Summary: Tarak steps over, taking a quick swig of a potion (+6) before attempting to land two blows. The first blow is a solid hit ( (2+3) +3 str: 8). Again flames erupt around him from the strike, but he manages to avoid the ones burning his face (9). The creature once again hex's the Paladin; his mind becoming full of fog. As he deals with that; three blasts of force and necrotic energy pound into his chest (16).
Morgan, seeing the desperation from Abigail, summons forth their rapier. Two quick cuts; one getting knocked to the side before the second pierces the creatures heart. It slumping over.
In that moment, Lafetha moves to cure Abigail of her wounds. (+16)
Again, the small little... things come forward. Tossing out a key which lands by Abigail's feet, before darting back into the fog. A simple blur of movement. Before leaving you with just the sound of something burning in the distance...
Your own voice once again speaks to you in your head, breaking the noise of the fire. This time with a bit of a joyous laugh.
Abigail spits up blood, glaring at Tarak, "You fracking, hot-headed..."
She eyes the key and grabs it up. Then feels Lafetha's healing energies surge through her.
"...you could have gotten us killed! Next time you plan on randomly assaulting whatever being we are talking to, I will run you through! You let us know when you are about to go off like some lose cannon, before you go off."

Morgan shouts the voice that keeps psychically pestering them, "Are you not entertained? Are you not entertained?!" Morgan pours a healing potion into Tarak's throat. 11
When Tarak comes to they say to him, " Listen if you could buy me another healing potion when you have a chance... it would go a long way for me no regretting me using this one on you...Also, I think you have a disciplinary hearing coming up." Morgan checks the elf corpse for anything.
"...you could have gotten us killed! Next time you plan on randomly assaulting whatever being we are talking to, I will run you through! You let us know when you are about to go off like some lose cannon, before you go off."
As Abigail takes the key and places it in a pocket, she can hear it *clink* into the keychain. Moving from whatever it was to be next to the others.
The shadows of the creatures continues to zip around. Small blurs of movement, unable stand still for too long.
The sounds of Fire continue to echo into your ears.... the only other sound, faintly, is one of the bells of the Windhook from the rocking of the boat. Reminding you there is a way out... but you are all sure you have not seen the impact crater. Which is likely the sound of the fire...
((If folks have a conversation / heals / etc - it happens here in the inbetween heading to the fire sounds based on the OOC convo))
The crew, collecting themselves, move to the sound of the fire.
They move slow. Knowing that they're injured, but still ready for danger.
The ground continues to become more of a fine ash. And eventually, they see.... it. Something impacted into the ground; causing a 10 ft wide radius impact zone. It's rather small... comparatively to everything else you all have encountered.
A gauntlet sits down there; having crashed through a large rock. It would cover the hand, and extend and be fastioned all the way to just under the shoulder. It seems to be made largely of the spine of some creature. Other bones, and fasteners of what could be rock. Twisted bits of hide form ropes to place through fasteners. It's hotter near the impact zone, but nothing unexpected.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Tarak looks at Morgan and thanks her for the heal. “You will be rewarded for sacrificing your potion to me.”
then looks at Abigail “I apologize for not giving notice first but the demon knowing I was coming could have made things worse. Maybe you would prefer to lose an advantage but I would not.”

