“Fair enough. If we’re gonna be waiting, I might as well keep watching.” Before settling for a short rest, Rex casts Detect Thoughts to detect the presence of any thinking creatures within 30 feet. Rex’s eyes turn a deep silver as he does so.
Arliden thinks about playing his lute for a minute, and then decides a quieter tune might be better and just whistles a calming tune. He'll use Song of Rest so everyone heals and extra 1d6 if they use any hit dice.
He'll spend 1 hit dice 3 | Are you fu***** kidding me? [Arliden flips the table in front of him and then spends another effing hit dice] | Hit dice 2 6
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
OOC: Why are you rolling a d20 for your hit dice? Also make sure you add your con modifier (unless that was the +1) Gotta love Bards and their Song of Rest! :-) Going to spend 2 hit dice and the song of rest 28

[Good catch. Arliden, re-roll your hit dice using a d8.]

[No idea why my brain died and I rolled d20's (also yep +1 con). So lets try this again. Hit dice 1: 7 ]
Hmmm. Not available? 13
[You know what? I'm gonna flip a literal table. Either way, 2 hit dice got me to max HP, so I'll just call it my mistake, and burn my two hit dice and be at full hitpoint while I try to figure out what is going on with the dice roller.]

Fjordix made a hand gesture that simply meant lead the way, he was quite happy to let Rex take point. It would allow him to keep a watch on the impulsive Dragon Spawn.

[Rolling hit dice for Arryn:
1: 5 2: 10 (using only if first roll is less than 9)]
You exit the room you're in and continue to go down stairs. The chamber that opens at the bottom of the stairs is immense. A wide ledge runs along the left wall and drops away to a pit on the right. Many stalactites descend from the ceiling, and the sound of dripping water echoes continuously. The lower portion of the room is 15 feet below the ledge. Wooden steps have been built down to the lower floor. The steps are enclosed in a stout iron cage with a gate at the bottom. The key to the gate hangs on a wall peg opposite the top of the stairs.
From the ledge, you can just make out the shapes of large eggs (each egg is nearly three feet tall) in the darkness below. The cavern extends into darkness beyond the range of your light. You can discern many large, dark stains on the rough floor at the base of the ledge, but what caused them is not apparent.
[You are now in the upper (lighter) portion of the chamber just above "BLANDO" on the bottom right corner of the map. You just entered the chamber from the left and are at the bottom of the wide stairs. What would you like to do now?]
"Those are huge" Fjordix says as he eyes the three foot eggs, "We should be careful, usually they don't cage in chicken eggs" Fjordix then follows Arliden, around the edge of the area to investigate the pit.
Novot bends down and takes an unlit torch from her backpack. She lights it and throws it into the pit. [She's trying to get it to land right about where the edge of their current light reaches]

Hatchling can tell that the stains are blood, and some of them are fresh. As Novot's torch lands in the pit, you see 2 drakes (like the ones a few chambers ago) just with the reach of the firelight.
Arliden and Fjordix make there way toward the other pit. When they make it as far as the stairs leading down into the pit, objects come flying out of the pit.
Arliden and Fjordix, roll 2 DEX saves. Everyone roll initiative.

Hell yeah. She goes in for it, tattoo and eyes flashing white.

[Everyone, go ahead and take a short rest. Rex does not detect any thoughts outside of those gathered in the current chamber.]

[I think Arryn and Fjordix are the only ones who have not rolled their hit dice yet. Where would the party like to go next?]
OOC: I rolled my Hit Dice a few posts up.
[That you did. My bad.]
OOC: No biggie, I am full HP at this point. Ready to move on?
"So where are we heading too Rex?"

Rex will scout the obscured floor with Hatchling’s blindsight and have him grab the key.
