take long for her to get swept up in his energy as he’d bounce around walking her through his process and discovery. As her eyes would pan along, landing on the charge mark on the wall, her eyes would go wide in surprise, though a genuine chuckle would escape her lips. Zeke didn’t hear that? And as he’d continue on without skipping a beat, Fae would follow, crouching down to take a curious closer look at the contraption on the mat. Her eyes would snap in his direction in concern, searching his hands when he’d mention he got a nasty zap. Though her look would soften quickly, as again, the artificer had not skipped a beat over it, as it seemed to come hand in hand with his work. Finally, with one last burst, Ethan would pause to breathe as he’d daydream about the possibilities.
Fae couldn’t help but let out another genuine chuckle after living through the rollercoaster of Ethan’s tinkering. There was never a dull moment to say the least. She could appreciate his thrill in discovering new techniques as she related it to when she’d discover or harness new spells through the manipulation of the weave. There were a few new magics she desired to study and hopefully master by the next morning. She’d offer the artificer a smile, “And? What do you think you’d like to try first?” The scholar knew she was setting him up for more excitable chatter, but it was nice to get out of her own head. Besides, she had already decided what she wanted to study, she was curious what he had in mind for himself.
The wizard would take a moment to pad the room spotting the caged bag of holding on a separate work mat. She’d look it over. Before she’d ask about it though, her eyes would scan the area to look for his dinner plate, seeing if he’s taken the time to fuel himself during his studies. “You know, you’re welcomed to join all of us to enjoy your meal with company.” Should his meal be sitting there uneaten, she’d grab the plate and present it to Ethan to have him eat before she’d allow him to work further. “Do you prefer to eat alone?” Fae would tilt her head slightly. If he had finished his meal, she’d make note to bring the dishes down with her when she goes.
"Oh, um, well there was this device that turn powdered ruby into a melted paste, that you then apply to a surface, and then when it cools and hardens to bursts into flame and never goes out again."
"There is also this idea I had based on the sigil patterns used to create my gauntlets compressed storage. I was thinking I could make a temporary fold in space to hide away in, but a few of the sigil patterns needed a minimum magical power level before they would work, so I didn't really pursue the idea much more at the time."
When Faenotices Ethanhalf eaten meal and makes her comment about eating together with the others, Ethanstops talking and goes a little read in the face.
"Oh, I'm sorry! I forget that's what you're supposed to do, right, people normally eat together? I'm really sorry, the others aren't mad are they?"
"I'm so used to just eating while I work. But one of the professors did take me aside before I left and told me that's not the normal thing to do and that I should make an effort to be sociable. I hope you don't think less of me, I do like everyone, I just forgot...sorry."
As the artificer would explain his ideas, Fae would challenge herself to try to match them up with any spells she might be familiar with to try to draw a parallel.
Fae would put up a hand as if to try to stop Ethan in his tracks before he got too ahead of himself. “Ethan,” She’d say softly. The wizard had no intentions of reprimanding him and didn’t anticipate stressing the artificer with her question. Maybe she should have chose her words better. “No, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to cause you concern.” Her eyes would soften further, ”No one is upset with you.” She’d be sure to affirm that point clearly, “I just noticed you didn’t join us and I wondered if that was a deliberate choice. My intended point was to make sure you knew you were welcomed to join us, if you wanted.” The scholar would pause, “Yes, it’s common for most to gather together to socialize around a meal. It can be a way of bonding.” She’d answer his first question, “But sometimes it’s not for everyone, or it takes time to get used to it.” Fae would sympathize with the tinkerer’s habit of eating while he works. “It’s okay if it’s not something that comes natural to you.” She’d offer a reassuring smile. “Want me to remind you next time?”
And with that, Fae would try to pick up his spirits by shifting to what he knows best, tinkering. She’d gesture towards the caged bag of holding with a smile, “Shall we get to work?”

Ethanlooks hopefully at Faewhen she suggests reminding him next time he forgets.
"Would you? That would be really great."
Ethanlooks at the bag waiting to be worked on, and remembers what they were going to be working on.
"Oh right, yeah, lets see if we can get this thing stabilised."
Ethanopens his notes and designs book to the part where he has notes from their last attempt and goes over it all with Faeso they are both familiar and ready to try again.
Ethantalks with Faeand they work through the damaged sigils and glyphs, trying to workout what is missing and how they can make a temporary workaround.
Getting all the information from their previous attempts and new ideas together, Ethanworks out a sequence for their next attempt.
Ethanonce again scribes the sequence of sigils around the structure holding the bag, and then connects each end with thread to the sequence on the bag, bypassing the damaged section.
Ethanstands back and waits to see if the sequence will work this time.

Elra finishes her letter and gives it to Vincent, taking him to the front door and letting him fly off to the House of Knowledge after a quick hug and a bite to eat. She laughs a little when 'Maxie' arrives. She sits back down, and when he arrives at her table she laughs some more, "Well, bonjour to you as well monsieur," she says to him. "Are you doing well?" Silently, under her breath she whispers to him, and in Arvel's mind he hears, "Did you find what you were looking for?"
Arvel leads Elrato whatever passes for a space to dance and takes her hand and places his around her waist, leaving them close enough to chat.
"It's not so much that I didn't find who I was looking for, it's more that the person I thought would be looking for me didn't show. Does that make sense? Regardless, I was wondering if I could pick your brain about something related to Vincent and Krikket."
Elra raises her hand, still writing, "Here!"

Ethan looks hopefully at Fae when she suggests reminding him next time he forgets.
"Would you? That would be really great."
Ethan looks at the bag waiting to be worked on, and remembers what they were going to be working on.
"Oh right, yeah, lets see if we can get this thing stabilised."
Ethan opens his notes and designs book to the part where he has notes from their last attempt and goes over it all with Fae so they are both familiar and ready to try again.
Ethan talks with Fae and they work through the damaged sigils and glyphs, trying to workout what is missing and how they can make a temporary workaround.
Getting all the information from their previous attempts and new ideas together, Ethan works out a sequence for their next attempt.
Ethan once again scribes the sequence of sigils around the structure holding the bag, and then connects each end with thread to the sequence on the bag, bypassing the damaged section.
Ethan stands back and waits to see if the sequence will work this time.

"Bon! Zis way mademoiselle..."
Arvel leads Elra to whatever passes for a space to dance and takes her hand and places his around her waist, leaving them close enough to chat.
"It's not so much that I didn't find who I was looking for, it's more that the person I thought would be looking for me didn't show. Does that make sense? Regardless, I was wondering if I could pick your brain about something related to Vincent and Krikket."

"Gods aren't like you an I Arvel," Elra says, "they don't always appear when you think they should. And ya, what about Vincent and Krikket?"
