Seeing the front door covered and Dain tending to the horse, Manfred wanders over to the stables, peering inside, but staying within sight of the others.
Vulgrom raises an eyebrow at the others looking around. He simply strides up to the front door and knocks firmly, "Hello! Is anybody home? Surely past the decent hour to wake!"
Ashtear walks towards the main building and calls out, "Hello? Excuse me, is tehre anyone home?" while pondering if she should try fixing up the house a little bit while they're in the area.
(You all approach the door, and hear something like footsteps on the otherside, theres a brief pause, then the door barely cracks open and you see a young girl taring at you from behind the minor crack in the door. She has shaggy long blonde hair and a bit of a dirty face from what you can tell. Yes? Can i help you? She says in a almost whispered tone.
Albanus will look around for anything abnormal - the horses, the general area, the path for footprints etc.... Perception with advantage because of Enchance Ability, 19

Seeing the front door covered and Dain tending to the horse, Manfred wanders over to the stables, peering inside, but staying within sight of the others.
(You cast your spell and glance around the small stable, and thanks to your spell as it is rather dark, make out a few more horses, and some farming equipment. Something that does seem strange to you however is the fact that the shadows seem darker in some places than others, almost unnaturally dark)

Vulgrom holds onto his amulet of All-Father and approaches with opens hands, a gentle voice and a warm smile, "Hey there, lass. My friends and I have come to find a man. I was hoping a bright girl like yourself can help us."
Manfred raises an eyebrow and looks out to see where the others are. "Dain!" He hisses at the dwarf nearby. "There is something...peculiar about this stable." Without waiting to see if the dwarf responds, Manfred takes one step into the stable and sends his orbs towards parts of the unnaturally dark shadows, testing if their light penetrates them.

Crouching down to her knees but not moving any more forward, along with Vulgrom's words joins in. Speaking low, like the girl, "Hi, I'm Roll, is your mom or big sis around?" 4 Persusian if needed.
(If the girl looks hungry or like she hasn't eaten in awhile, Ashtear will also hold out some rations fruit-and-oat-bar-but she'll make it smell like fruit and chocoalte. She will give it to the girl if she wants it)
Dain seemed unaware of Manfred calling out to him, but Aura who caught it, poked the dwarf to see if that'd grab his attention or not. Either way, Aura would move closer to the bard, asking. "Hm... Can I see if I might be able to help? What is the problem here?"
Manfred nods silently, relieved to have someone notice his summons. As Aura approaches, he speaks softly to her, as not to spook whoever had answered the door. "There seems something unnaturally dark inside this stable." He gestures towards the shadows made by his glowing orbs.
In a low voice, Manfred begins singing the song he wrote for the monk. (Aura take a d8 through Bardic Inspiration to use in the next ten minutes for an ability check, attack, or saving throw)
"The maiden fair they said her name was Aura;
She looked like a simple signora;
But she moved like the breeze;
And villains she most displeased;
With punches and kicks that made them most sore-ah

The young girl seems a bit untrusting at first, but the gentle words of Vulgrom helps put her at ease. She opens the door a bit more and peeks her head outside looking around. I can try. But everyone else is gone now. I don't know if theyre ever coming back.. she says, her head sinking a bit even as she speaks.

Face her and you'll be sunk."
(The spell still active, and based on previous perception check, you point to the area to show Aura, and several of the shadows almost move on their own, sliding along the walls or under the horses. Spooked by the sudden movement, the horses start becoming unsettled and anxiously pull at the ropes holding them fast to the wooden posts.)
Edit: Also Dain, the horse just looks lioe a regular horse, just maybe with some odd patterns to its coat.
(Thanks, just was not going to move on without knowing what Dain found out about the horse.)
Dain follows the summons over to the stables, frowning at Aura as she jabs him for no reason. 'What ye be about?" He asks her, already on his way to the stables. Dain looks aorund the stables as well, checking out the darker areas a bit closer.

"Let's find out together. Can me and my friends come in?" Vulgrom keeps up the warm face, his eyes gaze over through the widened gap to see how long she's been kept like this...
Ashtear is hesistating to do anything, because the girl is wary of her. (However, of note, if sudden action occurs within hearing range. She's going to opt to protect the girl-either by following inside or taking her with the group. (Even if our allies start screaming bloody murder haha))

Albanus will move towards the child slowly and kneel gently at eye level. “Who is not coming back? Little one, can you tell us what happened? Where is everyone?”

The young girl looks to you and nods silently, still looking rather untrusting and more than a little scared. (Looking inside through the door the place looks to be in shambles, with tables over turned and broken bits of furniture strewn about, as though a herd of bulls had crashed through the place. She opens the door a bit wider and mouths "come quick" to you waving her hand frantically.

It was the darkness that took them. Last night.. But she stops short as she looks at the shed wide eyed.
As Dain looks around, his eye catches a bit of unnatural black amongst the shadows, and as Manfreds spell illuminates the area, you then see what looks like a living shadow emerge. Several more also seem to scurry about in the rafters and among the horses, though you arent exactly sure how many, it seems like there must be at least five of them, one directly in front of where the horses are secured, two above in the rafters, and two more near some miscellaneous farming equipment in the far left corner, closer to the horses.
(Let's roll for initiative!)
