Lia sighs and steps forward with the cloth filled with goo.
"As I am sure you noticed, the creature left some of its substance in your throne room, as my companion stated." Lia says as she holds up the cloth. "The goo is much like this, and the creature turned into a large pool of this once slain. We collected what we could so you could see for yourself that it was indeed destroyed as requested."
(Assuming someone else is saying bits to aid in the telling, I will roll two rolls, in case I have advantage.)
King Korboz looks unconvinced at Rhok's explanation, but starts agreeing once Lia takes the lead. "We agree that the monster left a trail with the same shade of purple". After hearing the full tale he is convinced that the monster is dead. "Since it is now safe to go out, you will have to excuse us for a second". He closes the door and you can hear faint sounds from inside the room. After a minute, the door reopens and both kings are standing in front of you.
King Jebbedo is disheveled and still has glue remains on his clothes "I want to thanks all of you for convincing my fellow king that it's safe to go outside. I'm glad that all this nonsense about an imagined monster is over." Korboz replies "what do you mean nonsense? the monster was real and killed many of our subjects!" he takes a deep breath and continues "in any case, you deserve a reward for a job well done. Take this seal to Fibblestib and he will unlock the vault for you. We are sure that you will find something of use in there."
Lothlién bows: "Thank you, your majesty. If that`s not asking too much, would there be a place for us to rest before heading back on our way?"
King Korboz syas "there is an usused room in the sleeping quarters, it may feel a bit cranped for you, but you are welcome to rest there. We would like to invite you to dine with us tonight, a feast is in order to celebrate our people's safety".
You walk back to the inventors' workshop and present the king's seal to Fibblestib. He marvels as you retell the battle against the mimic "what surprises me most is that King Korboz was not mad after all, but I'm sure this sanity ray is going to be useful as soon as I finish tweaking the last details." Gnerkli is equally impressed and decides to rest for a while, now that both kings are safe.
Fibblestib leads you to the locked treasury and opens the door inserting two keys into some seemingly random spots between the double doors, ignoring the lock completely. The room contains multiple gnomish inventions, as well as loose parts that belonged to ancient weapons "I'm pretty sure that there were some magical items in here, but I can't remember where were they stowed." You are left to search for yourselves, and instructed to just close the door on your way out, the locking mechanism will engage itself.
"Let's simplify this..." Lia says and casts detect magic as a ritual. she then moves around trying to find anything that is magical in nature.
Lia's spell make two objects glow with magical auras in the room. There is an amulet radiating conjurating magic and a 1-foot-long rod that radiates transmutation magic. You don't know how they work yet, but if you spend an hour with them you can figure it out.
Lothliénlooks for anything interesting, be it for battles, for survival, or for pure value.
Lothlién looks every shelf. Most of the stuff in here has so many levers and exposed gears that you can't even guess what their purpose may be. Among the many gnomish contraptions, he recognizes a grappling hook and a crowbar.
You get the feeling that you have spent enough time looking at items in here and that you have found anything that may aid you in your future quest.
Lia puts the two magical items into her pack and nods to the others. She waits for them to finish their searching then moves towards the door. "Shall we go and find somewhere to rest for a bit before this feast?" She asks the others.
You walk out of the treasury. As Fibblestib said, the lock on the doors engages as soon as you close them.
Waiting outside is a gnome in uniform you haven't seen before, he presents himself "greetings, my name is Roondar. His majesties the kings have sent me to guide you and offer you the best treatment as honored guests in Gnomegarde. Is there anything in particular you would like to do?"
"I guess I could use a bath and fresh clothes... I probably smell like wine and shapeshifter-jelly from miles" Lothlién suggests, humorously but a bit ashamed too
Roondar replies in a polite tone, with just a hint of an accent "of course, please follow me." He guides you trough the inventors' workshop and into the foggy room with the spinning turnstiles, he lowers the lever on the wall to stop them and, after everyone has reached the other side safely, he murmurs something in gnomish to make blades start spinning again.
"Please mind your step" he says as you cross the rope bridge. You reach a guardpost on the other side, the guards stand at attention as you pass into an inner tunnel. He guides you to a corridor and stops in front of a room. "there is a bathtub in this next room, Gnerkli designed the water heating system. Take your time, I'll be waiting for you two doors down. Supper is in two hours."
Opening the door lets a cloud of vapor out, the room has an oversized tub, with four pipes going into it, and two washbins by one of the walls. In the wall in front of you is the most complex hot water boiler you have seen. There are at least half a dozen levers, multiple valves and so many pipes that it's hard to tell which one is which.

"sounds good to me" Lothlién says, following Lia

Lothlién takes a relaxing bath, as long as socially acceptable, and then goes to the dinner room.