Arcana 8
As you get closer you can feel your heart race... the gauntlet having some kind of impact on you. It's likely magical in nature, but beyond that... it's materials and purpose escape you.
Tarak, you pick up the gauntlet and attachments. It's awkward to carry; with all the straps dangling down and flopping. You don't know if it'll fit your hand as is, likely needing some adjustments during a moment when you're not on guard (short or long rest).
It's... hot. Very hot... like something that's been in the fire and needs to be passed from one hand to the other to prevent some burning. While you hold it, you still feel your heart beating out of your chest. Thumping faster and faster... adrenaline kicking into over drive.
You feel something trying to get in your head, creating just a high pitch whine that feels like it's just buzzing around your left ear. Even when you turn your head, it's still there. It's annoying, especially combined with some kind of psychic pressure building against your sense of self. Dropping the gauntlet causes it to stop, but picking it up, it starts right back up again. Right where it left off... the pressure continuing to build.
The shadows that have been following you all begin to fade into the dust in the air. Seeming to be leaving you alone, at least for now.
Tarak shifts the gauntlet from hand to hand as they head back toward the ship. Feeling the pressure build almost like it is trying to push its way into his mind he thinks about the voice he heard along the search. Could they be the same thing? Would letting them in make him a prisoner? Did it only affect him this way?
He decides to ask Morgan to touch the gauntlet and see if she feels the same noise and pressure. While he keeps a tight grip on it.
Abigail sees the gauntlet, and Tarak shifting it from one hand to the other, does not get any closer.
"If it is that hot, just put it on the end of your sword, and lets get out of here. Whatever it is, I am sure it is rather valuable, but we are waiting time just standing here - others may coming soon, and I would prefer if we were safely back on the ship by that point."
It's only a few hours after you all left the boat. The Windhook has remained fairly stationed by the shore. Seeing you all return, Mr. Firmin rows the boat closer - giving you all a moment to get back on board.
"Well, I certainly hope there are some spoils for us all to profit on," Captain Rollo states. Looking over at Tarak holding the weird bone gauntlet. Clearly thinking on how best to sell it.
Again, inside each of your heads, your own voice rings out.

Morgan nods vigorously at Captain Rollo, "Yes, I imagine that we'd all get a pretty amount of coin from selling this thing, and it would be seen as a breach of contract (probably) if someone would to selfishly use it to go on a zealous inquisition."
Morgan shouts at the forest, "Just say what you mean! Is Common your second language?! ((in Elven)) <Do you speak Elven?>"
Morgan turns to Abigail, "We need to do something with those keys, because this is driving me insane, and we don't know if they are tied to this place or not, so they might not work anywhere else. Right now, I say we throw the damn thing in the river because we're good right now, don't need to risk the devil for a dime. But, whatever you do. Do it now, so I don't have the cosmic peanut gallery making commentary on my every move."
Tarak looks at Morgan “Sometimes in life you are the hammer other times you are the nail. I prefer to be the hammer but I am not an inquisitor. I do not hunt down and torture people looking for confessions of their sins. I did my job and protected this group by being the hammer and you saved me in return and I thank you. But as we are nowhere near being able to sell this thing and since I won’t sell a dangerous object to just anyone. I am going to figure out what this thing does.”
Tarak attunes during his long rest and then spends his ttime in the evening catching fish for the crew.

Wis Save 13
Tarak, you go through the rituals and motions of opening yourself up to the gauntlet. Taking the pieces and parts - readjusting them for your size compared to whatever it was on before. As you tighten some of the straps; you feel... it. That psychic pressure finally snapping as the mind of whatever is in this thing makes it's connection.
"Oh Bearer Mine. Let us walk in Shadow. Let us lead new Rivers of Blood."
The bones flex and tighten the cords as it bonds to you. Flashes of violence wash before your vision. A urge to destroy the crew. To sail away. To carve death and destruction.... Your eyes change during these moments. Pupils closing to the point they're not even there anymore. The name Azir seems to flow through your mind for a moment... a fragment or the echo of some kind of creature... caught and alive in these bones.
After a moment you're able to push it out of your own mind. Regaining control of your vision. But it's cackle rings in your ear; faintly. If this creature is bound to this gauntlet, or, the gauntlet is made from it's bones..... it's evil. Truly evil with little regard. Even towards you....
Still, a newfound power is now running through your bones. One of darkness. Forbidden teachings in the Faith discuss the arcane magics as a dangerous tool of the old world. One that shouldn't be trusted... And now those magics are flowing through you.
You have the feeling that this is truly bonded to you in a way that other things aren't. You couldn't take off the gauntlet, even if you tried. Even if you wanted to take it off...
