[The cultist seems to be too devoted to the cause to be persuaded away, despite how convincing you were.]
He looks back and forth between you and says, "I've already been 'traded for a copper' to my Queen, and I would gladly trade myself again. Bahamut grew complacent after the she was cast to the Nine Hells and has since forgotten about our realm. When she rises again, Bahamut won't be here to quarrel. All will fall in under her banner or be destroyed." Looking to Rex he adds, "I would think a chromatic dragonborn such as yourself would be smarter about the allegiances you make."
Rex solemnly nods at the cultist, “As you wish, my child.” And gives Arliden the go ahead for his spooky mind magics, but not before casting Hex on the cultist to give disadvantage on Charisma checks (Deception, Persuasion, Intimidation)

[Just a heads up that Hex imposes disadvantage on ability checks, not ability saves. What you have suggested would make it difficult for him to lie, persuade, or intimidate you, not the other way around. It's probably best to save the spell slot.]
"Well, I guess I could try one other thing." and I'll turn towards Rex and in a somewhat lowered voice, "But like how much do we think this dude might actually know? Should we just kill him and move on? We already kind of know where the camp is."
“True enough. I know all their faces now. Should help.” Rex walks over to the cultist, “May it be as you have said. May you rest in your queen while you can.” Rex places his palm over the cultist’s face and point-blank Eldritch Blasts him.

Rex's hand glows faintly, and the cultist's head rocks back violently. For a few moments, he remains seated on the ground with his head further back than human anatomy would seem to allow. Slowly, his body gives way to gravity as he falls to the ground.
Arliden things that once we all take any rest we need we just move forward. He feel fine but glancing at Novat and Fjordix...they may need to catch their breath.
OOC: A short rest would return to me both my action surge and second wind, if we have the option that would be nice. I will equip that splint armor if in fact it fits and is in good shape.
[Everyone take a short rest. The splint mail is a little tight on Fjordix, but not so tight as to be unusable. There a a few dents and dings in it, but most of them can probably be hammered out.]
As everyone begins sitting down, wrapping wounds, and exchanging armor, Arliden strikes up a calming tune on his lute. He sings no words just plays the strings in a slow calming manner, occasionally stopping to tune the strings.
[Using Song of Rest, if anyone uses Hit Dice to heal up you get an extra 1d6 healing.]

Arliden starts patting him down for stuffs and things.
To clarify, even if he's still alive after that Arliden will pilfer while the rest of them take care of this dude.
Roll for attack with advantage.
[Attack: 19 Damage: 6 force damage, you bring me shame Rex...]

What would you like to do, now?

[Short rest then? If so, Rex will strip the Splint cultist and toss the armor to Fjordix.]

[Novot's good - only down 1 hp. But I'm fine with resting]
Saul - Reluctant Saviors of Luskan (5e)

(a rest would be nice)

OOC: Awesome, Fjordix will take the time to fit don the splint mail and then will sit and catch a breather.
