Gimble closely examines the trap door, her small fingers cautiously feeling out any wires or unusual texture of the wood and find no signs of any traps. She looks up and gives Gaerich, Muldoon, Maggie, and Cyrus a thumbs up.
Cyrus then opens the trap door and a stench of rotten fish and sulfur bursts out, the smell making eyes water and a tickle in the back of the throat. Looking down into the trap door everyone sees a series of rotten wooden steps that leads into the darken of the second floor
Cyrus breathes deep, his eyes watering in the satisfied grimace of a boozer slugging strong whiskey. "By sea foam that's the stuff..." He redraws his rapier, taking advantage of both his darkvision and Maggie's magical lights, and starts his way down the rotted stairs.

Maggie's four lights float through the green mist, entering the second floor and illuminating the hallway, which is around five feet wide and runs 40 feet and ends at a closed door. There are two doors on the left and two doors on the right as well, each separated by ten feet for a total of five doors.
Taking the lead Cyrus uses the balls of his feet as he steps gingerly on the rotting steps. The wood compresses slightly from Cyrus's weight, but he makes it down to the second-floor safely. Maggie's lights, mixed with the green mist give off an eerie aurora. Cyrus stands at the foot of the rotting stairs and five feet forward he sees the first pair of door, followed by the second pair, and then at the end of the hallway the fifth door. He tries to listen, but can't hear anything unusual through the creaking of the rocking ship.

Gimble will examine the bodies as well attempting to answer Gearich's question.

Tentatively, Gimble begins to go down the steps. As she goes deeper into the ship, Gimble becomes more and more weary. Quietly, "Oh, Nebelun, give me strength." In a near whimper, Cyrus, what do you see? They weren't ghosts above, but that doesn't mean that can't be down here..."
Cyrus opens the door to the left and then quickly jumps back as the door opens to reveal a mostly empty room with some barrels, a few that have been turned on their sides and filled with the green mist. Cobwebs cover the corners of the room and the floor looks rotten like the stairs. Water drips from the deck above.
Gimble jumps a little spooked when Cyrus jumps back, bumping in Gearich. After nothing comes out after Cyrus, Gimble in a harsh hushed tone, "Sheesh Cyrus, you scared me..."
"Sorry," a choked whisper comes out. "AHEM - Sorry little one..." Cyrus replies in a wavery confident tone. He searches the barrels quickly and moves on to the next room.

Using his feet, Cyrus nudges the tipped over barrels and only a small amount of green ooze sloshes out and stains the rotting floors. One of the standing barrels is already open and peering inside Cyrus sees the green mist consuming rotting food.
"Just staying on my toes is all," Cyrus replies in a voice slightly deeper than his normal one. He gives Maggie and Gimble a look that says I'm glad you're here; don't tell anyone. "Nothing but rotten food in here...Why don't we split up to search faster? Clavorus!!" He calls out.
