Talinian nods his agreement, "Indeed. Here, take this." He takes out a sheet of paper and quickly pens a letter of introduction for Vurr. "That should be of assistance."
Vur seems to be overly thankful. "Once the Tea convention is over there will be merchants who will want to have armed escorts out, I will pay my way to your hall that way."
OK, so with that you return to Presdines what would you like to do?
"Should we turn Davey in now? And to whom? I believe there is more going on here than we see on the surface." Talinian asks the others, not caring anymore if Davey hears him.
"I agree," Bones nods as he strokes his beard. "I am interested to hear what Cinder has seen in his watch over Raymond. And I am more interested in those two guards he had at his side. I'm disappointed I wasn't able to find more clues at the graveyard, though it's possible something slipped me."
(DM - as we get back to town and within 100ft of Cinder's location, Bones will telepathically link with his familiar again and query as to what the spider has seen. Just a heads up in case you want to think of something :) )
You return to town, and as people see Davey tied up and being brought back to town for justice they cheer you, and try to shake hands. Bakers offer bread, butchers offer some bacon. Once Bones gets with in rage he relays what he has seen today.
Raymond was in two meetings in the hall where you had meet him, with him and his two body guards were two other people, one who looks to be a wizard of some type, his robes suggest schooling, but nothing as well known as Golin and Oriteath, Cinder never got into a position to see the species. The second was a human of good build, he wore the tabered of the guard but no armor under it, and a great ax set on the floor infront of him. One was a dispute over farm land, two human men were fighting, their two lands butt next to eachother. The first man said that he had the deed showing that he owned the land, but the second had claimed that he was the one who plowed the fields and planted the crops, and had been doing so for years. Raymond decleared that the second would keep the crops but not plant their again next year. Both men left angry about the decition, when they left both men agreed that Raymond had made the best choice on the matter. The second meeting was with two more men, one a dwarf, the other a human the human had commitioned the dwarf to blacksmith him a new gate for his house, on a loan. The human had missed the last four payments, Raymond decided that the human would work for the dwarf to pay off late fees for one week per missed payment, and this would continue further if the human missed any other payments. The dwarf left happy, the human angry. The wizard spent that meeting trying to talk Raymond into another form of punishment for the human, that he was suggesting slavery, and while not illegal this seemed to be highly irregular. The guard pointed out that in Malbore people get their hands cut off for theft, and that this is little different.
Once Raymond was done with the two meetings he went into his study in his study there is a large desk with books spread all over them, Cender never gets close enough to read them, but he does see a symble on one of them that Bones recognises its a skull inside a triangle that is made of three crescent moons. Two other books he can see the title which is "A Brief History of Vampires" and "The Difference Between Raising the Dead and Zombies.
Well done Cinder. Keep watching our mayor and keep me posted, Bones instructs his familiar telepathically. When the group gets a moment of quiet and privacy, Bones relays this information to the others. The meetings, the people, the study and the books.
"What should be our next course of action?" Bones says to the others, "Something is not right here, but I am at a loss as to what steps would she take next."
"I suggest we take Davey to our inn and see what transpires after. I agree with you Bones. There is something going on in this town and perhaps we can shake something loose, as one of my masters used to say," Talinian replies. He looks at the others to see what they think.
"Mmmm..." Thodin grumbles as he strokes his beard, "... agreed, there's definitely something not right here; the Bard was causing problems, but you might argue that it was somewhat accidental, shame we couldn't get any more information about that travelling merchant..."
Thodin shrugs as he adjusts his shield on his back, "But the inn sounds like a good place to hold up, and perhaps take the weight off our feet and a good meal?" he says with a slight glint of hope in his eye.
I would say that it is about dinner time when you all get back to the Inn.
Belmenor is there, he normally always is, takes few days off, and will go into a trance in the evening when he needs to. When he sees you all with Davey, gagged, he says. “Keep him silent or gagged, I care not, just don’t want to hear his s#!++y singing.
Bones is Cinder still watching the Mayor? Are you waiting till moring to bring him somewhere? I would say that the mayor never told you where to bring him, but you would have seen the guard’s main post that looks like it might have a jail of some kind init.
Talinian nods to the innkeeper. “We will. In fact, he shall remain with me in my room. Please have 2 meals brought to my chambers, a bottle of your best wine and some drink water as well. I will also require washing water.” Eyeing the bard, he continues, “Only 1 set of utensils, however.”
With that, he brings the bard upstairs to his room, sits him on a chair, and adds a blindfold for good measure, checking his bindings to ensure they remain tight and are not fraying at all. He then pulls out a book and begins reading while Baltor keeps watch over the inn, waiting for guards or the mayor or someone official to come.
When the food and drink arrives, the tiefling wizard a small tube from his pack, really a cut-down blow gun, but useful for drinking, and allows Davey to drink as much of the wine as he wants, while only drinking water himself. He also feeds the bard, not being willing to untie the man even for that.
He then enjoys his own meal, washes his face and that of his 'guest' and goes back to his reading.
Bones instructed Cinder to keep his watch on the mayor and to contact him if anything happens.
Once back in their rooms, Bones will read through Ingon's journal and spend some more time trying to uncover whatever his small book entailed since identifying it's true nature is somehow hidden.
You all wait at the Inn, night comes and goes with out any issues. Morning comes, you all got a good night's rest, Davey not so much seeing as he was tied up. While sitting in the main dinning area Bones you get a ping from Cinder and by looking through the spider's eyes you see the Mayor, along with his two undead bodyguards, the unarmored guard that he was meeting with the day before, and 2 more city guard, you don't recognize either one of them, caring manacles.
(OOC - I'm assuming we're all at a table for our morning meal here, but if incorrect, let me know and I can edit.)
Bones leans in after seeing the meeting, "The mayor is meeting with the two guards from yesterday and then two more city guards who bring manacles with them. They may be here for Davey, we should be wary. I'll continue to watch." And he sits back, resting his chin on his chest like he's resting in his chair, and looks through Cinder's eyes once again.

"Yes, and they are coming to this inn now," Talinian says quietly, taking another bite of his food. "Part of me does not want to let them have Davey. After all, our contract was to stop him, not turn him over. We have done so. And Bones and I believe something very odd is going on in this town. What are your thoughts, please? And please, keep your voices low."
"You seemed to handle yourself quite well, I'm sure the guild would be happy for more members such as yourself," Bones smiles.
Talinian nods his agreement, "Indeed. Here, take this." He takes out a sheet of paper and quickly pens a letter of introduction for Vurr. "That should be of assistance."
