Tomoe grins Yes, I cannot wait. We will pick out something sexy, but not enough to make her too nervous. With a little luck, she will see how attractive she really can be.

Stepping out of the bar, Tomoe notices lots of wanted posters all around. ((Technically, the posters were already there when Tomoe was going to the bar but I, the DM, forgot to mention them)) The show police sketches matching the description of the people that Mercy that Tomoe gave the guard. Of course, the pictures look uncanny and not quite like the people Tomoe saw but that's just how police sketches are. You can only make drawings so accurate when all you have is a description to go off of. Lucia comments, "Seraph's been busy I see."

The pair head down the streets of Brass City. By now the sun has completely set and it is night. The light orange hue of the street lights and the lights from the houses and shops illuminate the street. Lucia leans a bit into Tomoe and says softly, "It's nice to walk down the streets with just the two of us." 

Tomoe gently holds Lucia's had, entwining their fingers togather. We do not get alot of quiet time do we? 

"We really don't. We're usually always with Kate and Mystery. Hey!" Lucia says, wanting to make this trip through town with just the two of them last longer, "While we're out here, why don't we get the circlet identified at House Serpent. We also need to give the Demon Water to a church to dispose off. Wouldn't want it leaking and contaminating our things right?"

Tomoe hums in agreement. Let us be rid of this trained water first. Then we can find out what this crown is.

The pair heads to the nearest church. Though it isn't one that's for the Tempest Domain, the church is more than happy to take the demonic water from Tomoe and compensate her for her efforts. She gets 400 GP for the two bottles from the Church. Then it was off to House Serpent. Lucia holds Tomoe's hand as they head up the hill into the aristocratic part of town. They pass by large mansions while they climb higher and higher. "You've never seen Brass Keep. I'm excited for you to see." Once the two reach the top of the hill, before them stands a massive tower as large as any castle. Lucia leads the way and just walks into the castle through the front doors. Save fore some heavily armored elite guards, the ground floor is quite barren. Lucia walks up to the receptionist who also appears to be one of the elite guards, decked out head-to-toe in magic Plate armor. "Hi. We're here to visit House Serpent for magic item Identification." "5th floor." The guard replies back. She pulls a lever and a large heavy metal gate opens up to reveal a spiral staircase going all the way up.

Tomoe is in awe. The only official building in her homeland belonged to tye Imerial family. Her castle was large but not this huge. She keeps her hand intrigued in Lucia's and allows herself to be led around.

Lucia takes her up the stairs. Tomoe sees many doors and rooms as they pass each floor. When the reach the 5th floor however, Tomoe notices that even more elite guards and strong gates stop people from going further above the 5th floor. Lucia leads Tomoe down the hall of the 5th floor of Brass Keep towards the only door there; a set of wooden double doors reinforced by iron. The Doors bare a blue emblem of a sea serpent coiled around itself. "This is House Serpent, Brass City Division."

Pushing the door open, the two find themselves in a large entrance room with a desk directly opposite to the door and a dwarf man in his mid-30s sitting behind it. "Hey. We're here to get a magic item identified." The dwarf responds by pointing to a door to the left saying, "Go through there and see Jeffery." Lucia nods her thanks and follows the directions. Through the left door they find another shorter hall that had two doors. One was clearly marked with Jeffrey's name. Lucia pushes it open. A tiefling man with red skin and short horns sits behind a table. surrounded by his magical experiments. He speaks, "How may I help you?"

Hello Sir, we have a magic item we need identified please.

The tiefling says, "I see. That will be 150 GP for identification."

Tomoe pays the fee and hands him the crown.

He looks at the circlet and then furrows his brow. He takes 10 minutes to cast Detect Magic and then instead of casting Identify, he instead checks some of his books. Strange. He then clears his throat and says, "Ah this is called a Weatherband Circlet. It offers some protection against Thunder and Lightning. Though it's not very common to find in stores, it isn't too rare either. I am willing to buy it off your hands at the standard sell back price of 1,000 GP  Considering its poor condition, I think that is a very good deal, yes?"

While wearing this, any Lightning or Thunder Damage you take is reduced by 10 (at minimum 0). This can be used a spell casting focus by Sorcerers, Wizards and Warlocks.

Tomoe accepts the offer.

Lucia quickly grabs Tomoe's hand and then pulls her aside, turning to the Tiefling wizard and saying, "Give us a second."

"Chief, don't you think something's off? If Weatherband Circlets are so cheap, why is offering to pay us the sell back price for something this old? Surely 1,000 GP is a bit too much for slightly rare magic item that's centuries old right?"

Fair point. Do you think he is trying to trick us?

Lucia says, "Well, I can't tell if he's lying about the item itself or not but I think there's more to this that he isn't telling us. I don't think it's cursed though because then he probably wouldn't be so eager to get it from us. Or he'd be able to get it from us for cheaper if he told us it was cursed."

Let us press him a bit and see where it goes.

Tomoe turns back to the teifling. So, why is something thats not to uncomon and in such poor condition worth so much ?

The tiefling was not expecting for that question. "Well ah... you see it's because... Ah... it's not but I thought I might offer you a good price since other shops would pay much less. Yes! After all, you deserve some reward for finding an item this old."
