A curt nod had been Doozey's answer about down payment. But apart from that, the stoutling is strictkly to the point. He also, for his part, tried his best avoid meeting her gaze as he had done so in the past. Even if his friend was not a green herself, just being around any Dragonborn held the same effect. Never mind the conflict image of Claugiyliamatar now burdening the mind.
As if to busy himself from such troubling thoughts, he does briefly ask to more closely inspect one of the boxes(14gp) to confirm its quality. Even if she took it as a slight, so long as the request did not leave her completely embittered, he'd insist upon it; promising to pay for it if his handling damaged it any way.
Investigation: 17. (if allowed to more closely study mid-size box to ensure its quality is up to snuff)
Short of finding it truly wanting, Doozey purchases two midsized ones and a smaller one if it looked it could possible containing a fragment and only a fragment alone. "And here as well. Another 800 to go the headband. Just another 7000 to go.. eheh... eh.." He said, starting off cheery, only to quickly diminish in spirit.
Taters, who had once again taken up residence with his backpack, climbs out again to give Doozey a look. "Hm? Ah! Right. Don't worry. When we reach the armorer, we'll see about getting your gear adjusted too." The winged bunny make some kind of squeaking nose before gesturing to the Dragonborn with an ear. "What? I... oh.. uh, I don't think deals in purchasing less fantastical weaponry and armor." Doozey said, and yet for only the second time properly looked up the Dragonborn and asked, "Right?"
Seeing the elderly green dragonborn give her a slight shiver down Neya's spine. Perhaps the fact that the dragon of similar color that collapsed a tower with her inside left more than a physical mark on her.
"Think I will purchase that cloak you're offering. I have coin right with me." Neya accepts the dragonborn's offer.
(@Doozey: Your mask fragment fits in the smallest of the lead lockboxes but the lid won't close because of the weird angle you'd have to place the item inside. Therefore, I'll assume you do not buy the smallest box.)
Doozey's request to inspect the lead box meets no resistance after he offers to pay for any scuffs. After a few seconds, he determines that the box was built for the very purpose the shopkeeper described and that it seems to be functioning well, mechanically speaking. Although he is not examining it for magical traces, he is sure the box doesn't have any, otherwise the dragonborn would likely try to sell it for a lot more money. With a nod, Doozey picks up the two medium sized boxes and places 32gp on the lady's open palm.
The conversation quickly returns to the down-payment on the Headband of Intellect, with the nameless shopkeeper teasing the halfling a bit: "Have you really paid that much for it already?"She takes a pocket notebook from within her attire, flips a few pages, and makes some notes on it after gladly accepting Doozey's additional 800gp. Taters seems to convince Doozey to also asks about more mundane armor and arms, but the green dragonborn shakes her heads and immitates getting offended: "I peddle no simple wares in my shop."
Noticing that the ranger is basically done with his deals for now, Neya speaks up as to catch the lady's attention. In a few words, Neya makes the dragonborn's day! "Of course you will, girl! I'll be right back." She disappears for a minute or two and comes back with the cloak neatly folded in her hands. She explains the details of what the leathery cloak does once more, and collects a small fortune from the monk (6,000gp).
The dragonborn lady looks at Graxx next, but he seems uninterested in speaking even a single word. Utar then invites her gaze and gets in her good graces by asking about the magical shield she had offered. Her mood already in a good place, Utar uses the accumulated goodwill to add a request concerning Lightbringer. She is silent at first, which causes Utar to think she might have been offended by the implied accusations. Nonetheless, she responds: "Such a fine weapon wound fetch a good price in my type of business. If I ever have the chance to purchase it, I certainly will, especially now that I know how dear it is to you... He he he… Don't expect me to go out looking for it, but should it make its way to my counter, I'll make sure to let you know once you visit the Dockside Treasures once more. And don't forget your coin purse when you do... He he he."She daydreams a moment about the potential profits she is yet to make off CRAP and waves at the goliath at the door. He goes to the back of the store for a moment and eventually comes back with the shield Utar requested. She adds: "I can't be expected to haul that heavy shield myself... Anyhow, are you ready to purchase it now?" She looks at her notebook: "The quoted price was 5,000gp."
While Utar ponders on the purchase, he notices that the shopkeeper never addressed his request to know the source of the mace, should she come across it. Instead, she asks the entire group: "Now, have you brought anything interesting for me to buy? I can already see you have a few new pieces on you."
"I do have this scroll on me that I was considering, but... eh." Doozey makes an off-handed gesture of dismissal. "Be figure'n I keep a hold of it for a wee bit longer. But if we find anything else, we can part with, we'll certainly be back." He says, before looking to Neya. "So, on to our next stop yes?"

While Neya loses herself in admiration of her new, shining cloak, Graxx takes it upon himself to respond to the dragonborn's question. She seems disappointed upon realizing that the barbarian entered her establishment without the intent to either buy or sell anything.
Utar disappoints her further by informing her that he won't be taking that shield home today, but she does not complain about it based on his promise to do some business with her at a future date.
Doozey then teases parting ways with a magical scroll, and the shopkeeper's mood begins to change. Before they end up on her naughty list, the hunter proposes that the group leaves the shop.
(OOC: Pausing here just to make sure there is nothing else anyone wants to do in the Dockside Treasures Pawn Shop before heading to the Black Fist armorer. Also, I recall @MB saying at some point that he wanted to stop by the Valhingen Graveyard to pay respects to Brother Keefe. Is that still in the plans?)
Utar's eyes suddenly brighten as he recalls a little titbit that might be of use to the shopkeeper, to leave her completely empty handed.
"Should a couple of Black Fist guards come in, looking to offload a scroll, know that it only casts purify food and drink. I wouldn't be too upset if whatever deal you might strike with them for it wasn't strictly...fair."
With his piece said, Utar turns to the others waiting to head off to their next stop.
Neya, with new purchase in tow, everyone out of the shop, "Thank you very much for your help." She waves at the owner as she exits.
Once outside, with the door closed and out of earshot of the curiosity shop owner, she takes out her wand of web. "I have a feeling after getting accustomed to the cloak, I don't think I can maintain any more magical connection without breaking attunement with something else. Would someone like this wand when I inevitably break my connection with it?"
Doozey's eyes go wide for a second at the offer. "I.. huh... I'm honestly surprised you hadn't tried to barter that one off, if but only for the coin itself. But if you don't mind, I would certainly wish to make use of whatever that is... assuming that's even possible for one of my persuasion." He admits. "Though, you don't exactly strike me as wizard per se, so doubt that much will be an issue, neh?" A small grin teases his lips as he looks up to Neya. Though he would quickly concede if anyone else wished for the wand, Doozey is more than happy to have it join the Wand of Secrets.

