Deshi, distraught, does the only then he can think of. He unstoppers his decanter and calls out a geyser of water, attempting to separate Ironsides from his companions.

Deshti looses the cork, and Tavish is caught by surprise as the pressure rockets the iron man into the wall of a building, collapsing the wall on top of him!
"I have all the maps," Penny whispers. "The Doctor has one he's taking to the authorities, but it's not complete. Now shush. If that Copper finds us, you all be quiet, let me go out there, but get ready to run. We can't fight him."
She will wait ten minutes, peeking out the whole time to see if Tavish shows up.
Roland puts his glaive up against the cart and stretches. "Dang, it feels good to shake some pigs off again. Last time must've been when I set fire to White Eagles private wagon." He chuckles to himself "Ah, memories. Now! Give me a map, and if we're going spelunking in a sinkhole, we're going to need plenty of ropes."
Penny takes the sheaf of rolled up papers she has been holding this whole time and drops it at her feet, taking her pack off. "Deshi, here's the original map back," she pulls it out and gives it to the tortle. "And here, are the copies." She takes another bundle of papers from her pack. "Dr. Walton and I were watching as the birds worked to copy the maps, and he couldn't believe what he saw. Apparently, the birds were picking up on some of the finer details of the original; that we just couldn't see very well. Here," she spreads one of the new maps. "Here are some fault lines that don't show up on the original, and this one," she points, "goes right through where we're standing!"
"I think these symbols mean there's going to be a fissure soon... Dr. Walton got all excited and worried and ran off with one of the incomplete maps. I took the rest."
"I think we're about to be in a world of trouble."

"In point of fact, it would appear that we will soon be in two worlds of trouble," says the tortle darkly. They sigh, preparing to say something truly painful. "I do not wish to say this, but... It is more important that we save this town than Deshi enter the world below. I will spread the word and allow you all to enter."
Roland scratches his scruffy chin."No, you're not staying behind.. we need you smartypants. Why not just start yellin' for people to get out of town or they'll die? Panic can be very persuasive."

Penny looks back and forth between Deshi and Roland. "Forget the people! How do we survive this? Deshi, I need you to look at the map and take us to the fissure, then see us through safely. Dr. Walton is already alerting the authorities. Though I expect they will have the four of us at the top of their list of priorities, they will also get people to safety, and be much more effective about than little old you."

"Agreed," Ormond says. "Tavish saw us all, and he has a trap memory when it comes to wanted individuals. Assume that all of us are now fugitives - the best things we can do four ourselves, is get to some place that they'll have trouble finding us... if that means going below, then so be it."
Dusting his clothes off, he comments, "We should try to supply up, if we can."
"I'm broke." Roland turns his pockets inside out. "But it wouldn't be the first time I've stolen something, same probably goes for the girl."He points to Penny.

"I've got a little bit of money... At the very least, we should purchase rations and extra water. Fresh water could be hard to come by at times. Push come to shove, I could create water, about ten gallons, but we'd need containers to store them," Ormond replies.
" Either way, let's get moving."
Ormond begins to look around their immediate area and suggests they walk the opposite direction of the Sheriff's path
He also keeps an eye out for a general store of sorts.

Penny shrugs noncommittally at Roland's suggestion that she might have lightened the inventory of a merchant or two, but at least she doesn't pretend to get all offended. She also doesn't offer up any money. "Food, water, sure. Ropes? Light? Deshi, you've probably thought about this before, what else?"
She will also keep her head on a swivel as we go, and urge Deshi to be faster, and Roland to be quieter. Perception: 16

Deshi remains quiet in thought as he rubs his “fingers” together and follows you all.
You all sneak along, trying to avoid the Militia’s presence. The day is drawing on, and it is reaching sunset. The rumbling is getting steadily more noticeable and it would appear that folks are being ushered around by some of the guard. There is no sign of Doctor Walton.
However, you can easily find a general store. For simplicity, go ahead and make a Stealth roll.
