Ardeth is pretty impressed with the holy place and it’s adherents. He is not from a large practice and his faith’s most faithful never gather in such large groups.
He nods and greets the monks with their own greeting “Peace amidst Chaos”. Though if it were his mantra he would prefer Chaos brings Peace.
Leading the group mostly out of curiosity and excitement Ardeth steps into the temple in search of someone in a leadership role... if they are even easily identifiable.

The one who initially greeted you says to Benagol "Ah, help we can provide." He reviews the letter. "Hm, Diamond you say? We do have a Jannell Diamond who worships here. She can be found in the temple. Please, remove your footwear before you enter. Peace among admist Chaos."
Assuming you follow the monk's instructions, the party approaches the temple and removes their footwear at the door. At the center of the temple quarantined by ashen stones a bonfire burns, its smoke ventilating through a covered-shaft above it. An altar lit with candles and dressed with flowers is at the far end of the room. On either side of you are six doors, most of which are open. A quick glance informs you that they are likely the rooms for the monks, each with two bunk beds and a desk. Some of the monks are resting, others are studying, and then there are a few who meditate before the altar. Jannell is one of the only female monks you've noticed. She sits in front of the alter and looks to be mediating.

You all approach and greet the woman. She takes a few moments to return her mind to the material plane, stands up and greets you all. "Peace admist Chaos travelers. How may I help?"
You explain that you were sent here by Roze of the Diamond House, showing the letter she stamped. You mentioned that Arrow Diamond sent his journal here last year and you are looking for the information it contains.
"Ah, yes...Arrow Diamond...he is my father. I had not seen him in many years, but I was not surprised he sent me his journal. It contained a lot of information and secrets. To be safe....I burned the journal shortly after receiving it." Jannell says with a straight face. Noticing your concerned/confused faces, she smiles and explains, "My father sent me this journal because I knew I would keep it safe up here at the monastery. I burned the book because I have perfect recall. I need only read a book once and I remember every detail and if it were open before me. Within my mind, my father's secrets are safe. And as a servant of the Glass Hand, not even the gods can steal my thoughts."

Well, we came all this way to help your father, who is nowhere to be found. And there is more: his servant Moop has been killed by some dangerous weirdos called Smoking Mirror cultists...ah and they also made a theft at your father's estate, taking a handful of books, a map of Elsath...but your father's Servant Roze believes they were searching for his journal.
Also they are searching for this kind of WELL OF SECRETS and some lost city of Hearth
ANd shows the map,
In a nutshell, these guys are up to no good and your father migh be in danger, can you help us?
Rubin growls to himself and prepares to head back to the ship. He pauses as he hears one of his companions starting to talk to the girl and sighs, stopping to see if she can give any aid in this or not.

"You know, you make great points. I am sorry this has caused you all so much chaos...especially since these cultist seem to have an eye on the same goals my father sought. I like your gusto...coming all this way to find the journal. You work with a purpose, I like that. My father's journal had many notes on a medallion. This medallion is called the Herald's Key. I assume if you are going through all of this trouble with the cultist because you have the Herald's Key? Not only is it a literal key to the temple of Hearth, where the treasure and the rumors of great evil are abound, but it also reveal the location of the Shunned City of Hearth. We all must travel to the Obsidian Plain. There, I will show you how to use it. I must insist that I go, as you must rely on what I read in the journal to progress further."
"To show my allegiance, take this. My father sent me this with the journal. Being of The Glass Hand, I have no use of weapons. You all seem you could make great use of it."
Jannell hands you this elegant sword.

Jannell chuckles "Not many have, dear. The city is lost in the jungles of the island Elsath. Not many have returned from their journey to the island...but those who have spoke of many dangers in the jungle...and none hadn't found even a sign of any city. My father had a growing obsession with finding Hearth...he usually has at least one obsession a decade. The old man needs to just stay home and retired, doesn't look like much has changed since I left home."

Gerry will wander aimlessly around, mostly at peace. His own temple was similar, although not quite so peaceful and monastic.

Damn, all this way...
but he tries to retain a decent look

"Sounds good to me. Although I don’t think I’ve ever heard of this "shunned city’."