(OOC: I am not sure if I mentioned this explicitly before but even though Neya is not strictly a spellcaster, I am considering her one for some mechanical purposes. The wand is one of them but another example are the scrolls I had mentioned she could use.)
The group begins the head out of the shop when Utar remembers something else. He mentions the potential scroll coming the shopkeeper's way and she grins in appreciation for the piece of intel. She nods, giving Utar a sense that she understood the message. Neya is the last one to leave, taking the opportunity to thank the dragonborn lady on her way out.
Having a sense she will soon overload her capacity to magically connect with her more fantastical tools, Neya asks if there are any CRAPer who would be interested in taking the Wand of Web for a spin. Doozey shows his interest and threads the curious item through the same belt loop in which he keeps his other wand.
With that, and still some time to spare, the group makes their way to the Black Fist's smithies. They find Brunhilde and Horseshoe toiling in the background. Siegfied comes to greet them: "Heya there, good folk. It's good to see yas again. What can I do for yas?"
Doozey stepped up as well, fishing out with time from his pack Tater's old studded leather armor. It's former wearer at the same time scrabbles his way out of the pack, and onto a shoulder, looking intently at Horshoe.
"Not sure entirely if its possible at this point. But, I was hoping to find out if it were to make adjustments to this set as well? As you can see, my friend here has undergone a significant change, to say the least." On cue, Taters expands his wings and turns up his head as if to look proud regale. "Oi. Careful with the wings there, bud. But yea, do you think its doable? Oh oh! Also, uh, do you purchase perhaps, uh, armor and weapons as well?" He asked of the pair, but would after look between them and Neya.
(@Lerus: If it was possible enroute to do so relatively secretly at some point, Doozey would have put his shard into the box and secure it his pack. And obviously also pass the other box off to Utar or Graxx to do the same.)

"To be fair, some of the chain mail is not in the best condition. Although, I suppose they could be used to repair other pieces. That is, if you're willing to take them." Neya says, giving a disclaimer.
(OOC: I feel that these are fairly straight forward transactions so I hope you don't mind me speeding them up just a tad.)
@Utar: The blacksmiths give you a couple of options:
They can buy the splint armor back for 100gp (except the one pauldron) and fashion brand new plate armor for you for 1,500gp. Since they'd only have to fashion one plate pauldron, they are willing to give you an additional 100gp discount. This will take several days to complete, if not a whole tenday, but the result is highly customizable to your tastes (flavor-wise). Overall, you'd only pay the difference: 1,300gp.
If you supply Garbuls' plate armor, they can refit and re-adorn it for you (make it more cleric-like as opposed to hobgoblin-like in style). They will charge you 500gpfor this service and the extra pauldron is yours to do with it what you will. They are still willing to buy back your splint armor for 100gp (except the one pauldron.) This will take a few days to complete, but not all hobgoblin-like style choices will be able to be reworked (flavor-wise). In the end, you'd only pay the difference: 400gp.
@Dozzey: Because you are providing the original set of studded leather barding for them to work with, the base priceto readjust it to fit Taters' new form would be 60gp, instead of full price. However, you may recall they contract out leatherworking to another shop, so they have to add a premium to cover the other artisan's costs. The best they can do is 80gp. They are not willing to divulge the leatherworker's location as he does not work directly with customers. Your passive insight tells you the blacksmiths are being honest.
@Graxx: They will gladly sell you 20 full-metal crossbow bolts and the case they come in. The package deals costs 2gp.
@Neya: They are willing to buy mundane weapons and armor as long as they are not heavily damage. They offer the following prices per item: longbow (25gp), longsword (7gp), chain shirt (25gp), shield (5gp), javelin (2sp).
(OOC: Feel free to let me know what you decide to buy/sell out-of-character. We don't have to RP these mundane transactions unless you would strongly like to do so.)
(@Lerus: The speed up a tad is appreciated. Keeping the RP light at least in return given a recent discovery)
Doozey crosses his arms and ponders the price for the moment. After a while Taters nudges the side of his face for attention, and upon sharing a sidelong look at length, the Ranger's eyes widen at another insight. So in the end, he apologizes in his own awkward way, but cites a reconsideration of the adjustment. Rather he would like to sell it if possible; and if not, have it returned to the leatherworker's shop all the same as along with a hastily put together note. The contents of which(as he summarizes to the go-between) would contain a thanks and a bright review on the armor, as well as suggestion to use it as a reference item for any future hunters with furred companions.
If accepted either which way, he promises to return later with Biscuit's old armor and saddle. The latter of which he at least expected to pay for adjustments, as he instinctively knew beast in question had undergone a change as well. For all the trouble caused, he wishes to purchase a set of silvered bolts. 20 silvered bolts preferably, or at least however much he can get under 120gp.
